Wendy Williams Grills 'Basketball Wives' Starlet Draya Michele About Her Sex Life (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Nov 1st 2011 5:00PM
Wendy Williams didn't pull any punches in her interview with 'Basketball Wives' (weekdays, syndicated on Fox) starlet Draya Michele on Tuesday, confronting her with rumors about her promiscuity and asking why any "reasonable man" would ever consider marrying her after watching the show.

"Would you say you've dated over a dozen basketball players?" Wendy asked. She then followed up by asking her about the rumor, aired by other women on the show, that Michele had been with three basketball players in the same night.

Wendy Williams Is Embarrassed By Her Love of 'Basketball Wives' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Sep 16th 2011 6:00PM
Shaunie O'Neal on 'Wendy Williams'Wendy Williams might be described be as shameless, but there is one thing she's still somewhat embarrassed to admit. Friday on 'Wendy Williams' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), she begrudgingly admitted her love of 'Basketball Wives,' as Shaunie O'Neal was her guest.

"Because of all the fighting and wig pulling, I'm embarrassed as a thinking woman to say that I love it," said Williams. "But I love it, especially when it comes on in marathon form." O'Neal then explained what reality TV was, for those confused by the concept. "Things happen," she said, "and you know, I think that's the whole point of reality TV, is that you catch what happens when it happens. Am I always proud of what happens? No."

Laura Accepts Malaysia's Challenge to Fight on 'Basketball Wives LA' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 6th 2011 6:41AM
'Basketball Wives LA' (Mon., 8PM ET on VH1) picked up right where the series premiere left off. After Malaysia provoked Laura to fight, Laura acquiesced and proved to be far more than Malaysia could handle.

Ultimately, it took nearly everyone involved in the production of the show to tear the two apart. And this is the meet and greet lunch.

The only person who didn't get involved was Tanya, who hilariously sat at the table like there was nothing unexpected or interesting happening right behind her.

When asked about it, she basically told them that wasn't her scene and walked off the show -- or at least this episode. Time will tell if she returns, but she's not listed as a member of the cast on the show's site.

Jennifer Repeats Herself a Lot Fighting With Royce on 'Basketball Wives' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 23rd 2011 1:52AM
'Basketball Wives Reunion'I've never understood the desire to say the same thing over and over again in rapid succession during an argument. Jennifer does it here on this reunion of the 'Basketball Wives' (Mon., 8PM ET on VH1). The idea, apparently, is to keep repeating what you're saying in an attempt to drown out the other person who is talking.

But it never works out that way. In this instance, when Royce interrupted Jennifer's tirade about Royce taking her opinion to Twitter, Jennifer retorted to saying, "I'm talking!" over and over and over again.

It didn't even slow Royce down. "I don't give a damn if you talking because what you saying is s***," she shouted. "And your a** is jealous of the s*** that's coming out of your damned mouth."

Evelyn Yells at Meeka and Her Earring Designer on 'Basketball Wives' Reunion (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 16th 2011 12:42AM
Evelyn Lozada, 'Basketball Wives'If you thought the 'Basketball Wives' (Mon., 8PM ET on VH1) were going to be more civil on their reunion special, you clearly haven't been following the show. Evelyn in particular was in rare form, calling out Meeka for her fashion sense, accusing her of stealing her look from the other wives.

The argument settled on Meeka's earrings, which she insisted were custom-designed. She even had the designer in the audience. But even that wasn't enough to sway Evelyn, who turned and started accusing the designer of stealing the designs.

When the designer tried to defend herself, Evelyn dismissed her like gutter trash, calling for security and yelling at her to get off the stage with all kinds of colorful terms. See, it works like this. Evelyn can call you out as a cheat and a liar, but don't you dare speak back to her!

