Hallmark Channel for sale
by Chris Thilk, posted Aug 19th 2005 10:36AM
Crown Media Holdings, the owner of the Hallmark Channel, is looking to put the cable network up for sale or license it's operations to a third party. The network, known for it's family-safe programming, is the sole cable asset of Crown, and that's part of the reason the company is now putting it on the block. In an age of mega-corporations owning multiple stations and spreading the operating costs around trying to run a single outlet isn't cost efficient enough., despite the fact that Hallmark's all-ages programming has been seen as a safe-haven for advertisers looking to avoid controversy.TV Squad Hot Topics
