Beau Mirchoff Talks Streaking in a Sock on 'Awkward.' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Sep 1st 2011 3:00PM
Beau Mirchoff of 'Awkward' on 'Good Day LA' The title of MTV's new show 'Awkward.' applies to more than just its lead character Jenna Hamilton's struggles through high school. According to Beau Mirchoff, who plays Jenna's obsession Matty McKibben, he's also had to shoot some particularly awkward scenes. Thursday on 'Good Day L.A.' (weekdays, 9AM PT on Fox), he talked about having to streak with several extras wearing nothing but a sock.

Mirchoff mentioned that the show can get away with being a little risque since it airs at 11PM. That included the perhaps unintentional Red Hot Chili Peppers homage where he had go streaking. "There was a group of us, like ten of us, extras and me, and we all had to wear a sock," he said. "That's all we wore."

'Awkward' Star Beau Mirchoff on Playing a Jock, Set Pranks and His Nude Scene

by Annette Bourdeau, posted Jul 19th 2011 10:00AM
beau mirchoff, awkwardReady for a fresh take on high school? MTV is betting that you are. The network is debuting 'Awkward' this week, a new teen comedy that has more in common with 'Freaks and Geeks' than 'One Tree Hill.'

The show does have one similiarity with the long-running 'One Tree Hill,' though: It stars 'OTH' alum Ashley Rickards as Jenna, an angst-ridden teen who becomes a pseudo-celebrity after an accident everyone mistook for a suicide attempt.

The dark comedy also stars Canadian hunk Beau Mirchoff ('Desperate Housewives') as Matty, Jenna's popular jock love interest. We caught up with Mirchoff to get the low-down on 'Awkward.' He also dishes about set pranks, his nude scene and which 'Desperate Housewife' turned him into a stammering school boy.

Desperate Housewives
(S06E01) "Just last month, she took something of mine." - The woman who didn't get Mike about the woman who did get him

Finally! We learned who Mike married in the season finale and, luckily, we didn't have to wait long to get the answer, as it was revealed within the first minute. Then again, if you read ABC's official description for the fourth episode of the season over the weekend, they spoiled the first scene for you, as they clearly stated whom Mike didn't marry.

I don't get why ABC couldn't be cryptic in their description or at least wait until tomorrow before releasing it, especially since they have been trying very hard to keep the name of the bride a secret.
