Tyra Banks, 'America's Next Top Model'There was a surprise waiting toward the end of this season finale of 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 9PM ET on The CW). Going into the finale, it was a three-way competition between Lisa D'Amato, Allison Harvard and Angelea Preston.

After watching their final shoots, Tyra Banks made her announcement. "It turns out that after shooting was wrapped, our production team and the network learned information from Angelea that disqualifies her from the competition," she said.

What to Watch: TV Picks for December 5 - 11

by Stephanie Earp, posted Dec 5th 2011 9:44AM
A Michael Bublé Christmas - Tuesday December 6, 8PM ET/PT, CTV/NBC

I will definitely not be watching this, but as I see this round-up as a service to others as much as an exercise in planning my own weekly viewing, I include it for all the people who, inexplicably, love this guy. The Bubbler is joined by guests including Justin Bieber, Kellie Pickler, Tracy Morgan and Ed Helms. (Forgive us, but we have to throw it in there: this unholy alliance can be called ... Bublieber?)

Glee - Tuesday November 8, 8PM ET/PT, Global/Fox

The episode title is 'The First Time' so that should give you a hint of some of the big developments that happen at McKinley High this week. Blaine and Rachel may be partially motivated to heat things up in their private lives when Artie tells them they have zero sexual chemistry as Maria and Tony in the school production of 'West Side Story'. So basically, we're getting teenage sex both gay and straight, and a handful of truly classic songs all on the same night!

The Game Loves Allison And Her Music Video on 'America's Next Top Model' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 3rd 2011 3:00AM
The Game, 'America's Next Top Model'The Game may not be an expert in fashion, but he does know a thing or two about what looks good when it comes to women. Of course, the same could be said for most men, but most men didn't get to be a guest judge on 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 9PM ET On The CW), and The Game did.

He was particularly fascinated by Allison's video shoot, which he also got to direct. She wasn't quite sure what to make of his critique at first, because he was fixated on the word "weird" in trying to describe what he'd just seen. In his defense, it is certainly the first thing that comes to mind, and not in a bad way.

Bre Scares Supermodel Coco Rocha at Shoot on 'America's Next Top Model' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 20th 2011 3:00AM
Coco Rocha, 'America's Next Top Model'After enjoying a little flag football, pixelated for your pleasure, on 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 9PM ET on The CW), the girls were tasked with posing for a fight-themed photo shoot with supermodel Coco Rocha.

Rocha's been in the business for a while now, so she's worked with a lot of different people. But nothing could prepare her for Bre. The girl was screaming and overacting so much, she was dangerously close to getting cast in a low budget B-movie.

"I've never worked with someone like that, even in my professional career," Rocha said. "I didn't even know how to pose anymore, it was so shocking."

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 13th 2011 12:30AM
Khloe, Kourtney & Kim Kardashian, 'America's Next Top Model'It was Kardashians all over the place on 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 9PM ET on The CW) as the sisters showed up with their new fashion line from Sears and a challenge for the contestants. They wanted to see the girls strut their own style, while wearing Kardashian style.

The winner got a complete Kardashian outfit to take home, which they were incredibly excited about. And, as it turns out, two of the contestants got the new look because they tied for the win. Apparently, these two were so dynamic, the sisters simply couldn't decide.

Nigel Barker Lets Tyra Shave His Head on 'America's Next Top Model' (VIDEO)

by Catherine Lawson, posted Sep 22nd 2011 8:45AM
Nigle's haircut, on 'ANTM'We all know by now that Tyra rules on 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 9PM ET on The CW) and that she always gets what she wants.

This week she was feeling capricious and, although she'd previously ordered judge Nigel Barker to grow his hair super-long she announced that she'd changed her mind: "I don't think it's on-brand."

Then she whipped out an orange hairdressing cape, tied it around the neck of a clearly nervous Nigel, and went at it with a pair of electric clippers.

As André Leon Talley looked on in horror and Nigel started to make scared gargling noises, Tyra shaved off a strip right through to the skin in the center of Nigel's 'do.

