'SNL' Spoofs Rachel Maddow, Nancy Pelosi, John Boehner and Charlie Rangel (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Nov 22nd 2010 6:15PM
This week's 'Saturday Night Live' (Saturday, 11:30 PM ET on NBC) cold-opened with a spoof of the 'Rachel Maddow Show,' in which Nancy Pelosi, played by Kristen Wiig, John Boehner, played by Bill Hader, and Charlie Rangel, played by Kenan Thompson, were guests. It wasn't one of SNL stronger political skits, as most of the humor veered toward the cheap and obvious:
"Hello, young man," was how Rangel greeted Maddow. "Orange you glad I didn't mention the color of your face?" Maddow asked Boehner.
Al Sharpton Says Charlie Rangel is Being Crucified, Predicts Resurrection (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Aug 13th 2010 4:30PM
On 'Morning Joe' (weekdays, 6 AM ET on MSNBC) Joe Scarborough gave Al Sharpton the opportunity to back away from his charge that the media has "started and executed the political crucifixion" of Charlie Rangel, an accusation Sharpton made Wednesday night at the embattled congressman's 80th birthday party. While making sure to clarify that he only meant a political crucifixion (and not the kind with Romans and nails), Sharpton stuck with his original statement. He also predicted that Rangel, his long-time friend, would be "resurrected" by the voters in his Harlem district.
Sharpton does happen to be a reverend, so we'll just have to take his word on all this crucifixion/resurrection business.
