Johnny Depp Laughs About Filming a Sexy Scene With Angelina Jolie (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Dec 8th 2010 3:11AM
Johnny Depp Laughs About Filming a Sexy Scene With Angelina JolieOn the new 'Late Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS), Johnny Depp cracked up while discussing a sexy scene involving himself and Angelina Jolie. Still, for some people -- possibly including Depp's girlfriend -- this might not be a laughing matter. And things are made more complicated by the fact that Depp has worked with Angelina's partner, Brad Pitt.

Johnny and Jolie co-star in the upcoming thriller 'The Tourist.' Depp's latest film contains a link to his first major acting job -- his role on the 1980s teen drama '21 Jump Street.' Mr. Brad Pitt was on that show too (here's a fairly hilarious video featuring the two of them). But all of that was a long, long time ago ...

Angelina Jolie Doesn't Think She's That Interesting (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Dec 7th 2010 6:30PM
Angelina Jolie says she doesn't think she's that interesting on 'Today'Angelina Jolie lives a fairly boring, mundane life. At least that's what she told Matt Lauer on the 'Today Show' (Weekdays, 7AM on NBC). Jolie, whose every move is tracked in the tabloid media, painted herself as a homebody who doesn't really understand why she's the focus of so much attention.

Lauer opened the discussion by saying, "You must sit home sometimes in your pajamas with curlers in your hair and say, 'What is it about me that they find so fascinating?'"

"I do the same thing every day in my natural life," she told Lauer, "I wear the same thing every day. I don't go out," Jolie replied.

Lauer then asked if all the media scrutiny was merely a phase. "I just assume the older I get the more it will go away," she said.

'The View' Debates Chelsea Handler's Angelina 'Homewrecker' Slam (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Dec 6th 2010 3:40PM
Sherri Shepherd discusses Chelsea Handler's slam of Angelina Jolie on 'The View'Chelsea Handler recently called Angelina Jolie a "home wrecker" in her stand-up act, a topic 'The View' (Weekdays, Syndicated on ABC) decided to take up this morning. Handler is good friends with Jennifer Aniston, who was Brad Pitt's girlfriend before he left her to marry Angelina Jolie. But if you've bought groceries in the past five years, you're up to date on these developments. Aniston, Pitt, and Jolie have been unable to shake the headlines for years.

Handler has never been a shrinking violet, and 'The View' aired an obscenity-laden clip of the 'Chelsea, Lately' host in which 'home wrecker' is one of her kinder descriptions of Jolie. Sherri Shepherd mentioned that Aniston and Handler had recently vacationed together, which might have brought up the subject again. "Normally when someone hurts your friend, you'll hurt for them," said Shepherd. Whoopi Goldberg thought bringing up the subject after so long seemed disingenuous.

Bringing up the fact that she brought it up, though, is apparently just good television.

Joan Rivers Talks Betty White Stealing Jobs and Angelina Jolie's Family (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Oct 27th 2010 7:30AM
Joan Rivers Talks Betty White, Angelina on 'Late Night'Joan Rivers seems to be having some trouble getting work these days. "It gets hard as you get older," says the comedienne on 'Late Night' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC). "And then Betty White, that old bitch, came back ... took [the] Snickers [ad] right [beep] away from me," Rivers jokes, adding that she -- not Jamie Lee Curtis -- would have been perfect for Activia's campaign.

Making matters worse, Rivers doesn't enjoy living with her daughter Melissa for the WE reality show 'Mother Knows Best.' Apparently, this puts her in contact with "big vagina lips -- Angelina Jolie" and "those horrible children." She says Brad Pitt "doesn't know where the hell he is." And when Jolie talks about her UN work, Rivers makes an acerbic suggestion.

Angelina Jolie Talks Splitting Her Head Open Filming 'Salt' (VIDEO)

by Bob Sassone, posted Jul 23rd 2010 1:30PM
Angelina JolieIt's not clear which is harder, being an action movie star where you are shooting guns, running from explosions and jumping out of helicopters or raising several kids of various ages. Angelina Jolie said on 'Good Morning, America' today (weekdays at 7AM on ABC) that she wanted to do the new movie 'Salt' because it was so different than the way she was feeling at the time she got the script, always around the house, dealing with her many children.

She also talked about getting injured on the set and being sent to the hospital. Don't worry fans! Her face and body are as pristine as they were before the shooting began.

Happy Birthday, Joss Whedon! Our Favorite Whedon-y Moments

by Brad Trechak, posted Jun 23rd 2010 10:00PM
Joss WhedonAll hail the great and powerful Joss. All hail his mighty pen that doth slay vampires, galactic empires, super-villains and evil corporate conglomerates alike. Verily he is a most excellent wizard of the pen and camera.

Seriously, today is Joss Whedon's birthday (just don't ask his age. OK, he's 46) and to celebrate in a 'Buffy'-'Angel'-'Firefly'-'Dr. Horrible'-'Dollhouse' sort of way, there will be video of our favorite moments from each sample of the Whedon collection.

In the interest of being off-beat (which is as good a tribute to the maestro himself as anything), I will list the examples in reverse-chronological order from their initial debut. Also, since this is a television blog, I'm restricting the example to his television efforts. I'm also adding 'Dr. Horrible,' because it was so cool.

