Mario Batali May Know More About 'Suburgatory' Than Cheryl Hines (VIDEO)
by Alex Moaba, posted Dec 7th 2011 7:10PM
Mario Batali may be a 'Suburgatory' super-fan. With star Cheryl Hines a guest on 'The Chew' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) the celebrity chef gushed about how much he's enjoying the absurdist suburban comedy, and updated Hines on some tune-in info about her own show that even she wasn't aware of."It's always nice to see that the suburban world is a little artificial, as I might imagine," Batali observed, after Hines described the many fake aspects of her character Dallas. "I noticed that they added yet another opportunity to view it," he continued. "Last night at 9:30 they started the series again from the pilot, so on Tuesday nights at 9:30 you can view it and Wednesday nights at 8:30 for the original, right?"
Cheryl Hines Used to Get Stabbed Multiple Times Daily For Her Job (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 19th 2011 1:00AM
Cheryl Hines worked her way into the world of professional acting through many of the classic routes like being a waitress and bartender. But she revealed on 'The Rosie Show' (Weeknights, 7PM ET on OWN) that she had a rather different job as well, and one that did require a bit of acting.By unique, though, we apparently mean her and four other women who looked remarkably like her ... and Janet Leigh, apparently. The women were part of a daily recreation of the classic 'Psycho' shower scene.
Cheryl Hines Reveals the Inspiration for Her 'Suburgatory' Character (VIDEO)
by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 10th 2011 6:45PM
Cheryl Hines plays an over-the-top, crazy-eyed, 'Stepford Wives'-style supermom on the new absurdist suburban comedy 'Suburgatory.' She told the ladies of 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) that she drew some inspiration for the character from her mother."I took a page from my mom," Hines said, pointing to her in the studio audience. "My mom always says you need a little glitz and glamor, and if you got it, flaunt it."
Cheryl Hines and Chelsea Handler Talk 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Porn (VIDEO)

If you're Cheryl Hines and someone sends you pornography based on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm,' you're going to have to check it out. On 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!), she admitted that she did take a peek at it.If for nothing else, you'd want to know what the guy picked to play a porn version of Larry David looks like. She agreed that it was a very weird thing to see.
"It makes sense with my character," she said of her own porn counterpart with a coy smile.
City Dad Meets Suburban Mom, Thinks Her Too Trusting on 'Suburgatory' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 29th 2011 12:45AM
'Suburgatory' (Wed., 8:30PM ET on ABC) follows the perhaps rash decision of single father to move his daughter from the bright lights of Manhattan to the suburbs. But this surreal little community is more like a cross between 'The Stepford Wives' and 'Edward Scissorhands' than any real suburban neighborhood.Teenager daughter Tessa is understandably freaked out and uncomfortable in her new environment, but it's nice to see that the writers haven't forgotten that her father George would be just as out of place. We loved both of them freaking out over how quiet it is at night.
Cheryl Hines, Carrie Fisher Join Debra Messing in ABC's 'Wright vs. Wrong'
by Allyssa Lee, posted Mar 24th 2010 4:45PM
ABC has nabbed two more funny ladies for its political comedy 'Wright vs. Wrong.' According to the Hollywood Reporter, 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' star Cheryl Hines and Carrie Fisher have signed on for the network's pilot. As previously reported, the single-camera comedy stars Debra Messing ('Will & Grace,' 'The Starter Wife') as Evelyn Wright, a strong-minded conservative political figure whose on-air confidence and ambition contrasts with her off-air insecurities and shortcomings. Hines will go toe-to-toe with Messing as Evelyn's liberal rival and sworn enemy, while Fisher will play as Evelyn's no-nonsense manager.
TV Moment of 2009: 'Seinfeld' Reunion on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'
by Meg Prossnitz, posted Dec 27th 2009 9:00AM
It wouldn't be a new season of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' without Larry David doing something with a self-serving purpose. After running into Cheryl and discovering that she liked things better when Larry had a job, Larry becomes enthusiastic about a 'Seinfeld' reunion, though he has a hard time convincing Jerry of his change of heart.
