It's not a huge issue, obviously, but so much has happened on the spy dramedy since season 2. Morgan not only knows Chuck's spy secrets, he has the Intersect! Chuck and Sarah are not only in love, but married, for goodness' sake! Huge changes have occurred in the lives of our Buy More pals, yet the photos remained the same. That old shot of Chuck wearing a Buy More badge and a pocket protector just didn't look right when you'd go to grab an image for one of the show's game-changing season finales.
But that's all changed now. NBC just posted a swell new group of 'Chuck' portraits, and doesn't everybody look suave?
Star Zachary Levi got choked up on stage as he recalled the show's first Comic-Con panel and as he talked about all that fans had done to keep the show alive for five seasons.
"This show would not have been here without you guys," he said, before his emotions overcame him and he stopped talking. Fans took up the slack by cheering and clapping.
The panel began with a video of Jeffster playing 'Eye of the Tiger' as Gomez did a 'Rocky'-style workout. Morgan is the new Intersect, after all, and as Ryan McPartlin said in the video, the former Buy More nerd has to be "ripped" for the new season.
Our blushing bride and dashing groom were left facing an uncertain future at the episode's conclusion, and at this point, making it to the church on time is the least of our spy team's worries.
Last month, AOL TV was among a number of outlets invited to the 'Chuck' set to interview the cast as they filmed the finale.
Join us after the jump to discover what we learned about next week's climactic finale and what the stars had to say about their loyal fans. (Spoilers ahead.)
No, that isn't a typo; on tonight's 'Chuck' (8PM ET on NBC), titled 'Chuck Vs. Agent X,' Captain Awesome (Ryan McPartlin) throws our titular groom-to-be one hell of a bachelor party, and instead of going the clichéd weekend in Vegas route, Chuck (Zachary Levi) and his cohorts end up celebrating in the peaceful solitude of Las Vecas, a campground that, according to McPartlin, ends up being a little more reminiscent of 'Deliverance' than 'The Hangover'.
But while the guys are embroiled in spy shenanigans, blushing bride Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski) has an equally action-packed encounter with "The Snakes of Toluca Lake" -- we have a feeling she'd rather be out in the woods. For more on Chuck and Sarah's unique bachelor/ette parties, join us after the jump. (Mild spoilers ahead!)
(S03E15) The first major thought that occurred to me after watching tonight's episode was that if Fred Willard and Swoosie Kurtz got a spin-off series about their characters, the Turners, I would watch it. The conversation between them was hilarious. For all we know, this could very well have been a back door pilot for them. They're the 'Gary Seven' of 'Chuck.'
Obviously, agents are tempted to cross the line time to time (that's what happened with Shaw not too long ago). It's interesting how age leads to more self-justification in the matter. Doesn't the CIA or NSA have a decent pension plan?
Chuck (Zachary Levi) refuses to let Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) kill the animal. "I am not letting you shoot a tiger. They are endangered and majestic!" he says to her. So it falls to spy-in-training Morgan (Joshua Gomez) to take care of the beast.
The episode was particularly enjoyable. There was comedy, drama, romance and a little bit of action (although more action happened off-screen, but there was enough emotional action to more than make up for it).
Oh, maybe a couple of shows switched places or maybe a show dropped from number five to number eight, but for the most part the list stayed the same. That all changed a couple of years ago when I had to add both 'Mad Men' and '30 Rock' to the list. I still haven't figured out which two shows in the top ten I'll have to take off.
I'll also have to add a third show to that list, and that would be NBC's 'Chuck' (tonight at 8 on NBC). I don't know if it wedges its way into the top ten, but it's definitely top twenty. Here's why.
According to incredibly affable 'Chuck' star Zachary Levi, they wrapped filming on season 3 two weeks ago. However, he is not a fan of spoilers and heard that there was allegedly a mole on the set of the show. "We didn't even get the last four or five pages of the last script. That's the first time that ever happened. It always boggles my mind that people would want to spoil that. It takes away from the whole experience of any show, especially a show that's so rooted in certain mythologies."
You knew Gen. Beckman wasn't fooling around when she called him Mr. Casey and asked Chuck to escort him off government property. Not that Beckman would ever fool around. She never even cracks a smile.
And could Sarah really be relocating to Washington, D.C.? Slow down! Everything's changing too fast for us!
Watch the video after the jump.
It looks like everything that could possibly happen on 'Chuck' is going to happen in the new episodes, and it all looks fun. [Watch clips and episodes of 'Chuck' and other shows at SlashControl.]
(S03E03) With two strong opening episodes, Chuck has been off and running in this third season. Even the ratings have been great. Would episode three be on target like the others? Survey says: yes.
Oh, it wasn't a perfect show, but it was fun to see Devon -- Dr. Awesome -- getting some major attention and almost a cliffhanger ending. More after the jump. Light up a double corona cigar and let's go.
This Sunday night, Chuck returns to NBC for a special two-episode, two hour jump start into season three. Expect to be dazzled. NBC was good enough to send an impressive press kit for Chuck's new season, including five episodes.
For those of you who were concerned about how the show would handle the many changes promulgated by the end of last season, you can relax. While it's no spoiler to reveal that Chuck now has the fully integrated Intersect 2.0 inside his head, complete with martial arts skills and other talents (Flamenco guitar?) it's also not a surprise that having all that in his brain doesn't mean that life is any easier for a simple, Burbank IT guy.
