DESCRIPTION
``The Colony'' attempts to determine what it would take to survive and rebuild a society in the wake of a global catastrophe. The controlled experiment brings together 10 volunteers from diverse backgrounds who, for 10 weeks, are isolated in a 50,000-square-foot abandoned warehouse -- minus electricity, running water and ways to communicate with the outside world -- on a parcel of land outside Los Angeles. Their new world was designed by experts in homeland security, engineering and psychology, who comment throughout the series on the challenges the colonists face as they work together to build the necessities of survival.