Shannon Refuses to Pose in Lingerie on 'America's Next Top Model' (VIDEO)

by Catherine Lawson, posted Sep 15th 2011 8:35AM
'ANTM'Shannon Stewart's been on 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 9PM ET on The CW) before, and that time around she had to pose in lingerie, which made her feel uncomfortable: "That's not the way I want to be portrayed."

This time around Shannon feels more confident about asserting herself and so she refuses to wear a pair of lace panties for an exterior shoot, opting instead to don a pair of teeny-tiny bikini bottoms.

What's confusing the heck out of photo shoot director Jay Manuel is that she should have been wearing the panties over the bikini bottoms in the first place anyway. "Are you that uncomfortable wearing it on top?" he asks.

But Shannon won't budge. That's who she is, and she'd rather give it all up and go home than do something she's not comfortable with.

'America's Next Top Model' Season 16 Finale: Did Molly or Brittani Win? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 19th 2011 12:36AM
Molly & Brittani, 'America's Next Top Model' season finaleAnother season of 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 9PM ET on CW) came to a close as Tyra Banks dramatically revealed the winner of this season's competition. Would it be Molly, the adopted girl who struggled with abandonment? Or Brittani, who came from a trailer park and wears her emotions ... well all over the place?

In this final episode, the girls had a shoot for Covergirl and another one for 'Vogue Italia.' But perhaps the most memorable moment came during a fashion show celebrating "Anglomania."

"There's these damned rose petals and your shoes are so slippy, like your shoe always like kind of glides on them," Brittani said as preface to one of the harder falls we've ever seen on 'ANTM.' Brittani slipped, tried to catch herself and failed completely.

Tyra Banks, 'America's Next Top Model'In the final episode before the season finale, 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 9PM ET on CW) announced the two finalists who will vie for the title next week. To up the drama, the episode reminded us of where the three finalists came from, thus emphasizing how much this opportunity would mean to them.

The girls were given the task of pretending to be actual journalists, which suited Hannah just fine. She went to school for that very thing. That means she should be a shoo-in to win this task, right?

The Competition Is Too Much for One Contestant to Handle on 'America's Next Top Model' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 3rd 2011 12:56AM
Ondrei Orae, 'America's Next Top Model'Sometimes there are more important things to deal with in life than a reality show. Ondrei Orae tried to suppress the emotions of the past year in her personal life for her chance at being 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 8PM ET on The CW).

The poor girl struggled throughout the episode emotionally and it came through in the weird bees photo shoot that Tyra Banks and her production crew came up with. Orae lost both of her brothers in the past year: One was murdered and the other died in a car accident.

She took ownership of her failure to commit, acknowleding that this was a tremendous opportunity she simply couldn't handle right now.

'America's Next Top Model': Still Worth Watching

by Stephanie Earp, posted Feb 22nd 2011 2:00PM
America's Next Top Model

It is a universally-acknowledged truth that Tyra Banks is crazy -- certainly by those of us who watch 'America's Next Top Model.' It is a truth universally mentioned by the people we live with and who are forced sometimes to watch it with us, that it's a pretty stupid show.

There really isn't a criticism I can level at the show that hasn't been covered, ad infinitum, by other critics, and even by me in previous columns. Tyra is a diva. The challenges are cruel. It's probably rigged.

And yet, the show continues to appeal -- on a fairly serious level -- to those of us interested in fashion, in television and in feminism.

Ann Ward on Taking 'America's Next Top Model' Crown: 'I Really Wasn't Expecting to Win'

by Chris Jancelewicz, posted Dec 2nd 2010 5:10PM
Controversial 'America's Next Top Model' contestant Ann Ward took home the top prize in last night's season finale -- much to her own shock. When host Tyra Banks showed her winning final photo, Ward burst into tears and hid her face in her hands. Derided the whole season for her tall, skinny figure (Ward is 6'2'' and very thin), Ward had the 'best photo' for 5 weeks in a row and was the subject of much media scrutiny.

TV Squad chatted with Ward about her victory, what she has to say to the media's 'anorexia' accusations and what message she hopes her victory sends to the 'ANTM' fans.
