Season 4 of 'Being Erica:' 10 Things You Need to Know
by Annette Bourdeau, posted Sep 23rd 2011 3:00PM
It's about 4:00PM, and I'm watching Erica and Adam laugh over beers at a pub in Ireland.
Well, OK. Toronto is actually filling in for Ireland, and I'm watching Erin Karpluk and Adam Fergus film a scene for Season 4 of 'Being Erica.' Yes, all you Adam haters. He's back in Season 4, and happier than ever. And Adam Fergus, the affable actor who plays the handsome Irishman, hopes that those of you who didn't take to him at first have come around. "He challenges her, it's hard for audiences to get over that," he says.

There's still hope, though. Fergus says his Twitter mentions got friendlier and friendlier as Season 3 progressed. If he has his way, by the end of Season 4 everyone will be firmly aboard Team Adam. He's certainly got his work cut out for him. "People have very strong opinions about who they like for Erica," observes Karpluk, adding that people still ask her about Kai (Sebastian Pigott).

When Erica Strange returns for season 3 of SOAPnet's cult hit 'Being Erica,' she's running from the police and cutting open a vein (figuratively) as she deals with the depressing realization that almost everyone in therapy must face: She is not her doctor's only patient. The drama/fantasy series tells the tale of Erica Strange, who, with the help of the mysterious Dr. Tom, is able to travel back into time so she can re-examine past events that have shaped the woman she's become.
At the conclusion of season 2, viewers saw Erica's life was left in disarray. No job, no boyfriend. Now Erica moves in a new direction as she enters a form of group therapy where she is introduced to Adam, played by new series regular Adam Fitzpatrick, who's caring for his gravely ill mother.
We spoke to star Erin Karpluk about what to expect from season 3, which premieres tonight at 11PM ET on SOAPnet.

Canadian TV export 'Being Erica,' which follows the misadventures of a woman in therapy, is returning to SOAPnet for its third season. Erica Strange (played by Erin Karpluk) doesn't just "go" to therapy; instead, her therapist makes it possible for her actually travel back in time to relive the events in question. Joining Erica this season is Adam Fitzgerald (played by Adam Fergus), another time-traveling patient -- and more than likely a love interest.TV Squad took a moment to chat with Karpluk and Fergus about what this upcoming season has in store, why this show seems to have international appeal, and whether or not romance blooms at therapy.

Get ready to see a lot more of Brandon Jay McLaren. The incredibly-busy Vancouver-born actor is best known for his roles on 'Harper's Island' and 'The Best Years,' and now he's popping up everywhere from 'Being Erica' to 'Tron:Legacy' to two new TV series from SyFy and AMC. He's also in the critically-acclaimed horror/comedy 'Tucker and Dale vs Evil,' which is set to come out this winter. You'll get a hearty dose of McLaren throughout Season 3 of 'Being Erica.' He plays Lenin, the free spirit love interest of Erica's uptight sister Samantha (Joanna Douglas). TV Squad caught up with him to get the scoop on Season 3, and to chat about the zillion projects he has on the go. 'Lost Girl': Everything You Need to Know
by Annette Bourdeau, posted Sep 7th 2010 7:30PM

Just when you thought vampires were the sexiest supernaturals out there, Showcase is debuting 'Lost Girl' -- a show about a hot young succubus named Bo, played by Anna Silk ('Being Erica', 'Billable Hours'). Just like her 'True Blood' counterparts, Bo has to deal with personal problems while juggling her powers. Bo has seductive superpowers; she can manipulate humans with her touch.
Even though Bo is a succubus (a type of 'fae') she was raised by humans, so she isn't clear about what she is and what she's capable of. When the fae leaders discover her, they are baffled that she has been off of their radar for so many years. The show co-stars Kristen Holden-Ried (a man's name, he starred in 'The Tudors') as a fae/cop who finds himself falling in love with Bo. She's drawn to him, too, but she's also attracted to her pretty blonde doctor. That's right, it's a bisexual love triangle.
Lost already? Don't worry. We stopped by the 'Lost Girl' set just outside of Toronto, where Silk and Holden-Reid filled us in on everything you need to know to keep up with this complex-but-totally-engrossing new show. At the time of our visit, Silk looked more adorable than bad-ass, in a pretty blue dress with scuffed-up sneakers. She and Holden-Reid were filming an "undercover" scene at a country club, trying to blend in to dig up details.

It seems Canada's flagship channel, CBC, is sticking to its guns. Or roots. Or skates. The TV station announced its fall 2010 lineup last week, and there are a lot of familiar faces for Canadians to watch come autumn. Many fan faves are returning, and there are a few newbies showing up on the block.
Highlights include the highly-anticipated new season of 'Battle of the Blades', the debut of the as-yet-untitled Debbie Travis primetime show, and a new half-hour comedy based on the movie 'Men With Brooms'.
Why You Should Give 'Being Erica' a Try
by Allison Waldman, posted Feb 28th 2010 2:01PM
There are so many channels on television today that you may not have noticed a wonderful little hour drama on SOAPNet called 'Being Erica.' If you like 'Drop Dead Diva.' If you go for the characters on 'Glee.' If you care about stories for women but don't go for the Lifetime TV movies. If you can appreciate the differences between American TV and Canadian TV, 'Being Erica' is for you.Starring Erin Karpluk as Erica Strange, a 32-year-old literary editor and wannabe writer, she's a mass of complications in the tradition of all romantic comedy heroines. But 'Being Erica' has a fun, mystical twist to the standard situations we've seen on other shows before.

'In the Motherhood' (8PM, ABC) series premiere
Fake pregnancies, 'mannies' and staycations ... all just part of a day in the life of 'In the Motherhood,' an adaptation of the Internet comedy about three friends with radically different styles of parenting.
Rosemary (Megan Mullally) is the most free-spirited of the bunch, which makes it all the more surprising that her teenage son Syd is a responsible kid.
Her newly-divorced pal Jane (Cheryl Hines) struggles with her caring, but quirky manny Horatio (Horatio Sanz), while Jane's uptight sis Emily is finding out that, despite all her efforts to build the perfect life with the perfect husband in the perfect home, her children are not at all perfect.