Carol Burnett Talks Angelina Jolie and Today's Funny Ladies (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Apr 12th 2010 1:30PM
If Carol Burnett had her choice of any actress to play her in a biopic, she'd choose none other than Angelina Jolie, she said on 'The Rachael Ray Show' (weekdays, syndicated). However, when Burnett plumps up her lips in an exaggerated impression of Jolie, something tells us she's not being entirely serious.

Burnett also said she finds today's crop of funny ladies highly entertaining. When Rachael Ray asks Burnett who makes her laugh, she says, "Well, I love the ladies. I love Tina Fey and Amy [Poehler], Tracey Ullman and Ellen DeGeneres."

Brad Pitt Proposes to Joy on 'Til Death' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 14th 2010 11:58PM
Til Death, Brad PittA porn mustache on Brad Pitt in real life is just ... ugh (though, let's face it, it's better than that Allen Ginsberg beard he's been sporting). But even worse when he's a cartoon character.

That's just what we got on 'Til Death' (Sun., 7PM ET on Fox), when an animated Pitt proposed to an animated Joy. His kids were there, but no sign of Angelina Jolie. Just as well. She probably would have pulled a 'Lara Croft' and kicked Joy's ass. Hmmm ...

Rosie O'Donnell on 'Glee,' 'Family,' Team Coco and Love

by Michael Maloney, posted Jan 26th 2010 9:30AM
Rosie O'Donnell may not be voicing her opinions on 'The View' anymore, but she's still letting America know how she feels.

The outspoken and philanthropic Daytime Emmy-winner's next project is the HBO special 'A Family Is a Family Is a Family: A Rosie O'Donnell Celebration,' set to air Sunday, Jan. 31 at 4 p.m. The documentary's goal is to heighten America's understanding of nontraditional families.

AOL was on the scene at the recent TV Critics Association's winter press tour when O'Donnell shared her thoughts on her HBO show, the pros and cons of TV versus radio and possibly guest-starring on 'Glee.'

How did Ricky Gervais do as Golden Globes host?

by Jane Boursaw, posted Jan 18th 2010 7:00AM
Golden Globes 2010, Ricky GervaisWhen I talked with Ricky Gervais a few weeks ago, he said his game plan as host of the Golden Globes was to keep things rolling and have fun with it. He also said comedians are "meant to push the barriers a little bit and see what happens."

He definitely pushed a few barriers on the Golden Globes last night, taking potshots at Paul McCartney's marital troubles, Kiefer Sutherland's anger management issues, and Angelina Jolie's penchant for adopting children from Third World countries (too much, given the dire crisis in Haiti?)

Even Mel Gibson's alcohol troubles came up. Gervais appeared on stage drinking a beer as he introduced his next presenter. "Don't get me wrong," he said. "I like a drink as much as the next man, unless the next man is ... Mel Gibson."

Overall, Gervais' hosting skills fell a little flat for me. Next year, I suggest that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association consider Robert Downey Jr. as host of the Golden Globes. His Best Actor speech for Sherlock Holmes was inspired, funny and charming.

How do you think Ricky Gervais did as host?

Most Awkward Award Show Moments (VIDEO)

by Mike Scalise, posted Jan 8th 2010 4:00PM
First she did a twirly hug, then made an odd, slurry joke about a kitten, spoke at a rate of about one word per minute and seemed to have her own personal hype man ('Precious' director Lee Daniels). And what did we do while we watched Mariah Carey's acceptance speech for Breakthrough Actress at last weekend's Palm Springs Film Festival?

We winced. We cringed. Then we watched it again.

Carey's, uh, loosened speech was the first genuinely awkward moment this award show season, but there were many actors, filmmakers, and musicians before her who've heard their name called, stepped to the podium, and made things a little weird for everyone.

Gretchen Mol and Other "Almost It" Girls: Starlets Who Never Quite Made It Big

by Daynah Burnett, posted Nov 22nd 2009 6:36PM
Just this past week, HBO announced the addition of Gretchen Mol to the cast of its upcoming series 'Boardwalk Empire,' starring Steve Buscemi as Atlantic City gangster Nucky Thompson. With a string of respectable supporting roles, Mol's made a career out of not-quite making it, starting with her famous 1998 'Vanity Fair' cover that asked the entirely premature question: "Is Gretchen Mol Hollywood's New It Girl?"

But though Mol didn't exactly fade into obscurity (she earned kudos for her eye-opening turn in the indie 'The Notorious Bettie Page' and co-starred in ABC's short-lived 'Life on Mars'), neither did she become the huge success the industry predicted she would be. What happened? Was it luck, timing, bad choices or simply a case of too much hype? Whatever that case, Mol's casting got us thinking about other "Almost It" girls that Hollywood left behind about as quickly as it tried to make them mega-stars.

Kelly Ripa is more popular than Oprah (when it comes to rental home-based surveys anyway)

by Bob Sassone, posted May 27th 2009 3:44PM
Kelly RipaI'm not sure if people were given just a select group of celebrities to choose from or they were allowed to choose anyone they wanted, but a new poll conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs says that more Americans would like to share a rental home with Kelly Ripa this summer than any other celebrity. After Ripa came the Obamas, then Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Oprah, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert.

That would be a great reality show though: Vacation Home. With those above guests? I'd watch that.

Who would you like to rent a home with?
Kelly Ripa282 (42.7%)
Oprah Winfrey39 (5.9%)
Jon Stewart153 (23.1%)
Stephen Colbert87 (13.2%)
Brad/Angelina61 (9.2%)
