The unscripted ``Small Town Security'' follows the workplace drama of a small, family-run security and private investigation company in rural Georgia called JJK Security. While the day-to-day operations are depicted, the heartbeat of the series is found in the oddball behavior of JJK's colorful employees, led by the hilarious and inappropriate Joan Koplan, otherwise called ``The Chief.'' There's also Joan's old-school, charming husband, Irwin; straight-laced detective and process server Brian Taylor; flighty office secretary Christa Stephens; and ``The Lieutenant,'' Dennis Croft, who Joan reveals in the premiere episode used to be a woman. No wonder AMC describes the show as ``a cross between Christopher Guest's brilliant films and the sublime absurdity of `The Office.' ''.
