'Grey's Anatomy' - 'Valentine's Day Massacre' Recap
by Michael Pascua, posted Feb 12th 2010 2:42AM

(S06E14) It's Valentine's Day on 'Grey's Anatomy' and to celebrate, we have a restaurant roof collapse. The show claims to have the biggest surgery ever, which turns out to be an arm reattachment, with the arm temporarily being attached to a leg. While it's interesting and I'm sure a rare surgery, it still doesn't compare to separating conjoined twins or being impaled to a car in my book.
While everyone struggles with the multiple surgeries, miraculously, both Arizona and Callie have time to dilly-dally. Arizona tries her hand in playing Cupid on Valentine's, pairing up Bailey with Dr. Warren. Callie gets to check up on Sloan with her free time. What happened to the Callie who used to snap arms back into place?
Review: Grey's Anatomy - Holidaze

(S06E10) In the last episode of 2009, Grey's Anatomy combines Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years all in one eventful episode. I'm still not in the holiday mood, but the show got me there, except for the fact that they played Christmas music on New Years. Christmas music should stay between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
What happened to Alex in this episode? This would probably be the hardest time for a husband who doesn't have his wife for their first Christmas together. Wasn't he invited to Christmas Dinner? At least Meredith could have mentioned that he was stuck at work?
Review: Grey's Anatomy - Invest in Love

(S06E08) This episode of Grey's Anatomy shows that Grey's can be strong without having a Grey sister (or Izzie) involved. All the other characters are strong on their own, and it's nice seeing Arizona evolve as a character. Sadly, these episodes will come to an end next week.
I still laugh that pagers are still the standard for communicating with doctors outside of work. It's interesting to see the doctors dreading the fact that they didn't get enough sleep.
Who thinks of throwing a surprise birthday party anymore? I guess I'd rather take the $25 million donation to the hospital.
Grey's Anatomy: Tainted Obligation
by Michael Pascua, posted Oct 8th 2009 11:52PM

(S06E04) I love how Grey's Anatomy can bounce between serious and hysterical moments. Old people wanting penile implants, bears attacking a groggy Alex, and a witty jab at CSI in the first ten minutes of the show counterbalanced with Mercy West drama, Christina being ignored, and Lexie's father arriving at the hospital hacking blood.
One interesting point that clears up one question is how much the residents make. According to Izzie, she and Alex barely make $30K a year. I'm not sure if that's combined or individual, but it makes me solidify why a) Lexie lives with Mark and b) Christina and Callie are still roommates.
Would you watch Lexie Grey's Anatomy?

Season six of Grey's Anatomy is going to be odd. Getting past the fact that T.R. Knight isn't coming back, Ellen Pompeo is pregnant. Shonda Rhimes has mentioned that Meredith will not get pregnant to coincide with Ellen so we'll either get How I Met Your Mother-esque bump hiding, or Meredith will disappear for a while. The only Grey left is Lexie Grey, Meredith's half-sister. Although her relationship with Mark is interesting to watch, could she carry the show's title albeit temporarily?
Grey's gossip: Will Mer and Der have a baby?
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Apr 21st 2009 10:02AM
Is it just me or there seems to be a baby boom in Hollywood this TV season? This is probably the 73rd post we've written here at TV Squad this year about a TV actress being pregnant, wondering how it will affect the show she stars in.When the two lead actresses of How I Met Your Mother announced they were pregnant, the writers decided not to write the pregnancies in and go for the "hiding the belly under big clothes or things" option instead. They even shot the season finale months before they would have usually done so they could have the two actresses in reasonable shape.
People announced that Grey's Anatomy lead actress Ellen Pompeo is pregnant with her first child, while reminding us that Chyler Leigh, who plays Pompeo's half-sister, is due in May. We know that Shonda Rhimes decided not to have Lexie be pregnant but what about Meredith?
Warning! The rest of this post contains spoilers about upcoming episodes.
Grey's Anatomy: Freedom (season finale)

"The pager is sacred. Sacred sparkle." -- IzzieA sparkly pager, some quick-drying cement, and a field of candles all play into tonight's 2-hour episode -- the Season Four finale of Grey's Anatomy. Has it really been only four seasons? Because it seems like so much more.
Anyway, tonight we learn a little more about some of the interns' history. For one thing, via a therapy session (and why can't I have Amy Madigan as my therapist?), we learn that young Meredith saw her mom slit her wrists, then had to wait for her to pass out before calling 911.
Meredith says her mom wanted to die, but by the end of the episode, she figures out that she really didn't want to die. Being a brilliant surgeon, her mom would have known the faster road to death entailed slitting her carotid artery.
New regulars for Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Jul 11th 2007 3:42PM
Even though focus groups reportedly did not like her Grey's Anatomy character much (mostly because she got in the way of Meredith and Derek?), TV Guide's Michael Ausiello reports that Chyler Leigh was promoted to series regular. This news comes less than a week after we've told you that the series was considering having her stay longer than the planned 13 episodes. As for the Grey's spinoff Private Practice, KaDee Strickland has been cast as Oceanside Wellness Center's administrator. This is a series regular position. No more information has been given about the character. You may remember Strickland from FOX's fast-canceled The Wedding Bells or from movies such as Fever Pitch, The Grudge and The Stepford Wives.
Chyler Leigh may become a regular on Grey's Anatomy

What would you say if Meredith's half-sister and new Seatlle Grace intern were to become a regular character on Grey's Anatomy? That is what TV Guide's Michael Ausiello is reporting in his latest "Ask Ausiello" feature.Chyler Leigh, who plays Meredith's half-sister Lexie Grey, was first introduced at the very end of last season. Many fans already don't like her character much as she is already getting in the way of the Meredith and Derek relationship.
Leigh's original contract stipulated that she would appear in 13 episodes. But it seems that as writers and the show's creator, Shonda Rhimes, are mapping the upcoming season, they are thinking to have her stick around as a permanent fixture.
