The next Amazing Race may be going the All-Star route
Survivor did it first. Then, Big Brother followed. Now, it looks like The Amazing Race will go into All-Star mode for its eleventh cycle, which begins filming next month.
According to the TVgasm website, the only teams that are confirmed as returning are Collin and Christy, and Mirna and Charla (otherwise known as Schmirna), who are both from the fifth cycle of the series. When doing some research for this post (yes, I actually do try to get my facts straight) it seems that Mirna and her cousin were not really loved by the viewing public. Regardless of that, all returning teams will face a slew of brand new tasks and challenges courtesy of recently hired challenge producer Alan Bishop, who was responsible for recent Survivor challenges.
What is your opinion on another reality show going the All-Star route? On the one hand I think viewers are interested in seeing some of their favorite teams again on a new trek. On the other hand, you're also seeing the same annoyances that you grew to hate when they first appeared. And, unlike Survivor and Big Brother, there is no new group dynamic on TAR; it's the same teams in different settings. Unless, the producers decide to mix the teams up. Now, that would be interesting.
