DESCRIPTION
Iris Peters is a former school principal in her 60s. When she charged into her neighborhood's all-candidates mayoral debate to speak her mind, something happened that she didn't expect. After being taunted by Deputy Mayor Bill Clarke, Iris decides by the end of the evening to run for mayor. Naturally, the political novice ends up winning the election and heads to City Hall, where she treats its denizens as if they're badly behaved schoolchildren (owing to her history as a principal). Peters' scheming son, Stanley, who is full of ``get rich quick'' schemes, lives with her. The mayor's staff includes one of her former pupils and a septuagenarian former Korean secret service agent who guards her with his life.
