Steve Carell and Jimmy Fallon Compare 'Ambiguously Gay Duo' Gary Voices (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 27th 2011 5:04AM
It was a reunion of two Garys on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC) when Steve Carell joined Jimmy Fallon. Carell is the long-time voice of the sidekick superhero, Gary, in the Robert Smigel 'SNL' cartoon series 'The Ambiguously Gay Duo.'This past season, though, the characters erupted into real-life during one short, with Jon Hamm stepping in as Ace and Jimmy Fallon as his counterpart Gary.
Carell decided that they needed to each do the voice, in a kind of competition to see where things stack up, so he came up with an appropriate line for Gary. Imagine a plug has come unplugged from a wall.
Set Your DVR! TV Funhouse this Saturday
by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 25th 2006 5:24PM
I would say that there are two shows that I'm most looking
forward to this year. One is Aaron Sorkin's Studio 60, which will debut on NBC this fall, and the other is the
special that the same network has this Saturday night. The Best of Saturday TV Funhouse will run in the
11:30pm slot, and will feature the best of Robert Smigel's cartoons and other video projects. The
show will be hosted by The Ambiguously Gay Duo (voices of Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell), and we'll also
see The X-Presidents, Fun With Real Audio, satires of Michael Jackson, Disney, and everything in between. The New York Times has a story on the special and on Smigel himself.
