LeAnn Rimes Gets Emotional, Weeps Over the Past Year's Events, Sings a Christmas Song (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Nov 30th 2010 1:14AM
"Last year was a really tough year for me," says singer LeAnn Rimes. And that's the truth. The fallout from her divorce and her well-publicized affair with actor Eddie Cibrian continues. This October, she made waves by appearing in 'Shape Magazine,' of all things. Some readers were upset that an "adulteress" was in the magazine, the editor apologized for putting her on the cover, LeAnn was angered by the apology, there was an apology for the apology ... it got weird. It was a traumatic end to the year. Rimes' divorce was finalized in June, but people haven't gotten over the affair involving "America's Sweetheart." On the first-ever 'CMA Country Christmas' special (Mon., 9:30PM ET on ABC). LeAnn reflected on past events -- since that's what the holidays are for; it's a time of reflection as well as gift-giving. The singer also shed some tears, which hopefully isn't what the holidays are for.
Ms. Rimes discussed the rough time she's had, saying that she sent out a special Christmas letter to the friends who were "there for [her] night and day" during her divorce and subsequent "scandalous" period. While she talked about this, the singer's eyes started to well up. "I am so gonna start crying," she said. And then she did.
