Tina Fey Jokes She'll 'Never' Learn Gender of New Baby (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Apr 20th 2011 8:45AM
Tina Fey of '30 Rock' continued to be cagey about the sex of her second child on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' (weekdays, syndicated). Fey recently said she knows the child's gender on 'The Late Show With David Letterman,' but she offered no additional details while speaking with Ellen DeGeneres.Fey, who's due at the end of summer, joked that she and husband Jeffrey Richmond intend to wait a significant number of years before actually learning the baby's sex.
What to Watch: TV Picks for April 18 - 24
by Stephanie Earp, posted Apr 18th 2011 2:30AM

30 Rock - Thursday April 21, 10PM ET/PT, Citytv/NBC
It's been a bit of a rocky season for '30 Rock.' The one-liners have been fantastic -- I loved the copy of 'Black Yachts' magazine last week -- but the plots have become increasingly nonsensical. Perhaps Tina Fey has been too busy making best-selling books and babies to concentrate. Here's hoping this 1-hour episode -- the show's 100th -- is a highlight of the season. There may not be many more Jack Attacks, since Alec Baldwin is making noises about leaving the show after the 6th season, though Fey claims that's BS.
Condoleezza Rice to Guest Star on '30 Rock'
by Chris Harnick, posted Apr 15th 2011 2:20PM
This could be awkward ... awkwardly hilarious. Condoleezza Rice, former secretary of state under the Bush administration and ex-lover of the fictional Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin), will guest star on an upcoming episode of NBC's '30 Rock.''30 Rock' creator and star Tina Fey dropped the casting news at a book signing, according to the Washington Post.
The fictional relationship between Rice and Jack Donaghy began in the season 1 episode titled 'The Break Up.'
During the episode, Jack keeps his relationship a secret from the other characters, but becomes upset when he sees Rice with Vladimir Putin. They eventually break up.
Fey and the '30 Rock' team previously approached Bill Clinton about appearing in the landmark 100th episode, but the request was turned down by his camp.
'30 Rock' Season 5, Episode 19 Recap
by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 15th 2011 8:00AM
['30 Rock' - 'I Heart Connecticut']Well, it took all episode to finally get there, but it looks like things might be returning to normal in time for next week's 100th episode extravaganza. It's an event so big it's going to take both the 100th and 101st episodes to tell it.
But first, there's the issue of Tracy Jordan. Things have gotten really serialized the past few weeks, but the ongoing storyline of Tracy's sabbatical to Africa New York finally reached a head this week as Kenneth and Liz started tracking him down.
The C-Story this week was a bizarre arm-wrestling plot where Pete discovers a strength he didn't know he had, and finds it within him to care and be willing to lose. At least that's what it appeared to be on the surface.
Tracy Morgan and Sherri Shepherd Hilariously Rehash '30 Rock' Nude Scene (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 14th 2011 3:50PM
Sherri Shepherd plays Tracy Morgan's wife on '30 Rock,' and got a pretty good look at him on an episode where Morgan had to come out in nothing but a robe and undies. When Morgan appeared on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC), Shepherd claimed that Morgan kept stuffing his pants during filming, but he begged to differ."That wasn't stuffed!" Morgan proclaimed. "That's me. You know I'm magically delicious. I don't create nothing but stalkers." Shepherd laughed and looked embarrassed, and eventually apologized to Morgan, which made Whoopi Goldberg laugh even harder and point out that Shepherd was sweating.
Tina Fey at 'Comedy Awards': I Was Crushing Helen Mirren at Acting (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 11th 2011 1:56AM
It was a good night for '30 Rock' and Tina Fey at 'The Comedy Awards' (Sun., 9PM ET on Comedy Central). Alec Baldwin won TV Comedy Actor, while Fey picked up a writing award for the show. She took home a second trophy in the Film Comedy Actress category for her work in 'Date Night.'She inspired a new activity for bored college students across the nation with her acceptance speech for the latter.
"The only thing that I knew for sure while we were making this movie was that I was f****** crushing Helen Mirren at acting," she said. "If you watch 'Date Night' side by side next to 'The Queen,' it's embarrassing for her."
11 Characters Who Are Bringing Their Shows Down
by Chris Harnick, posted Apr 8th 2011 2:00PM
Sue Sylvester. Pierce Hawthorne. Ann Perkins. They're showstoppers, that's for sure, but not for the reason you might be thinking. You see, sometimes, even great shows have characters that mess with the flow of a seemingly perfect episode. They can bring an entire show to a halt with a scene. It's a peculiar tale, especially because some of these characters are played by award-winning TV veterans.
We might've liked them at first, but the writers have led them astray. Check out our full list below. Disagree with any of our choices? Have any additions? Tell us in the comments.
Sue Sylvester, 'Glee'
This character went from the best scene-stealer around to, well, almost the best scene-killer. It's no surprise Jane Lynch won the Emmy for 'Glee' season 1. 'Glee' season 2? That's another story. The character has gotten more and more absurd and cartoony. In fact, it wouldn't be surprising if Ryan Murphy and co. actually did an episode with an animated Sue Sylvester. By giving her so much to do, and trying to top each stunt, Sue Sylvester has become a burden for 'Glee.' That's not to say that every scene and episode with her is horrible; it's just a balance issue that needs to be rectified.

