At this point, we're ready for 'Beavis and Butt-head' (Thu., 10PM ET on MTV) to take over a full weekend of broadcasting on MTV. They could talk about the shows 'MST3K'-style, mocking the entire lineup. To make it even better, the network should air a 'Jersey Shore' marathon to give them great material.

Some of the funniest bits so far on the new 'Beavis and Butt-head' have come from them making fun of Snooki and company. This week, they tackled her arrest for drunkenness on the beach, with Butt-head saying, "The cops thought she was a seal."

The dumbest duo in America took on Morgan Spurlock's 'Super Size Me' in the latest 'Beavis and Butt-head' (Thu., 10PM ET on MTV). Of course, all they knew about him was that he did that documentary and he has a hot wife now. So they decide to eat Burger World for a month to score chicks. They even convinced Mr. Van Driessen that they were doing this to make a point about childhood obesity, and got his support as well as credit in class for eating and getting fat.

It's just crazy that a show that can tackle a serious subject so well, and with humor, is the same place we can see the boys being inspired by Snooki to make a checklist for their ideal woman. Their criteria aren't nearly as strict as hers, or most men. They'd be satisfied with just one breast, for example.

This week, 'Beavis and Butt-head' (Thu., 10PM ET on MTV) was perhaps twice as funny than the premiere last week. Not only were the boys ripping on MTV's reality fare and music videos as acerbically and hilariously as ever, but the two shorts were far stronger this time around as well.

Last week's stories were almost too complex (the werewolf saga) and too simple (Beavis crying), while this week found a balance between the two. The boys don't need to do much to be hilarious. Sitting outside a girl's house waiting for her "hand," and then taking tech support phone calls is about as much complexity as we need for laughs.

David Letterman admitted to mourning the absence of 'Beavis and Butt-head' when the show went off the air from 1997 until last week. On 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS), he admitted to creator Mike Judge that he thought it would be cool to spend the day with the animated delinquents.

Judge, who also does most of the voices on the show, couldn't make that reality come true, but he could re-enact a scene from this week's episode, which aired only an hour and a half before 'Late Show.'

There is nobody more suited to poke fun at some of the programming on MTV than 'Beavis and Butt-Head' (Thu., 10PM ET on MTV). Thank goodness the show returned after far too many years off the air.

While they still seemed to be able to find music videos to skewer -- we laughed, and agreed, with their assessment of MGMT's 'Kids' video -- they also found themselves having to comment on reality fare like 'Jersey Shore.'

Unfortunately for them, they picked an episode without fighting or sex, as they noted, but rather featuring the cast learning how to make pizza.

MTV has produced a lot of iconic images over the years, but when it comes to audio, its finest achievement may be a pair of unmistakable giggles.

'Beavis and Butt-head' (10PM ET Thursday, MTV) and their instantly recognizable "heheh hehehes" are back, but the news that Mike Judge and the network were resuscitating the slacker duo was a little scary when it emerged last year.

I have many fond memories of the way Beavis and Butt-head fearlessly and sophomorically commented on the overblown music videos and pop-culture icons of the '90s, but in a few years, I'll be exiting television's most desirable demographic, and I probably left MTV's a decade or two ago. Would new-school Beavis and Butt-head have relevance for those unfamiliar with their breathy giggles or would the show return as a musty and ultimately irrelevant museum piece aimed at the nostalgia crowd?

Beavis and Butt-head took over the 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (Weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC) set so they could hijack Kimmel's scheduled interview with Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi of 'Jersey Shore.'

It was a cute skit, with Snooki gamely playing along as Butt-head, all decked out in a suit and sitting in Kimmel's chair, asked if she was DTF. At one point, Beavis, who was producing, held up a sign reading 'Talk About Boobs.'

"I had a question about your boobs," Butt-head said. When she asked what about them, he responded, "They're big."

In TV, there are two distinct worlds: our world and the cartoon world. So far, we've gotten along pretty well because, for the most part, cartoons have kept their animated butts in their world.

We don't allow it to happen very often because when cartoons try to invade the real world on those rare occasions, the transference is nightmarish. Their distorted animated features and expressions can make 'Eraserhead' look like an Olson Twins movie.

Mike Judge doesn't strike anyone as the kind of guy who's created a legendary animated duo and a cult hit movie. And, you certainly wouldn't size him up as a creative mind with two active series on first-run network TV.

The native-Texan is just too unassuming, soft-spoken and self-deprecating to show up at Comic-Con International last week to discuss TV's The Goode Family and King of the Hill alongside his new feature film, Extract.

But there he was in Press Room 28e, preparing for his panel and eyeing the Mythbusters Comic-Con bag I'd just picked up on the convention floor.

"I've got to get me one of those bags before I go out there," Judge said.

On behalf of a grateful TV Squad nation, I offered him mine. He accepted the bag graciously. Then we begin the interview.
