Mary Lynn Rajskub to Guest on 'Royal Pains'

by Chris Harnick, posted May 10th 2010 10:20AM
Mary Lynn RajskubMary Lynn Rajskub, better known to some as Chloe, one of Jack Bauer's only friends on '24,' has signed up to guest on the June 10 episode of the hit USA series 'Royal Pains,' the Ausiello Files is reporting.

In it, Rajskub will play Newberg's (Christine Ebersole) stepdaughter, who, according to her Twitter, does yoga on diet pills.

'Royal Pains' returns to USA on June 3.

Meanwhile, in other '24' news, executive producer Howard Gordon recently sat down for an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, during which he revealed that the show will have an unhappy ending. Jack (Kiefer Sutherland), for example, will be left in a "compromised place morally, ethically and emotionally," he said.

Jack Shoots Dana on '24' (VIDEO)

by Chris Harnick, posted May 4th 2010 9:35AM
24 Jack BauerThat Dana Walsh (Katee Sackhoff) sure is a slippery one. She got Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) to keep her alive long enough on '24' (Mon., 9PM ET on FOX) so she could gather what she needed to try and kill him.

"That file is the only thing keeping me alive," Dana said. "No, right now I'm the only thing keeping you alive," Jack responded. And he was right. After Dana got to the safety deposit box she tried to kill Jack, but he was having none of that.

'24' - '11:00AM - 12:00PM' Recap

by Mike Moody, posted May 4th 2010 8:09AM
24 episode recap
(S08E10) Jack hit the streets last night on a bloody mission to expose everyone responsible for his pain. Was Dana was right when she said that Jack wouldn't stop until he's hunted down and killed everyone involved in the conspiracy, 'Kill Bill' style? I'm starting to think the answer is yes.

To echo Jane's review from last week ... I'm really starting to enjoy '24' again. This episode and last week's ep were quite awesome. I didn't like seeing Renee die a few weeks back, but her death seems to have given Jack and the show a much clearer focus and a sharper edge.

I'm loving watching Charles Logan pull the president's strings like a weasely little puppeteer. Can we all just agree that Prez Taylor has completely lost her marbles? I think we all knew she was in for a big fall once she got in bed with Logan. Ethan Kanin had the right idea getting out while the gettin' was good. Torture, lies, terrorism. He doesn't want to be connected to that awful mess.

Kiefer Sutherland was on the 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' (weekdays, syndicated) on Monday to talk about the end of '24.'

The show lasted eight seasons over nine years, Sutherland said, and there were 16 marriages and 30-odd children born among the cast and crew.

"As trite as it sometimes sounds," he said, "a real family developed there."

'24' - '10:00AM - 11:00AM' Recap

24, Cherry Jones(S08E19) "I just want the people who are responsible for this to be held accountable. All I need to do is expose them." - Jack to Chloe

Jane here, filling in for Mike. I was actually reviewing '24' at the beginning of the season, but found the storyline so preposterous that Mike graciously agreed to take it off my hands.

Somewhere between then and now, the show has gotten much better -- more interesting and less ridiculous. In fact, last week, my nephew emailed me and said the show's gotten better lately, especially with the return of Charles Logan. I wholeheartedly agree. Not that Logan's any less of a weasel, but that's what I love about him.

What to Watch: April 26 - May 2

Law & Order: SVU -
Tuesday April 27, 10 pm, CTV/NBC

NBC must have heard I was complaining about the 'Law & Order' franchise and decided they had to surprise me with a wicked little treat. So they hired Sharon Stone for a guest role as Stabler's ex-partner, now an ADA named Jo Malone. Sharon sticks around for four episodes and I do sincerely hope the writers make full use of her ability to play smart snarky women you don't necessarily like, but respect.

How About 'James Bond: The TV Series?'

by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 20th 2010 4:05PM
James Bond logoSo MGM announced yesterday that the next James Bond movie -- number 23, if you're keeping track -- has been put on hold "indefinitely" because the studio is for sale and they have no idea what's going on with it.

This is scary stuff. It reminds me of those awful years when everything was put on hold so long that Timothy Dalton said "the heck with this, yo" and left and they were without a Bond for a while. Everything turned out OK, as Pierce Brosnan was Bond for several flicks and then Daniel Craig for the reboot. Let's hope that things get settled before everyone decides to move on.

But it got me thinking: isn't it about time we had a 007 TV series? Why not?

Jack Steals a Helicopter on '24' (VIDEO)

by Chris Harnick, posted Apr 20th 2010 10:15AM
24Jack Bauer made one thing clear on '24' (Mon., 9PM on FOX), nobody tells him to stand down when he's not ready to.

Defying direct orders from the president and even the warnings of Chloe, Jack stole a helicopter. Yep, a helicopter.

In her desire for peace, the president ordered Jack to McGuire Air Force Base, but Jack was having none of that. As he took off in the helicopter, Chloe pleaded with him, but did what she had to do and called in the Air Force.

Oh, Jack. You certainly march to the beat of your own drum.

24, Renee Walker DiesOh, Jack! Things really haven't changed that much in the eight years days we've known you on '24' (Mon., 9PM ET on Fox). People you're close to are still dying in your arms. You and Renee finally got together and wham! Sniper bullet through the window.

That's just not right, Jack. And we know you'll understand when we say you should think twice about spending too much time with your daughter and granddaughter. We like them, Jack.
