TV Land Picks Up 'Retired at 35'
by Sharon Knolle, posted Apr 19th 2010 11:45AM
Catch that new show on TV Land? No, this isn't a trick question: According to Variety, the purveyor of classic TV has ordered nine episodes of the original scripted series 'Retired at 35,' set to launch during the first quarter of 2011. The episodes will reportedly air during the network's "TV Land Prime" time slot.
George Segal ('Just Shoot Me') stars in the comedy series, about a party-loving retiree whose 35-year-old son David (Johnathan McClain) decides to quit the rat race and move into his Florida retirement home with him. Casey Wilson ('Saturday Night Live'), Jessica Walter ('Arrested Development') and Tony winner Christine Ebersole co-star as Segal's character's daughter, ex-wife and potential love interest, respectively.
TV Land taps television's vintage hottie vault for new sitcom
by Danny Gallagher, posted Jan 12th 2010 3:30PM

TV Land has officially jumped into the cable sitcom party, even if they showed up just as the hangovers are starting to set in. And for their first venture, they have enlisted the help of some of television's tastiest babes.
Valerie Bertinelli (One Day at a Time), Jane Leeves (Frasier), Wendy Malick (Just Shoot Me) and Betty White (The Golden Girls) have been brought on board to star in Hot for Cleveland, the second sitcom project approved by the cable network. That's right, Betty White is a TV hottie. I will fight ANYONE who makes fun of me for it.
The other show commissioned by TV Land is Retired at 35, and has lined up actor George Segal, Christine Ebersole and SNL alum Casey Wilson, her first role since she was abruptly pumped from the sketch show. Given TV Land's horrible choices in making their own reality shows, do these even have a chance of being a hit?
A Brady and a Broadway blonde check in to Samantha Who?
by Allison Waldman, posted Dec 5th 2008 5:08PM
Guest stars can be good and guest stars can be not-so-good, but this one sounds like a winner to me. EW's Michael Ausiello has an exclusive report that Florence Henderson will be on Samantha Who? And if you think Christina Applegate kind of looks like she could be related to Florence, you're not alone. The Brady Bunch veteran has been cast as Samantha Newly's grandmother, Jean Smart's mama. And if that's not blonde goodness and potential hilarity for you, TVGuide.com has another exclusive; Christine Ebersole will play Sammy's aunt. In the very same storyline!
