'Community' Is Hiring! Filling the Greendale Yearbook with More Awesome Human Beings

by AOL TV Staff, posted Jul 28th 2011 11:00AM
It's been a busy week for the casting directors of 'Community.' Greendale Community College is in hiring mode, and the faculty is freshly stocked with two new, sufficiently awesome (and yes, a little random) teachers: Michael K. Williams, coming on board to play a fresh-out-of-jail biology professor, and John Goodman, the new vice dean of the school of air conditioning repair.

While neither actor seems quite perfect, tonally, for the offbeat, referential comedy, the choices may prove brilliant for that very same reason.

With that in mind, we got to thinking about some other slightly plausible, square-peg-in-round-hole teacher choices that might just be crazy enough to work.

Even if they don't take any of our casting advice, that faculty lunchroom is about to get even weirder, in the best way possible.

Bob Saget Wants to Submit a Tape of Himself to 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 15th 2011 12:45PM
Bob Saget, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'Bob Saget isn't proud of the story he told on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), but he must have felt it was important for him to share it. He left absolutely no detail out, and did a masterful job of building a growing sense of dread, anticipation and suspense as the story progressed.

From the details of him wearing a robe and Ugg slippers to the fact that there was a ladder near a pool, and a jacuzzi was involved, we had an idea of where it was going. But still the exact scenario was pretty funny.

To hang a hummingbird feeder, he hooked a wire to a hammer and climbed the ladder to throw the hammer and wire over a tree branch. "I threw it, the hammer came off and came at me and I fell off the ladder into the jacuzzi," he admitted.

Topher Grace and Craig Ferguson Discuss the Dirty Side of Bob Saget (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 9th 2011 5:16AM
Topher Grace, 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson'When you go on 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS), you have to be prepared to talk about absolutely anything. That's why it should come as no surprise to anyone tuning in to see Topher Grace talking with Craig Ferguson about comedian Bob Saget.

Does Grace have a project with Saget coming up? "Um, I think we met ... once. He's like really dirty, right?" And he admitted to probably growing up with Saget's sitcom 'Full House.'

That's all the connection you need. And Saget's dirtiness in fact became the topic of discussion. "He gets in trouble with that," Ferguson said, "Because Bob does stand-up and ... people go to see the show because they've seen him on ['Full House']. And then he starts talking and they're like, 'Ooooh.'"

Katie Couric Went on a Blind Date With ... Bob Saget (VIDEO)

Katie Couric Went on a Blind Date With ... Bob SagetIn the annals of "unexpected blind dates," Katie Couric plus Bob Saget is about as unexpected as Jon Stewart and Jennifer Aniston. But both of these things actually really happened. It just goes to show that romance can bloom anywhere. (Well, sort of.)

On 'The Late Late Show' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS), Ms. Couric discussed her first date with Mr. Bob Saget -- famous for being the star of 'Full House,' the host of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' -- as well as for being a surprisingly dirty stand-up comedian. Host Craig Ferguson was intrigued. Did things work out on the date?

Bob Saget Goes on a Midnight Search for Sasquatch (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Dec 1st 2010 10:01AM
Bob Saget Goes on a Midnight Search for SasquatchBob Saget is an interesting guy. He's best known as the über-clean-cut star of 'Full House,' and the equally clean-cut host of 'America's Funniest Home Videos.' But outside the world of mainstream TV, he's known for something else. Mr. Saget is, in fact, a legendarily profane stand-up comic. It just goes to show that everyone has hidden depths.

His new series 'Strange Days With Bob Saget' is all about exploring hidden depths -- his own, and other people's. Bob tracks down weird subcultures, and shows a charming willingness to take part in the most bizarre activities.

On the latest episode (Tue., 10PM ET on AETV), Saget meets up with a group of hunters who spend their free time searching for Sasquatch -- or "Bigfoot," if you prefer. Bob is skeptical, but then -- while standing out in the forest in the middle of the night -- he hears a terrifying noise. And then he hears an even more terrifying one.