When the reunion gets picked up, Larry comes up with another one of his wacky schemes -- this time, to cast Cheryl as Amanda, George Costanza's ex-wife. This weaves in the running gag that barely any of that cast, especially Jason, realize: that George is based on Larry. Luckily for Larry, the scheme doesn't blow up in his face like it usually does.
'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Finale Attracts 1.3 Million Viewers
by Michael D. Ayers, posted Nov 25th 2009 10:45AM
Good news for 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' fans: Sunday night's episode was the show's most-watched finale in five seasons, Variety is reporting. The show drew 1.3 million viewers over one hour, and climbed to 2 million total once the repeat showing was factored into the equation. For the entire season, the show has averaged around 5 million viewers per episode, when combining real-time viewers, DVR and on-demand data. In other words: some pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good numbers.
New cast members, same old Reno 911! - VIDEO
by Nick Zaino, posted Mar 30th 2009 7:02PM
One of my favorite things that Reno 911! does is to weave in guest stars with little or no fanfare, and to just let them mix it up with the cast. I smile every time I see Patton Oswalt as a role-playing geek running, in full chainmail, from Dangle & Co. Or Paul Rudd as a Lamaze coach. Or Cheryl Hines as trailer trash (there has been a lot of trailer trash). It's never a big deal, it's never announced to promote the show. It's just people who are good at what they do goofing off and having a lot of fun, which is what the rest of the cast is doing anyway.
Looks like the new season, which premieres Wednesday at 10:30PM, will continue that tradition. Here's a bit with Jonah Hill, uncensored.
Megan Mullally: The TV Squad Interview
by Joel Keller, posted Mar 25th 2009 11:03AM
There aren't many actresses out there that you could affectionately call a "broad," but Megan Mullally's one of them. Ever since she came on the scene a decade ago as the caustic and spoiled Karen Walker on Will & Grace, Mullally has shown that she can be bawdy with the best of them. Now, after a foray into the talk show world and a turn as a disabled and ugly -- but desirable -- chief of medicine on Rob Corddry's web series Children's Hospital, Mullally is back on series TV, on ABC's new comedy In The Motherhood (premiering Thursday at 8 PM ET), which was based on a web series that took episode ideas from submissions by real moms. In the series, Mullally plays Rosemary, a "bad ass," as Mullally calls her, who has raised the perfect son even though she's an imperfect mom.
In this quickie interview, Mullally talks about the new show, about a rumor that she was in a catfight with her co-star Cheryl Hines, about how Rosemary and Karen could be the new Odd Couple, and running her Kerry Weaver-esque Children's Hospital character past Laura Innes.
Ask 'In the Motherhood' Stars a Question
by Patricia Chui, posted Jan 14th 2009 3:57PM
Submit a question for Megan Mullally, Cheryl Hines or Horatio Sanz. What do Megan Mullally, Cheryl Hines and Horatio Sanz have in common?
For one thing, they're all terrific comic actors who've come to fame as supporting players on hit TV shows -- Mullally on 'Will & Grace,' Hines on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' and Sanz on 'Saturday Night Live.'
AND, they're all moving on up in the world, as the stars of the upcoming ABC show 'In the Motherhood.' One of them is Rosemary, a single, free-spirited mom with a teenage son; one of them is Jane, a newly divorced mother of a pre-teen girl and an eight-month-old baby; and one of them is Jane's male nanny (or "manny," shall we say).
Which one's which? Here's a hint: Horatio Sanz doesn't play either of the single moms. And fine, here are the rest of your hints: Mullally plays Rosemary, and Hines plays Jane.
The show, while fictional, has the unusual premise of featuring real-life storylines submitted to the 'In the Motherhood' official site. And in that spirit, we're also soliciting your questions for our 'In the Motherhood' Outside the Box interview, in which Mullally, Hines and Sanz will be asking each other whatever your heart desires -- be it about motherhood, comedy, their careers, or some combination of all three.