Evelyn Lozada Explains Her Jump from Basketball to Football Fiancee (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 15th 2011 5:45PM
Evelyn Lozada of 'Basketball Wives' on 'Good Day New York'Evelyn Lozada was once a basketball fiancée, engaged to former Boston Celtic Antoine Walker. And while she's still on the VH1 reality show 'Basketball Wives,' now she's a football fiancée. On 'Good Morning New York' (weekdays, 9AM ET on Fox), Lozada talked about the experience of being a two-sport fiancee, and explained how she met her current man, New England Patriots wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, on Twitter.

Clearly, she has a thing for athletes, but Lozada is quick to point out she's no groupie. "Listen, this is what I attract," she said, recalling meeting Walker at a party in New York. "I'm not one of those girls, I'm not sitting outside of your hotel or scouting where they're hanging out. It just happens. I was following Chad on Twitter, and we ended up meeting that way."

Evelyn and Chad Ochocinco Talk About Their Relationship on 'Basketball Wives' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 2nd 2011 2:31AM
'Basketball Wives'Chad Ochocinco took center stage, sort of, on 'Basketball Wives' (Mon., 8PM ET on VH1), showing himself to genuinely be into fiancée Evelyn. He's also pretty clearly into himself and enjoying his negative public image, but she's a part of it.

Their beach picnic was actually quite sweet. Chad was sweet as well, but Evelyn seemed a little reserved and concerned when talking about their high-profile relationship. Yes, there's a certain irony to her saying this while starring in a reality show because of that relationship, but there it is. It can still get uncomfortable inside a self-created bubble.

Chad's comments about his desires to be the most hated athlete of all time are certainly interesting. We could see it as him trying to embrace the cards he's been dealt and have some fun with it as best he can rather than struggle, but it comes across a little off-putting.

'Basketball Wives': An Enraged Tami Throws Herself at Meeka (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 26th 2011 3:09AM
'Basketball Wives'It looked like Tami was itching for a fight in that club on 'Basketball Wives' (Mon., 8PM ET on VH1). It also looked like she'd enhanced her senses and cat-like reflexes with alcohol. We think that's why she was able to leap over Suzie so quickly.

Suzie wasn't even touched. One second Tami was on her left telling Meeka, "I need to hear you," in her cattiest tone. The next she was on Suzie's right, on top of Meeka.

Maybe she was just respecting Suzie's wishes. "I don't wanna be in the middle," Suzie had just finished saying when Meeka was defending the accusation from Tami that she'd talked about her behind her back.

"I mean it's just heels and dresses and boobs flying everywhere," Shaunie described the scene later. "I'm like, are you serious?" This is a VH1 reality show, Shaunie. What did you expect?

Evelyn Upset Jennifer Didn't Have Her Back on 'Basketball Wives' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 19th 2011 7:09AM
Evelyn Lozada, 'Basketball Wives'After Evelyn Lozada heard the interview Jennifer Williams gave about her and her fiance Chad Ochocinco, she was livid. It was just the kind of drama the 'Basketball Wives' (Mon., 8PM ET on VH1) needed to spice up a trip to Rome. When sight-seeing isn't enough. fight amongst yourselves.

"You just always hear like stories about him," Jennifer said in reference to Ochocinco in the interview, "So I was just like, you know, you just got out of one bad situation, do you really want to go back down that road?"

After stewing for a bit, Evelyn finally confronted Jennifer about this, saying that Jennifer never has her back.

VH1 Examines the World of 'Football Wives'

by Scott Harris, posted Apr 15th 2010 10:15AM
Football WivesThis is a golden age for American sports fans. Dozens of cable networks bring every game from every conceivable league into our homes, while an even greater number of Web sites stream real time data to computers, phones and iPads to ensure that every possible statistic is available for number crunchers, fantasy owners and sabermetricians. But while the media coverage of sports seems infinite, there's only a finite number of events for them to cover, which may explain why enterprising outlets like VH1 are turning to a new field for their entertainment: sports wives.

Yes, according to Variety, the channel once known as Video Hits One is again embracing the world of reality celebutainment, this time with 'Football Wives.' The new series, which will follow the trials and hardships of a group of women married to NFL superstars, has been given a green light to the tune of an eight-episode order.
