Bonnie Hunt Shows Commercial Starring Young Brian Austin Green (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Apr 21st 2010 4:00PM
Bonnie Hunt breaks out a commercial starring Brian Austin Green that he made as a child for Cocoa Krispies on 'The Bonnie Hunt Show' (weekdays, syndicated).

In the commercial, a very young Green espouses the great chocolatey taste of the cereal, and even appears with the iconic elf trio Snap, Crackle and Pop.

Brian Austin Green Likes Lois Lane on 'Smallville' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Apr 18th 2010 10:20PM
Brian Austin Green on 'Smallville'One of the downsides to hanging out with Superman is that you may occasionally get hit on by a supervillain. On 'Smallville' (Fri., 8PM ET on The CW), Lois Lane (Erica Durance) gets a taste of this when Metallo (Brian Austin Green) puts the moves on her. Sure, he's cute. But he's a cyborg with a Kryptonite-powered heart who hates Superman -- not really the best catch.

'Smallville' - 'Upgrade' Recap

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 17th 2010 2:01AM
'Smallville' - 'Upgrade'
(S09E17) Five episodes left in this ninth season, so General Zod needs to start putting together whatever his endgame plan is going to be. Steps were definitely taken toward that this week, but first we got the return of one of Superman's deadliest foes: Metallo.

It's always nice to see Brian Austin Green, and he's actually quite effective in this role. I was a little disappointed in how quickly they were able to re-establish his character in whatever way they needed him for this week, but I'll forgive it because it was so much fun seeing almost everyone else turned on their ears.

Checkmate and The Wall took a break from intimidating everyone and pushing Tess around, which freed Tess up to make an unexpected alliance. Also missing from the fun was Green Arrow, but there was plenty of action without them.

Brian Austin Green Returning to 'Smallville'

by Scott Harris, posted Nov 23rd 2009 10:55AM
Eat your heart out, Iron Man, because it looks like Metallo is coming back to town.

According to the Ausiello Files, Brian Austin Green will be returning to 'Smallville' to reprise the role of supervillain Metallo, a cyborg who is powered by an artificial Kryptonite heart. When we last saw the character, who made his debut during this season's September 25 premiere, he was seemingly killed when his heart was accidentally removed from his chest. But like most comic book characters, it appears that he has a superior health plan.

Why college students don't belong on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire

by Joel Keller, posted Nov 2nd 2009 4:29PM
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire logoSomething about the syndicated Who Wants to Be a Millionaire seems off this season. It might be the gimmicky "Tournament of Ten" that they've been building towards; it starts next week. Or it might be the bumped-up money tree they've instituted, paired with tougher questions; now it's easier to get the first safety level (now $5,000) but much more difficult to get to the second (still $25,000).

But what might also be off is that the producers have been mixing in some very young contestants into the show, and when they're on, the program screeches to a halt.

Why? They're too young. Even if they're the most book-smart kids on the planet, their knowledge of pop culture and historic events goes back maybe ten years, and those questions are a large part of the stack most contestants get.

Smallville: Metallo

by Mike Moody, posted Oct 3rd 2009 12:20AM
smallville metallo review the cw green(S09E02) And just like that, Clark Kent returned from the dead. And all it took was the impossibly astute observation of a homicidal cyborg.

It's a shame that Brian Austin Green's John Corben, aka Metallo, was relegated to freak of the week status. Seeing him stick around to possibly become Clark's rival at the Planet and on the mean streets of Metropolis would have been fun.

As he proved during his stint on TSCC, Green's a talented guy who feels right at home kicking ass on a sci-fi show. He did a fine job here, even if the material he was given would make a Saturday morning cartoon script read like high art. But sadly, this ep was less about Metallo and more about Clark learning that dumping his friends and skulking on rooftops probably won't make him a better hero. (More on that in a sec.)

Brian Austin Green to visit Smallville

by Brad Trechak, posted Jun 18th 2009 9:31AM
Brian Austin GreenWell, the corpse has turned cold for only a second but already Brian Austin Green has gotten more work since the cancellation of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Green's scheduled to play the villain Metallo for at least two upcoming episodes of Smallville.

The man who was fighting cyborgs in a previous show is now playing one. Green must be a fan of sci-fi and comic books and the like since his recent roles reflect that.

I highly suspect that the upcoming season of Smallville is its last, particularly given its new Friday night timeslot. The creators have already thrown a ton of villains at Clark that in theory he shouldn't be meeting until he becomes Superman.

In the comics, Metallo has a Kryptonite heart which powers his cybernetic body. Assuming the show continues that character trait (and it likely would), wouldn't anybody in proximity of Metallo suddenly gain super powers? I'm just saying.

Brian Austin Green isn't joining One Tree Hill

by Mike Moody, posted Jun 11th 2009 12:02PM
brian austin green, terminator, one tree hillBrian Austin Green won't be fighting Skynet or returning to prime time soaps next fall.

Last week, we reported that the former Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star was in talks to join the The CW teen drama One Tree Hill. Nerds like me, who came to love Green as TSCC's badass, cyborg-killing Derek Reese, were crushed. But it's time for those nerd hearts to heal. It turns out Green's reps didn't make a deal, and he won't be moving to One Tree Hill.

Instead, OTH has turned to Lipstick Jungle's Robert Buckley, who recently showed up on the network's much-praised but still canceled drama Privileged. Buckley will play the young, sexy sports agent role that was offered to Green.

Brian Austin Green in talks to join The CW's One Tree Hill

by Mike Moody, posted Jun 2nd 2009 11:02AM
Brian Austin Green in talks for One Tree HillBeverly Hills 90210 alum Brian Austin Green earned a number of new fans playing the tough, militaristic Derek Reese on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Now, with TSCC officially canceled, Green is heading back to the world of prime time soaps. The actor is currently in talks to join the cast of The CW's One Tree Hill.

According to Variety, Green will potentially play a sports agent who is "enjoying the spoils that come from being a wealthy, handsome single guy" on the veteran drama.

It looks like One Tree Hill might be looking to Green to fill a void left by the departures of stars Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton. Green certainly has Murray beat in the charisma department, and I'm sure the show's fans -- I assume they are mostly young women -- will welcome him with open arms. But I can't help but feel disappointed by this news.
