'Cougar Town' - 'What Are You Doin' In My Life?' Recap
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Mar 4th 2010 1:05AM
(S01E16) "That woman happens to be my family." - Laurie about JulesI've been enjoying these last few episodes of 'Cougar Town' because the supporting characters have been fleshed out and have become a more central part of the show. This week was no different, as we not only met Laurie's mother but we also learned new tidbits about all characters, including Jules' real estate nemesis, Barb.
Another upside of this week's installment was the appearance of Beverly D'Angelo as Laurie's mother. Not only was it great casting because D'Angelo does look like she could be Busy Philipps' mother, but also because the 'National Lampoon' actress had the comedic acting skills needed to play Sheila, a superficial and bad mother.
The Super Bowl Commercials: The Best
by Kona Gallagher, posted Feb 7th 2010 11:22PM
Look, I knew as soon as I saw the promo for 'The Late Show with David Letterman' that featured Letterman, Oprah and Jay Leno, that nothing was going to top that. There was just no way anything could be better than that 15-second ad. While I was correct, there were some commercials for non-CBS products that put a smile on my face. Of course there were many others that made me groan, wince or sigh, but Bob's handling those. The videos below are from Hulu, because they were the first ones available. If you can't view them due to location restrictions, they will all be up at Fanhouse.
Watch for the Griswolds during the Super Bowl
by Allison Waldman, posted Jan 31st 2010 10:00AM
Apparently we're in the midst of a Chevy Chase revival. Not only is the former Saturday Night Live star, the first to become a breakout movie star, currently making good on the NBC sitcom Community, he's getting commercial work, too. Not just the MyTouch one that's been around for a while -- with other SNL'ers Darrell Hammond, Dana Carvey and Molly Shannon -- but now he's going to star in a Super Bowl ad.
Actually co-star. In a spot for HomeAway.com, Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo will be the Griswolds again, reprising their National Lampoon Vacation characters.
