EXCLUSIVE First Look: Billy Ray Cyrus Visits '90210'
by Maggie Furlong, posted Nov 4th 2011 11:00AM
'90210' is headed to Sin City, and we've got the exclusive first look at guest star Billy Ray Cyrus.Next week's episode, titled 'Vegas, Maybe?' (Tues., Nov. 8, 8PM ET on The CW), finds Naomi going all the way to Las Vegas to try to impress Austin's (Justin Deeley) dad, country music superstar Judd Ridge, played by Cyrus.
Also guest starring: 'Jersey Shore' roommate Vinny Guadagnino, who's not playing himself but rather another "celebrity" the guys meet at the pool.
And it sounds like Vegas gets everyone in the mood to gamble a bit, with Liam joining a celebrity poker tournament and Dixon and Adrianna's flirtation growing even stronger. (Ugh.) However, the biggest wow moment goes to Teddy (departing series star Trevor Donovan), who may or may not be going to the chapel to tie the knot with boyfriend Shane.

Vicki thought she was merely a guest at a military-sponsored event saluting her company, Shangri-La, where she works as a secretary. The company helps the disabled and disadvantaged with living, working, and special needs. Vicki also has a son in the National Guard, which is probably why she got excited when she saw Billy Ray Cyrus, host of 'Surprise Homecoming' (Mondays, 10PM on TLC).Her son, 20-year-old National Guard Specialist Jesse Caldwell, on the other hand, knew what was about to happen, and was getting anxious. "I'm just getting more excited and more excited," he said. "To be honest, it just seems like it's just taking forever for it to get here." There was a formation of Guardsman standing several yards from Vicki, and Cyrus invited her to give the command to "open ranks."

'Surprise Homecoming': Soldier Sings 'Hallelujah' During Emotional Reunion With His Kids (VIDEO)

It's heartbreaking to see kids separated from their parents by military deployment. For 6-year-old Latavia and 8-year-old Lawrence, the experience was especially trying, since their dad, Sgt. Lawrence Lee, is a single parent. Monday on 'Surprise Homecoming' (Mondays, 10PM on TLC), the Lee family had an emotional reunion at church.Sgt. Lee had been in Iraq on a yearlong deployment, and his kids obviously missed him dearly. On Monday's show, Sgt. Lee waited with a microphone outside the church doors, made his grand entrance singing 'Glory Glory, Hallelujah' (or 'Battle Hymn of the Republic').

Hoda and Billy Ray Cyrus Compete in Earth Day Quiz Fiasco (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 15th 2011 2:55PM
'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) is a news and talk show, not a game show, which has never been more apparent than Friday's Earth Day Quiz segment, featuring contestants Hoda Kotb and Billy Ray Cyrus.Kotb and Cyrus never seemed quite sure what they were doing or what the questions were. They each gave the same wrong answer to one question, and Cyrus seemed reluctant to use his buzzer, randomly shouting answers. When presented with two chopping blocks, one plastic and one wood, Kotb asked, "For what?" When asked which item - drier lint, moldy bread, tea bags, or Cheez Whiz - shouldn't make your compost pile, Cyrus shouted "tea bread."

Chelsea Handler continues to get her guests to open up about all sorts of things on the air that you'd never catch them talking to Dave or Jay about on 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!). It started innocuously enough with 'Saturday Night Live's Jason Sudeikis. With Miley Cyrus coming to the show, Handler asked Sudeikis if he planned to reprise his Billy Ray Cyrus impression for her appearance. It certainly seems likely that we'll get another installment of the recurring "Miley Cyrus Show" sketch, which features Sudeikis as Miley's father.
But Sudeikis took the conversation in a whole new direction. "I assume you mean the impression," he said. "Just for clarification. Because that is the nickname for my ... " But then he had to explain exactly how the three word name combines to described his man-parts.

by Nick Zaino, posted Feb 15th 2011 4:50PM

Julie Chen broached the subject after the panel had talked about Billy Ray Cyrus and his regrets about 'Hannah Montana,' a show featuring his daughter, Miley. Gosselin had no such regrets. The big difference, she said, was that 'Montana' was scripted, whereas 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' was not. "We're living," she said. "The kids just run in and out of the frame and they live. I don't feel like I can really relate a whole lot to what he's saying. I'm still the parent, on-camera, off-camera."
