"It was our goal to make the least sexiest sex scene that's ever been caught on film, and I really believe that we succeeded," she explained. "I don't think we could have achieved it if it was some guy I didn't know."
The familiarity she had with Timberlake allowed them to shake off any jitters they might have about a sex scene and turn it into the awkward beast they were looking for.
Instead, someone off-stage was on hand to provide all of their words. They simply had to play along with what was being said, which proved more difficult as the sketch went along and the lines got more and more ridiculous.
Fallon is always pretty good for cracking up anyway, but we can't blame him for losing it as many times as his "voice" was having him reach into his pocket to get a gift for Diaz. Each time, though, the object in his pocket was determined to not be a roll of dimes, a AAA battery or a Tootsie Roll.
See, it was time to get those pesky stitches out from when he slashed his wrist open mocking Anthony Wiener's press conference. Who needs doctors when you have celebrities? And Diaz was pretty excited about the task as well.
"My mouth is salivating," she told Stewart. "I'm frothing at the mouth, I'm so excited."
The procedure wound up taking up her entire segment, but she did manage to squeeze a few words in about her new film, 'Bad Teacher.' And now she's ready for the sequel, 'Bad Doctor.'
According to Diaz, it was a playful moment when Rodriguez reached for one of the last pieces of popcorn in the bucket, and she denied him. Then, she told him, "You know what, I love you too much. I'm gonna give it to you. You deserve it."
"She's always taking, taking," said Diaz. "So I decided that I was gonna, in every scene, be eating something or drinking something or chewing on something. So I, the whole film, all I did was ... and all the worst foods like corn dogs and fried chicken. It was really just an excuse to eat all of that bad food."
The prop guys had a spit bucket ready for her, but she declined and just ate the food. They christened her "The Intestinator" for her iron constitution.
'Access' correspondent Shaun Robinson asked them about what she described as a "dry humping" scene. Diaz and Timberlake were both quick to correct her, framing the scene as a "safe sex PSA."
Said Diaz: "There's nobody better to do that with than somebody who you love and trust," said Diaz, "who you know where you stand. There is no other possibility than the possibility that is standing right in front of you."
Timberlake and 'Teacher' co-star Jason Segel came up with a few other ways to describe the scene. "We prefer 'jean jamming,'" said Timberlake. Segel offered the phrase, "If she's just in knee-highs, keep on your Levis." Indeed, it may be something for the kids to keep in mind.
"I'm gonna get rid of the other questions," Jimmy Kimmel said. "Let's just focus on that."
Diaz did seem to know what she was talking about as she applauded the hotel industry for their discretion when it comes to watching pornography while traveling. "I love that they always give you that little thing at the bottom: 'Your room will be charged the same as any other room. No titles will be used'."
Either that, or it was just a cute moment incidentally captured by the FOX camera crews. In a brief segment spotlighting some of the big names who graced football's biggest games, including John Madden and former President and First Lady Bush, the camera cut to the baseball star and his girlfriend ... just as she was cramming a handful of popcorn into his mouth.
"I'm sure Alex is thrilled we just put the camera on him at that moment," announcer Joe Buck said, "Being fed popcorn."
Before Cameron Diaz made her acting debut in 'The Mask,' she was a model. And before that, she was just a "homegirl" from "the LBC," as in bad-ass Long Beach, California.
She went to a huge high school ("like 3500 kids") but remembers a particular student stood out: Snoop Dogg. "He was a year older than me," she said on 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 12AM ET on TBS). "He was very tall and skinny, wore lots of ponytails on his head. And I'm pretty sure I bought weed from him -- I had to have."
When he was working with Diaz on the set of the film 'Bad Teacher,' she had hooked him up with her chiropractor to help with a tweak in his neck. Stonestreet wanted to return the favor.
"I have the best waxer in Hollywood," he joked. "At the end of this interview, the three of us -- if you guys are down -- we're all gonna go have a threesome waxing session."
But while Cruise may be able to claim victory in the UK, it was Diaz who claims the record of head-touching on Jimmy Kimmel's show. She absolutely smoked Kimmel's record, and stands at three heads over Tom Cruise -- man, that sounded like a short joke, but it's not ... Honestly!
The competition has the celebrities running around on the street outside Kimmel's studio touching people on the head. "This is much more impressive than [Top Gear]," Kimmel said.
Stars don't go to 'Top Gear' to plug their latest movie or second series that's barely hanging by a thread. They are there to compete. They are there to crush their fellow celebrities in a high-fueled, high-octane competition of mortal combat. They are there to dominate one another in a purely non-sexual way (for once).
Things can, however, get a little heated on the track and we're not just talking about the weather. More than a few "Stars in a Reasonably Priced Car" have almost rolled the car while doing their power lap. But Tom Cruise wins the award for the scariest moment on "Top Gear" since the boys dared to test the razor thin sense of humor of the residents of Bagdad, Ala.
Tom appeared on the show and talked about his children. Oprah asked him what his "dream" for his family was. Tom said this: "That they find out what gives them pleasure in their work, so that it's not work." He also wished happiness upon his family members, saying that he has been fortunate in his own life to get to do something that he loves.
"I wish that for them -- the happiness," Tom said of his family. All in all, it was a pleasantly normal appearance for him on the show.
