DESCRIPTION
Once legendary Carlton Crew gangster Alphonse Gangitano fires the first shot in 1995, it sets the bloody tone in the Melbourne, Australia, gangland wars that last almost a decade, ultimately leaving Gangitano and many others in its wake. Based on the book ``Leadbelly'' by John Silvester and Andrew Rule, this miniseries is a fictionalized account of how a police task force led by detectives Steve Owen and Jacqui James investigates the mayhem, much of which is instigated by small-time criminal Carl Williams, who seeks to be king of Melbourne's underworld.
