5 Questions With: Helio Castroneves
by Kim Potts, posted May 28th 2009 4:30PM
It's been a rough year for Indy 500 racing champ and season 5 'Dancing With the Stars' winner Helio Castroneves. An ongoing tax evasion battle with the IRS could've sent the Brazilian race car driver to jail -- and ended his driving career. But just weeks before the May 24 Indy 500 race in which he nabbed his third victory, a jury acquitted Castroneves of most of the charges (the final charge was dismissed just two days before the race), clearing the way for him to enjoy his third win (making him the first foreign-born three-time Indy 500 champ) and his multimillion dollar paycheck.
Castroneves took a break from his Indy celebrations to talk to AOL TV about his big wins (on the race track and the 'DWtS' stage), shakin' his groove thang on ABC again, his plans for that Indy 500 check -- no worries, IRS.
5 Questions With: Henry Cavill
by Katy Kroll, posted Apr 3rd 2009 6:00AM
"This season ... I'm going to put on 50 pounds and grow a full beard."British actor Henry Cavill got his big Hollywood break in an unlikely place: Ireland. That's where the Showtime series 'The Tudors' is filmed, in which he plays King Henry VIII's close friend and confidante Charles Brandon. As the king tears through wives, mistresses and men who cross him, Charles is one of the few constants in his life.
As 'The Tudors' heads into its third season (premiering April 5), AOL TV chatted with Cavill about life in the king's court, co-star Jonathan Rhys Meyers' recent stint in rehab ... and why there's no "bromance" brewing for Henry VIII. -- By Katy Kroll
5 Questions With: Jesse McCartney
by Katy Kroll, posted Mar 27th 2009 6:00AM
"It definitely was a new experience for me, getting used to the Greek life and ... being in a fraternity."Jesse McCartney's been around longer than you probably think. He got his start in 2001 with the boy band Dream Street, then landed a role in the short-lived (but well-loved) teen drama 'Summerland.' In 2004, he found multi-platinum success with his debut solo album, 'Beautiful Soul.'
Last year, the 21-year-old McCartney unveiled a more mature look and sound with his third album, 'Departure,' which spawned the hit single 'Leavin'.' Since then, he's been linked to a bevy of high-profile starlets, like Aubrey O'Day and Danielle Panabaker, and was on the short list for the leading role in M. Night Shyamalan's live-action adaptation of 'The Last Airbender.' Next, he'll guest-star on the third season of the ABC Family series 'Greek,' premiering March 30.
The singer-slash-actor took time out of his busy schedule to talk to AOL TV about all things 'Greek,' what he's given up to keep his music career on track and setting the record straight (sort of) about those Hayden Panettiere rumors. -- By Katy Kroll
5 Questions With: Sherri Shepherd
by AOL TV Staff, posted Dec 10th 2008 5:00PM
"The great thing about doing what I do is that you have to have a tough skin and laugh things off."
Co-hosting 'The View' does more for Sherri Shepherd than let her speak her mind and cozy up to Barbara Walters.
Last month, the self-proclaimed soap opera junkie got to head to Disney World in Orlando for ABC's 13th annual Super Soap Weekend, where the network's biggest soap stars mingled with fans. There, Shepherd had the dream job of interviewing daytime legends Susan Lucci ('All My Children') and Erika Slezak ('One Life to Live').
Shepherd, who voiced a mother lioness in the animated film 'Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa,' took a few minutes out of her hectic schedule to chat with AOL TV about 'The View,' Barack Obama and other "hot topics."
Ask Heroes stars Milo Ventimiglia and Masi Oka a question
by Patricia Chui, posted Oct 27th 2008 6:03PM
On Heroes, Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) and Hiro (Masi Oka) have been both allies and enemies as they fight to save the world ... even though sometimes, they have a hard enough time saving themselves. Or making intelligent decisions. BUT, that's a post for another day.For AOL TV's new video series Outside the Box, Milo and Masi will be interviewing each other on October 29 using fan questions. Got something you're dying to ask -- about future Peter, current Peter, time travel, the bromance that is Hiro and Ando, or anything other burning issues? (Heck, you can even ask about Gilmore Girls if you want to.)
Submit your own question in the comments section below, and Masi and Peter might use it on the air when we launch the interview on November 17. Be sure to include your first name and where you live.
CNN reschedules Larry King Week
by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 26th 2007 11:08AM
CNN's scheduled 50th Anniversary salute to Larry King was called off because of special coverage of the Virginia Tech shootings, but they've now set a new date and new guests for the celebration. It all starts this Monday.
- Monday, April 30: George Tenet
- Tuesday, May 1: Oprah Winfrey
- Wednesday, May 2: Katie Couric interviews King
- Thursday, May 3: 50 Years of Pop Culture, with Anderson Cooper and Ryan Seacrest
- Friday, May 4: An All-Star Salute, with Bill Maher, Bill Cosby, Alec Baldwin, Kathy Griffin, and many others.
Not sure why Tenent is part of the 50th Anniversary. Former President Bill Clinton was originally part of the event, but his appearance ran as scheduled a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if Baldwin will show up (unless it's taped).