Bob Saget Talks 'Strange Days,' Being Like Danny Tanner, Loving 'HIMYM' & More

by Maggie Furlong, posted Nov 30th 2010 8:00PM
Strange Days with Bob SagetBob Saget is one of those guys that's kind of hard to pin down. He rose to fame on 'Full House' as clean-cut, aw shucks single dad Danny Tanner, followed by a stint hostng 'America's Funniest Home Videos.' Not long after, he got back to his stand-up roots and shocked a lot of people with his curse-filled rants and borderline inappriate stories about the Olsen twins, his former TV daughters.

Then came a bit part on 'Entourage,' playing "Bob Saget," a fictitious (or is it?) portrayal of himself. The cleanest thing on his recent resume is his heard-but-never-seen role as the 'How I Met Your Mother' narrator. So what's the real Bob Saget like?

We'll get to see glimpses of that on his new show 'Strange Days with Bob Saget' (premieres Tues., Nov. 30, 10PM ET on A&E), a reality series following Bob on a bucket list full of crazy adventures.

I caught up with Bob Saget the nice guy, Bob Saget the teller of jokes (from the corny to the dirty), Bob Saget the motorcycle club member and Bob Saget the dustbuster to hear more about it.

Bob Saget Ditches Raunch, Decides to Work Clean (VIDEO)

Fans of Bob Saget know his comedy sometimes runs a bit blue. On 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated), Saget said he's decided to ditch raunchy humor in favor of clean jokes. The comedian seemingly made this decision while on tour after several dirty jokes got him accused of misogyny.

John Stamos Talks Friendship with Cloris Leachman (VIDEO)

John Stamos Talks Cloris Leachman on 'Chelsea Lately'Does John Stamos have an especially intimate relationship with Cloris Leachman? Maybe she'd like us to think so. Chelsea Handler has a picture of Leachman at the actor's birthday party. They're sitting side by side. He has his arm around her; she's flipping off the camera. What's the story?

Stamos had recently hosted a roast of comedian (and 'Full House' crony) Bob Saget, he explained on 'Chelsea Lately' (weeknights, 11PM ET on E!). "She came out and she said, 'I'm not here to roast Bob Saget. I'm here to f--- John Stamos.'"

He had a birthday party soon after, to which Leachman arrived very late. "She was great," Stamos said. "She sang to me ... She flipped off the camera, we had sex, and she went home," he deadpanned.

Top 5 Celebrity Narrators in Television History

by Brad Trechak, posted Oct 18th 2010 2:55PM
Arrested DevelopmentThey're heard, but not seen. TV show narrators have set the scene for viewers for decades, their familiar voices cluing us into what to expect (or how to react) to certain plot developments. And more often than not, these off-screen narrators are well-known celebrities -- making their comments and asides all the more familiar and comforting.

While compiling a list of our five favorite celebrity narrators, only two stipulations were used: First, this list only deals with scripted american programming. Documentaries don't count, nor do any overseas imports. Second, the narrator in question can not have appeared on screen as a regular character on the series (although in some instances, the narrator is a future version of the main character, played by a different actor).

That being said, here are our five ...

A&E Invests in 'Intervention' Spinoff and Celebrity Reality Series

by Laura Prudom, posted May 5th 2010 4:40PM
David Hasselhoff - Apr. 23 - Getty ImagesDon't hassle the Hoff, especially when he's reaching for new heights of reality fame with his whole family in tow.

According to the Live Feed, A&E just announced their upcoming programming slate for advertisers, and it seems that the Arts and Entertainment Network is forgoing the "art" in favor of a slew of new reality shows fronted by some (admittedly entertaining) celebrities.

Front and center is a new David Hasselhoff series, in which the 'Baywatch' star turned reality judge attempts to help his four daughters break into the recording industry. The as-yet untitled project has been ordered for 10 episodes in the fourth quarter. 'Strange Days with Bob Saget,' starring -- you guessed it -- Bob Saget, has been given a six-episode pickup for later this year. The series will feature the actor-comedian immersing himself in strange cultures, practices and occupations.

It's one of the saddest moments of youth: when the home you grew up in is sold off to strangers. And now it's about to happen to the house that all America grew up with.

Yes, folks, it's true: the house featured on the beloved family sitcom 'Full House' is being offered up for sale to the highest bidder. According to NBC Los Angeles, the stately Victorian home, which was featured in the opening credits for most of the show's eight seasons, is on the block with an asking price of $4.1 million.
