'Dexter' Season 6, Episode 5 Recap: 'Angel of Death' (VIDEO)
Earlier in the season, I found myself getting frustrated about the pacing of Season 6 of 'Dexter,' but 'Angel of Death' was the kind of stellar, fast-paced episode that Dexter can deliver when it's clicking on all cylinders. It covered a lot of ground and didn't waste any time. Dexter stacked clues in pursuit of Professor Gellar, but -- as has often happened to our morally ambiguous anti-hero -- lost someone close to him in the process. As per usual, Dexter's off-the-books investigations found him several steps ahead of his colleagues in Miami Metro, the ones conducting the legitimate, lawful detective work. Dexter tracked Travis from outside the greenhouse crime-scene, connected dots from glue used in one of the horse's sheets and tracked him from there. He eventually staked out his car, ambushed him with the "wire around the neck from the backseat" trick, but concluded he was only a pawn in Gellar's game and kept him alive to get closer to the twisted Professor.
Review: Chuck - Chuck vs. the Angel de la Muerte

(S03E03) With two strong opening episodes, Chuck has been off and running in this third season. Even the ratings have been great. Would episode three be on target like the others? Survey says: yes.
Oh, it wasn't a perfect show, but it was fun to see Devon -- Dr. Awesome -- getting some major attention and almost a cliffhanger ending. More after the jump. Light up a double corona cigar and let's go.
NCIS: Angel Of Death (season finale)
(S04E24) CBS has been teasing this episode for a couple weeks now, with promises of secrets being revealed. They did get to the big one, though that was more of a confirmation of what we already expected. Overall though, I think they oversold it. Another case of the promotions department writing checks that the writers aren't cashing. That feeling of something being incomplete carried over into the rest of the episode as well. It just didn't have the feel of the big season finale. The show set a very high bar with "Twilight" in season two and can't afford to just phone it in like this. Half of this episode could have just been dropped right in the middle of any other episode and it wouldn't have made a difference. That's fine, for episodes 2 through 23, but the big guns have to come out for the first and the last.
The 4400: Graduation Day
(S03E06) Last week there were arguments. I said the wrapup was too neat. Some of you said no, I just didn't get it -- there was complexity. Things might not be as they seemed. And I'm happy to ring the bell of correct-ness. Ding ding ding! az1324 called it: Matthew was sent back from the future to work for the "other side." Whatever the other side, is.
Indeed, much to my delight we're given ever more conundrums in The 4400. It does seem as if Isabelle has redressed her "angel of death" moniker, although she is causing quite a bit of murder and mayhem as she turns the gifts of the Nova Group members against them. Perhaps we should replace the "of death" in her title, in fact, with "avenging."
Add Alana -- who through her work with students in the 4400 school, finds the man who killed her first husband and son -- to the list of AA members. And when we're talking 4400, AA stands for Avenging Angel.
