Review: Parks and Recreation - Christmas Scandal
by Kona Gallagher, posted Dec 11th 2009 1:10AM

(S02E12) This week's episode of Parks and Recreation was bittersweet-- but mostly sweet. After being MIA for several episodes, Louis C.K. returned, only to say goodbye. However, sweet scenes between April and Andy, Mark and Ann, and the entire office finally realizing how much they need Leslie, made up for the sadness.
It wasn't all sappy, though. When you have a councilman who gets a babysitter pregnant and then proceeds to have sex with four delivery-room nurses and a woman who's husband is getting a liver transplant, there is bound to be some funny-- and apparently an ass shot or two.
The Jay Leno Show: Pee Wee Herman, Amy Poehler
by Danny Gallagher, posted Sep 23rd 2009 1:15AM

Ever hear a joke that you're not sure you heard a punchline to yet? I'm not even sure tonight's Jay Leno Show had a setup.
Pee Wee Herman's triumphant return to Jay's show was an insufferable bore, beyond an opening joke about mistaking a wedding ring for an abstinence ring. It ended, and I literally said the words, "Why the hell did I just watch that?" Then I realized I'm being paid to watch TV for a living, and I quit bitching.
The comic character was there to promote his revival of The Pee Wee Herman Show stage play, but the whole interview had very few laughs and felt more like an introspective look at the man's childhood and aspirations to go into show business. The only problem is he's a fictional character and the stories didn't have much of a punchline, so it's hard to know if they were about Pee Wee Herman or the man playing Pee Wee Herman. Should I be laughing? Should I be interested? Should I care?
Amy Poehler Interview for 'Parks and Recreation'
by Maggie Furlong, posted Apr 6th 2009 6:00AM
"I think she's super fun to play because she's like any good comic character: She's deluded and kind of an insecure narcissist. [Laughs]" The woman who brought Hillary Clinton, Dakota Fanning, Nancy Grace, Michael Jackson, Kelly Ripa and Britney Spears to life on 'Saturday Night Live' has a new gig -- on primetime TV.
On NBC's 'Parks and Recreation,' Amy Poehler plays Leslie Knope, a low-level government employee in Pawnee, Ind. Shot documentary-style like another NBC Thursday-night show ('Parks' comes from the producers of 'The Office'), it takes viewers inside the minutiae of politics as seen through the eyes of the incredibly naïve Knope.
AOL TV got the exclusive scoop from Poehler on the buzzed-about show and her new castmates, her dish on pal Tina Fey, funny hubby Will Arnett, their new baby and -- Oprah would be so proud -- her vision boards. -- By Maggie Furlong
