Christian Jacobs, co-creator, writer and director of ``Yo Gabba Gabba,'' is the mastermind of another live-action/animated series hybrid, this one featuring the real-life alternative rock band The Aquabats. The members, dressed in matching superhero costumes and masks, travel the world on a quest to destroy evil, eliminate boredom and seek justice for all, and they do so in the series using a blend of animation sequences and live concert footage. The Aquabats were born in 1994 as a fun alternative to Southern California's harsh punk rock scene and have gained a legion of fans with their ska-inspired music and theatrical stage shows. Jacobs is a founding member, the group's lead vocalist and portrays its fearless leader, The MC Bat Commander.
