Cedric the Entertainer made some news on his appearance on 'The Wendy Williams Show,' (weekdays, syndicated on Fox). The actor and comedian revealed he's been getting recruited by 'Dancing With the Stars,' and also talked about a 'Hot in Cleveland' spin-off that's in production focusing on his raunchy, former R&B-singing minister character.

On the 'Dancing' front, Cedric confirmed that they'd been recruiting him and showed off a few moves, but didn't seem inclined to join the show unless they "let you do your thing." Regardless, the audience appreciated his moves.

Cedric the Entertainer, 'Hot in Cleveland'With Elka and Fred engaged on 'Hot in Cleveland' (Wed., 10PM ET on TV Land), they sought the services of a minister, and found Cedric the Entertainer. Meanwhile, the girls got Elka so worried about her wedding that she turned into the episode's title, a 'Bridezelka.'

She even sent Joy in her place to meet with the minister. After he complimented her hair, she immediately shouted, "I want to have sex with you!"

It was the name of a song he'd recorded before he received the calling into the ministry. This set up the first of two recreations of the song in this episode.

Two Contestants Walk Away With $80,000 on 'It's Worth What?' Premiere (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 20th 2011 1:06AM
Cedric the Entertainer, 'It's Worth What?'While it wasn't a million-dollar pay day, two women walked away with a pretty cool cash settlement in the inaugural installment of 'It's Worth What?' (Tue., 8PM ET on NBC). When their earnings reached $80,000, Melissa and Annabel struggled to feel a strong urge to keep playing.

Even host Cedric the Entertainer's reminder that they could double that to $160,000 wasn't really swaying them. After all, if they were wrong on their next guess, their earnings would drop back to $10,000.

The format of the show has contestants trying to determine the values of various collectible and antique items. They have to then be able to compare two items and figure out which one is worth more money.

Cedric the Entertainer Previews New 'It's Worth What?' Game Show on 'The Talk' (VIDEO)

Cedric the Entertainer previews 'It's Worth What?' on 'The Talk'Anyone wondering what Cedric the Entertainer's new game show 'It's Worth What?' will actually look like got a preview Tuesday on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). Cedric gave the ladies a preview, challenging them to guess the prices of several items that could either be junk or expensive antiques.

Cedric had with him two items -- a black velvet and white taffeta gown once worn by Princess Diana for a charity event in 1985, and an acoustic guitar signed by Elvis Presley. The hosts were charged with figuring out which item was worth more. Leah Remini was the tie-breaker, and went with the guitar.

The signed guitar was worth $30,000, a lot of money to be sure. But the dress was worth twice as much. Sharon Osbourne, who had voted for the dress, was not happy. Hopefully the contestants on Tuesday's 'Worth What?' premiere will be less contentious.

Cedric the Entertainer Tells Kimmel About Singing with Prince (VIDEO)

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jun 17th 2011 8:45AM
Cedric the EntertainerCedric the Entertainer stopped by 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (Weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC) and reminisced about the time he performed on-stage with Prince.

He told Jimmy Kimmel how he'd previously been over to Prince's house for one of the diminutive rocker's "crazy parties in the midle of the night," and even described the house for us: "It's a 'Prince' house. ... It's got all kinds of sparkles and glitter and stuff ... there's fireworks going off inside ... "

Later on, Cedric was in the crowd at a Prince gig when the singer called him up on-stage to sing along with 'Raspberry Beret.' Performing live shouldn't hold any terrors for such a seasoned veteran of the stand-up circuit, but there was a snag. Cedric didn't know any of the words.

Thankfully, he managed to keep it together and bluffed his way through the verse by humming and mumbling in the right key. Then, at the crucial point he belted out the chorus: 'Raspberry Beret!'

ABC Picks Up Comedies From Carlos Mencia, Cedric the Entertainer

by Michael D. Ayers, posted Jan 6th 2010 11:30AM
It's a well tested theory: comedians tend to do well with sitcoms. At least that's what ABC is hoping, as the Hollywood Reporter confirms that Carlos Mencia and Cedric the Entertainer have struck pilot deals with the network.

Both will be multi-camera comedies, with Mencia's a family comedy that poaches from his own life and stand-up work, set within a multicultural, immigrant-based family. Veteran writers Mitchel Katlin and Nat Bernstein, who collaborated on 'Ally McBeal' and 'Doogie Howser, M.D.,' are signed on as writers for Mencia's show.

Mencia's last big project was heading up the Comedy Central sketch show, 'Mind of Mencia,' which lasted for three seasons.

On the Scene at 'Gordon Ramsay Cookalong Live'

by Allyssa Lee, posted Dec 16th 2009 9:13AM
It was a kindler, gentler Gordon Ramsay on display in this Los Angeles-based kitchen set. The famously hard-nosed, expletive-spewing foodsmith donned a casual plaid button-down shirt and jeans and didn't utter a single bad word during Fox's 'Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live,' in which the chef showed the nation how to cook a three course meal all in the span of one hour. (In fact, the star of 'Hell's Kitchen' cheekily reminded those of us in the studio audience to mind our language.) There were no dishes cracked, no spit showers to "piss off, and no berating. The only thing that was remotely threatening about the program was the fiery flambé -- well, that, and the chef's tendency to lean uncomfortably close to his female guests.
