I Watched the 'Harry's Law' Season Premiere So You Don't Have To
by Maggie Furlong, posted Sep 21st 2011 3:15PM
'Harry's Law' sounded like a great idea in theory: Take the proven success of a quirky David E. Kelley legal drama (who didn't love 'Boston Legal' and 'Ally McBeal'?), add Kathy Bates in her first series regular TV role ever and voila, right? Wrong. While I admittedly didn't watch the entire first season of the show last year (it was that bad), I saw enough to know that the show was very proud of going over the top in a way that men dressed as flamingos and women hallucinating dancing babies would shake their heads at.
Harriet Korn's legal office-slash-shoe shop, her ragtag team and her insatiable need to disrupt courtrooms with nonsense asides and clever comebacks were truly cringe-worthy at times.
But somehow, the show is back for a second season, with some castmembers leaving, a few tweaks and several fresh faces to hopefully turn things around. Will it work? I took one for the team and watched tonight's 'Harry's Law' Season 2 premiere (Wed., Sept. 21, 9PM ET on NBC) so you don't have to.
Brittany Snow, Aml Ameen Exit 'Harry's Law,' Chloe Sevigny Books Transgender Role and More Casting News

When 'Harry's Law' returns to NBC for a second season (yep, that's happening), it'll be missing two of its young stars.According to TVLine, Brittany Snow and Aml Ameen have left the show as series regulars in what is reported as a "mutual decision." The two may guest star during the second season.
'Harry's Law' stars Kathy Bates as Harriet "Harry" Korn, a patent legal eagle turned defense attorney. The dramedy comes from David E. Kelley, so you know there's a quirk: Harry operates out of an old shoe store.
'American Dreams' veteran Snow played Jenna, Harry's secretary. Ameen, known for the UK series 'The Bill,' played Malcolm, a client-turned-paralegal.

Chelsea Handler zoomed in on only one aspect of Brittany Snow's character on 'Harry's Law.' She then took the opportunity to play matchmaker with a staff member on 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!).It was Snow's relationship on the show that got Handler's attention. "You got a little jungle fever, girl."
Snow struggled a little with what language to use talking about her relationship with Malcolm (Aml Ameen) on the show. Handler had no such qualms. "You have a thing for black guys," she said.

(S02E24) "If you think we're bad, you should have seen our parents." - Gossip Girl about those who complain about today's youth
After weeks, if not months, of hearing about it, we finally saw what the Gossip Girl spin off could be like. Set in the 80s, the spin off would star Brittany Snow as a young Lily, Krysten Ritter as her sister Carol, and Andrew McCarthy as their father. The action would, as expected, follow Lily's life as a young woman trying to make sense of the world and find her place in it.
This past week, the Internet has been filled with reports that the potential spin off was dead even before this week's episode aired. Other reports claimed that there was still a chance for the spin off to be picked up and find its way on The CW's 2009-2010 schedule. How about we don't listen to those reports and make our own decision on if the network should give the spin off a chance?