"I want to take the opportunity to state that although my days on network TV may be numbered, I hope '30 Rock' goes on forever," he wrote. "Or at least as long as everyone involved desires." Will '30 Rock' End Next Season? Alec Baldwin Says It Will
by Jean Bentley, posted Apr 6th 2011 10:10AM
Alec Baldwin, while at a fund-raising gala in New York City last night, dropped some truly earth-shattering news to a reporter from Vulture -- as an afterthought, even.Ready?
'30 Rock' will end after next season.
"I will tell you one thing," he told the reporter. "And that is our show -- next year is our last year of the show."
Though Baldwin has commented in the past that he didn't intend to stay on the NBC series after his contract expires in 2012 (maybe he'll run for office instead), no one from the show has discussed the fate of the entire series after his departure.
Tom Hanks to Guest Star on '30 Rock'
by Catherine Lawson, posted Mar 28th 2011 9:00AM
Tom Hanks has announced that he'll be taking on his first TV acting gig in years this spring. And that it was Tina Fey who lured him back to the small screen, with a guest spot on '30 Rock'.The movie star Tweeted the news Friday night: "RadioMan delivers msg from T.Fey. Result? I'm on 30 Rock! Thanks, RMan Hanx."
No details have been released yet about his '30 Rock' role -- could Kip/Buffy from 'Bosom Buddies' be moving into Liz Lemon's apartment building? -- and it's possible that he'll appear as himself.
But, according to TVLine.com, if he does play a character it will be his first TV acting job on a major network since he played alcoholic Uncle Ned in 'Family Ties' over 20 years ago.

['30 Rock' - 'Plan B']"Come, we live under the subways. With the CEO of Friendster." -- Homeless travel agent, to Liz
So we're just going to pretend that last week's episode didn't happen, right? I laughed more in the first four minutes of this episode than I did in all of 'Queen of Jordan.'
'Plan B' wasn't just a better episode of '30 Rock' -- let's face it, they could have shown a rerun of 'Veronica's Closet' and it would have been better -- but it was like an entirely different show, a cleanser for the mind palate.

['30 Rock' - 'Queen of Jordan']We waited three weeks for this?
'30 Rock' rarely makes a big misstep. Even when a particular episode isn't as funny or incisive or clever as the show usually is, it's still above average, better than most comedies on the air, even if it gets there on joke quantity and not quality.
This episode was one of the worst in the show's 4 1/2 season run.
You would think that a wall-to-wall spoof of a reality show would be right up '30 Rock's' alley. Then why did this episode fall so, so flat?
How to Fix an Aging '30' Rock? Add a New Female Lead
by Maureen Ryan, posted Mar 10th 2011 11:45AM
'30 Rock' has gone from a show that used to land on my annual Top 10 list to a program that isn't on my weekly must-see list. Don't get me wrong, I haven't given up on it. I watch it at least a half a dozen times each season and usually come away at least mildly entertained, but '30 Rock' is like that old college buddy you run into at a party. We used to have so much in common, but Liz Lemon and I have simply grown apart. If '30 Rock' doesn't want to fade quietly into the twilight, I think the show needs to shake things up at this stage. Certainly it could stand some alterations in the cast department.

The Peacock network announced its 2011 finale schedule today, and it's an extra-special one for comedy fans. We're getting 1-hour finales of 'Community' and 'Parks and Recreation,' and a 2-hour dose of

Donald Glover Was Hired at 21-Years Old to Write for '30 Rock' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 8th 2011 3:58AM
Donald Glover has had a pretty quick rise to fame, but it may have started even sooner than you realized. On 'Lopez Tonight' (Weeknights, 12AM ET on TBS), the 'Community' star talked about the email he received that changed his life. It was a job offer from '30 Rock' to be a writer."How did you send the material to them in the first place," George Lopez asked him.
"I emailed it." But don't send off that script just yet: The producers had asked him to submit some material. At 21-years old, Glover thought it was some kind of joke, but before he knew it, he was on staff, and would stay there for three years.
"And you left on your own?" Lopez asked.
