The Boondocks is back for a third season
by Brad Trechak, posted Dec 29th 2009 10:26AM
The Boondocks will be returning to television for a third season on Adult Swim after a two year hiatus. It was announced by creator Aaron McGruder on his MySpace page.Nothing official has been announced by Adult Swim yet, so this can only be taken with a grain of salt. On the other hand, the creator of the show could be considered a fairly reliable source. McGruder did mention on Twitter that an airdate was determined but wasn't allowed to say exactly when it was.
If you've never watched The Boondocks, I urge you to try and catch it online. It's funny, but not in an in-your-face sight-gag sort of way. The humor is more intelligent and subtle than anything on Fox's Sunday night lineup. The show is an example of personality-driven humor (in this case of the African-American variety) meeting the anime style of cartoon and is the best example that I know of the merging of East and West animation.
Do you know the Jedi Song?

I haven't watched The Clone Wars. I'm officially done with that franchise and don't want to get into a new cartoon (or that live-action show that's coming up). Star Trek, yes. Star Wars, no. But it has its fans, and this video celebrates that fact ... or something. It will make kids chuckle (maybe) but older fans grit their teeth and say "maybe that Ewoks song wasn't that bad after all." The show returns October 2.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars gets a subtitle and a premiere date
by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 25th 2009 1:06PM
Lucasfilms told us at Comic-Con that the new season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars promised more sophisticated storylines and higher stakes. It is war, after all. And they promised us bounty hunters. One of the most popular classes of characters in the franchise was conspicuously absent during the first season. To drive this point home, they've even added a snazzy subtitle to the title of the show for this season, as well as giving it a premiere date. The action starts Friday, October 2 with the one-hour premiere of Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Rise of the Bounty Hunters.
That follows the pattern of the films, if you think about it. While the first film was technically Episode IV: A New Hope, it was only branded as Star Wars. The stakes were raised and things got much better with the next installment, complete with official subtitle. Rise of the Bounty Hunters even sounds like an episode in the film franchise.
