Anna Nicole Smith
Daniel Smith was killed by a lethal drug mix, says pathologist
Lots of Anna Nicole Smith news today. Less than a day after Howard K. Stern revealed that he is the father of Smith's new daughter comes word that her 20-year-old son Daniel died from a lethal combination of methadone and two antidipressants.Cyril Wecht, who was hired by Smith and Stern to do a private autopsy on Daniel, said that toxicology tests revealed that methadone, Zoloft, and Lexapro were in Smith's system when he died on Sept. 10, two days after half-sister Dannie was born. The article makes a point to say that methadone is used to treat heroin addictions. But it is also used as a perscription pain killer that, if it is prescribed or taken incorrectly, can easily kill someone, as 20/20 reported last Friday.
"The fact that we have these drugs and the levels of the drugs overwhelmingly and most logically point to this being a tragic, accidental, drug-related death," Wecht told the AP. There are many questions left to answer, of course, but at least what killed the poor kid has been answered.
Lawyer reveals he is the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby
Just when you think that Anna Nicole Smith's life couldn't get any more convoluted, something happens to make things look even more complicated. Last night, Howard K. Stern, Smith's long-time lawyer, went on Larry King Live to discuss the death of Smith's son Daniel, and revealed to King that he is the father of her newborn baby girl. According to this article, Stern and Smith decided to move to the Bahamas to start a new life away from the media, and that he and Smith intend to marry "at some point." They decided to name their daughter Dannie Lynn Hope.Stern also gave some details of Daniel Smith's last hours. The day after he arrived in Nassau, he complained that he was really tired, then Anna Nicole soon noticed Daniel wasn't breathing. As resuscitation efforts were being done, "She stayed there and we were at the foot of the bed and she was hugging Daniel's legs," said Stern. "And she was praying to Jesus and she was telling Jesus to take her and not take Daniel." Daniel's exact cause of death is still being investigated.

Charges could be filed in the death of Anna Nicole's son - UPDATE
We should know in the next couple of days how exactly Anna Nicole Smith's 20 year-old son Daniel died. He was found dead in Anna Nicole's Nassau hospital room, three days after she gave birth to a daughter. Officials say they know the cause of death, but are awaiting toxicology test results before making it official.
But in an odd new twist, sources are saying that there was a third person in the room with Anna Nicole and Daniel Smith, and that some sort of criminal charges could be filed in connection with the death. They really aren't saying more than that, and I guess we'll have to wait til the end of the week to see exactly where this is going.
Anna Nicole Smith's son found dead
Daniel Smith, the twenty-year-old son of Anna Nicole Smith, was found dead yesterday in the Bahamas hospital where his mother had just had a baby. According to the AP, there is currently no word on how he passed away; Anna Nicole's attorney, Howard K. Stern, says the cause is under investigation.Remember that Daniel was a prominent player in Anna Nicole's reality series The Anna Nicole Show, so he's not unfamiliar to TV viewers. Of course, the death of such a young man, compared with the wacky life his mother leads, is going to make people speculate right away that drugs were involved. But at this point, no one knows the cause.
By the way, the picture above was taken by the AP in 1999, when Daniel was 13.

Son of Anna Nicole's ex-husband dies
E. Pierce Marshall, the man who battled Anna Nicole Smith for his father's fortune all the way to the Supreme Court, died this week. According to a family spokesperson, the cause of his death was "a brief and extremely aggressive infection." He died Tuesday in Dallas.Marshall is the son of the late oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II, who, at the age of 89, married 29-year-old Anna Nicole. He died one year later. The junior Marshall sued Anna Nicole Smith, saying he was his father's sole heir and Smith was only entitled to the $6 million in gifts she received from his father for the year they were married. The case made it all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, which sent it back to the same California Appeals Court that overturned the $88.5 million she was awarded in 2002 by a federal district judge.
Say it ain't so! Anna Nicole is pregnant
What happens when the scum of the earth mates with the scum of the earth? Various sources are reporting that former Guess model, reality television star and current bimbo Anna Nicole Smith is, in fact, pregnant. The father is supposedly Larry Birkhead, a paparazzi photographer. TMZ says she's trying to figure out how to make some money off the announcement before she actually confirms the pregnancy. Gee whiz. She's already rocking at parenthood. Well, at least she'll take the heat off of Britney Spears for a while. I'm just trying to look for a silver lining here, people.
**Update: Anna Nicole confirms the pregnancy.

Jon Stewart first touched upon the news of Anna Nicole
Smith's Supreme Court trial.
First trial to ever use the words "in consideration of the plaintiff's stupendous bazongas..." I thought it
was "gazongas". Hm. Maybe I don't know my different boobie-words as
well as I thought.Supreme Court supports Anna Nicole Smith
The United States Supreme Court has ruled that former Playboy playmate and reality TV star Anna
Nicole Smith can pursue part of her late husband's estate. I don't believe any of us thought that the nouns Anna Nicole
Smith and Supreme Court would ever be put in the same sentence, but stranger things have happened.
TV actors make Blackwell's 'Worst Dressed' list
Mr. Blackwell, the be-all and end-all of fashion, has some mean things to say about a lot of ladies who work in
television. Topping his Worst Dressed list this year is Britney Spears, and if you see her
outfit while shopping in Las Vegas recently, you'll understand why. Blackwell says, in his unusual
alliteration-meets-Dr. Seuss speak, "From Princess of Pop to the ultimate Fashion Flop!" I wonder what it
would be like to actually talk to this Mr. Blackwell in person? Here's the entire Worst Dressed list, along with Mr. Blackwell's snarky comments and exclamation marks:
Anna Nicole goes to court
Proving once again that the gal
with the best implants always stays afloat, Anna Nicole Smith has found herself an unlikely ally in her Supreme Court
battle for the kabillion dollar inheritance she believes her ex-husband wanted her to have. U.S. Solicitor
General Paul Clement, the Bush administration's top Supreme Court attorney, has filed arguments on behalf of Smith, and
is lobbying for permission to argue alongside Smith's attorney when the case goes before the judges on February 28.
Though Bush has more than a couple of things in common with Smith's long-dead benefactor – both were Yalies
-turned- Texas oilmen – this is apparently an issue not of fraternity, but of politics: the Supremes are only
hearing Smith's case because it maintains that federal court rulings should maintain superiority
over local judgements, and that's apparently an issue close to the Neo-con administration's heart. TV Squad Hot Topics
