DESCRIPTION
This revival of the classic British series begins in 1936, six years after parlor maid Rose left 165 Eaton Place, and it is set against the backdrop of a Britain with a new king. Fate brings Rose back to the home -- this time as housekeeper for the new owners, Sir Hallam and his wife, Lady Agnes; his mother, Lady Maud, soon arrives with manservant Mr. Singh. Rose tries to recruit a new ``downstairs'' family to help run the elegance of the ``upstairs'' world, but she finds that her job isn't easy, for she discovers that -- in both worlds -- there is a labyrinth of secrets, lies and scandals.
