Mischa Barton has not missed work on The Beautiful Life - TCA Report

by Joel Keller, posted Aug 4th 2009 7:49PM
The Beautiful Life When Ashton Kutcher, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Elle Macpherson and the rest of the panel for Kutcher's CW show The Beautiful Life, I was figuring the panel would field nothing but questions about Mischa Barton, given the recent publicity over her hospitalization and other personal issues. Surprisingly, though, the critics actually wanted to focus on the show itself, which is about the lives of young models and how they deal with the various pressures of that lifestyle.

However, in the middle of the panel, a Barton question did come up. Kutcher was quick to defend the actress, saying she was "never unavailable for a day of work." With all the young people in the cast, he thinks the "good thing about Mischa is that she's done it before," and can provide guidance.

Premise: The CW is moving back into another familiar neighborhood for their second '90s show reboot -- and apparently, the tony Melrose Place apartments are still affordable for the struggling actors/filmmakers/rising stars of L.A.

Am I the only one excited about Ashlee Simpson-Wentz on Melrose Place?

by Kona Gallagher, posted Mar 9th 2009 3:04PM
ashlee simpson wentzI've never seen Ashlee Simpson-Wentz act. I know she played a janitor or something on 7th Heaven, but I kind of missed the entire eleven-year run of that series. I've also never purchased and Ashlee Simpson album, so while I have heard her sing, or you know, not sing, I can't say I'm a huge fan. So I don't really know why I'm excited to hear she's joining the cast of CW's revamped Melrose Place, but I am.

I watched the original Melrose Place off and on, and while it was perfect mid-90s soapy goodness, I don't really feel that there's a burning need for its return. However, the new 90210 is doing pretty well for the fledgling CW, so I certainly can't blame them for taking the next logical step in bringing back its spinoff.

Dancing With The Stars: Week 6 results

by Brett Love, posted Apr 22nd 2008 11:12PM

Michael Patrick Gallagher and Alana Mallon - Riverdance
(S06E12) Coming off of performance night, conventional wisdom said that Marlee & Fabian would find themselves in the bottom two. The big question... Who would be joining them? We are now far enough into the competition that there are no more easy eliminations. And, as we saw, that other couple in the bottom two was somewhat of a surprise. Leading up to the elimination though, the bigger story might have been Shannon & Derek reacting to the judge's comments. All that, and a rundown of the entire results show, after the jump.

American Idol: Lisa had a bad day

by Lacy Hall, posted Mar 30th 2006 11:00AM

Daniel Powter probably didn't mean for it to happen, but "Bad Day" will forever be burned into my memory as the American Idol reject song. It has definitely secured its symbolic connotation with being eliminated in my mind. I actually heard it on the radio today, and for a moment, I had a passing sensation that I might get fired when I arrived to work. But I didn't get fired...

Lisa got fired. I'm sorta bummed for her, but we saw it coming. She had been in the bottom three for the past few weeks. If Kevin didn't suck so bad, it probably would have been her last week. When I first saw Lisa during audition week, I actually thought she could make it to the final three, but she just never improved upon that first audition. I don't really feel sorry for her though. I mean, she's still a teen and she's already been on Broadway. Her and Ayla Brown are both in the "forever doin' just fine" club. So, I don't feel too sorry for them.

Ace Young and Katharine McPhee were also in the bottom three...

Ashlee to perform on Oprah

by Adam Finley, posted Aug 26th 2005 11:28AM

Fans of Ashlee Simpson will be able to catch her performing on Oprah sometime during the first half of October before her new album I Am Me is released on October 18. As I reported earlier, the singer is also in talks with Saturday Night Live to appear on the show again after a mishap on stage during her last performance on the show revealed she had been lip syncing. Since then, there has been a lot of speculation as to whether or not she had a legitimate reason for lip syncing, but after hours of exhaustive research I came up with an answer: I don't care.
