Eva Longoria Says She Enjoyed Hosting and Producing the ALMA Awards (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Sep 12th 2011 3:00PM
Eva Longoria didn't just host Saturday's ALMA Awards, she also produced the show, which recognizes positive portrayals of Latinos in television, film, and music. Monday on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC), Longoria told Kit Hoover how much fun she had, both as a producer and co-hosting with George Lopez."I love behind-the-scenes," she said. "I love producing, I love putting things together. We work with the writers to write the content, we book all of the presenters, we book the music, and so then I was like, we've got to get a comedian on this show. And so we got George, who was a natural fit, and it's so fun to play off of him. We're just really good friends."

George Lopez and Eva Longoria will be hosting this year's American Latino Media Arts Awards in September, or the ALMAs, for short. Lopez took a look at some of the nominees on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC), mostly the pretty ones, to go along with what Lopez said was "a positive portrayal of Latinos in media.""There's some hot dudes and hot women in these nominations," he said, setting up a series of photos. "Let's take a look. Not all are hot, but some of them. There's some nasty-looking people." The segment showed images of Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, and Sofia Vergara -- no one nasty looking. He can name those people in person when he hosts the show.

'Psych'(10PM, USA) 3rd summer finale
After Gus is taken hostage during a bank robbery, there's good news and bad news. First, BFF Shawn works his way inside the bank (by convincing the robber he has to use the bathroom). Then, he tries to play negotiator with the stressed-out thief.
Actually, considering Shawn's wacky, fake psychic ways, it's a toss-up as to whether his involvement with the hostage sitch is good news or bad news, but the drama turns even more complicated when the robber reveals his sympathetic motivation and Shawn's ex-cop dad Henry sees the crisis unfold on TV.
Only adding fun to the caper: guest stars Gary Cole and Alan "Cameron Frye" Ruck.
ALMA award nominations announced
by Erin Martell, posted Jul 22nd 2008 8:26AM
Eva Longoria Parker and Cristiàn de la Fuente were on hand on Monday to announce the 2008 ALMA Award nominations. The National Council of La Raza presents the award annually to Latino entertainers in film and television. Longoria Parker is hosting and producing the ceremony again this year. This year's group of celebrated actors, writers, and directors will receive their awards on August 17. ABC is broadcasting the awards show on September 12. Surprisingly, Eva Longoria Parker didn't get a nomination for her Desperate Housewives role, but her on-screen husband, Ricardo Chavira, did (Update: she took herself out of the running). Other notable names missing from the list of nominees are America Ferrera and Ana Ortiz from Ugly Betty, who won awards last year.
