Rush Limbaugh and Fox News Feud Over Fox's Positive Reaction to Obama's Tucson Speech (VIDEO)

In a tone that fit the emotion and tragedy of the moment, most of the pundits on Fox News were extremely complimentary to President Obama's speech at the memorial service in Tucson on Wednesday night.

Conservative radio talker Rush Limbaugh took a harsher approach, accusing Fox News of "slobbering all over" Obama's speech. He added that the Fox News panel was only so laudatory because the speech was "all the things the educated ruling class wants their members to be and sound like."

Appearing on 'Special Report With Bret Baier' (weekdays, 6AM ET on Fox News), Fox News analyst Charles Krauthammer pushed back at Limbaugh's criticism.

"As one of the three slobberers here on the set, let me just say that I find it interesting that only the ruling class wants a president who is smart, articulate and oratorical in delivering a funeral oration," Krauthammer responded. "It's an odd and rather condescending view of what the rest of America is looking for in their president."

It was a particularly harsh exchange between two media operations whose tone has been very closely aligned over the past two years. Still, despite the feud, we doubt Limbaugh will be switching his news-watching allegiances to MSNBC anytime soon.

Charles Krauthammer: Sarah Palin's Lack of Policy Knowledge Equals Bad Poll Numbers (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Dec 15th 2010 8:59PM
On "The O'Reilly Factor" (weekdays, 8PM ET on Fox News), Bill O'Reilly and conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer discussed the result of a recent poll that showed Sarah Palin was 12 points behind Barack Obama in a hypothetical 2012 match up, whereas other potential GOP candidates -- such as Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee -- were much more competitive with the president.

O'Reilly wondered if this discrepancy had to do with the media's harsh treatment of Palin. Krauthammer said he believed that's a contributing factor, but added that some of Palin's relative unpopularity has to do with the her lack of knowledge about policy.

"I think in part it is is that she's not practiced in policy. The Katie Couric interview ... was not a gotcha interview. They were fairly simple questions that she had trouble answering," Krauthammer said, before adding that Palin has done little since to display that she has a handle on policy.

On the other hand, there isn't any politician in the land who has displayed more of a handle on Facebook and other social networking sites than Palin. If Palin challenges Obama for president of Farmville, we know who we are voting for.
