Ashley Judd on 'Rachael Ray'Ashley Judd's new book, 'All That Is Bitter & Sweet: A Memoir,' has gained attention for Judd's revelations of child abuse and incest. Today on 'Rachael Ray' (weekdays, syndicated), Judd spoke about the perspective from which she wrote the book, explaining how she might see things differently from the rest of her family. It was important to her to find "a truth," but she acknowledged that isn't always "the truth."

"A family memory or a family gathering, to use a kind of funny analogy, can be a little bit like a car crash," said Judd. "Everybody's standing on a different corner, and when you ask them what happened that day, they will give you their point of view." She further explained, "That's a quote I found that I put in the book - don't say you have found 'the truth,' say you have found 'a truth.'"

That's a more complicated perspective than you'll get in most celebrity memoirs, many of which concentrate on the car crash.
