Was It Legal for Anita Hill to Call the Cops After Ginny Thomas Left Her a Voicemail? Fox News Debates (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Oct 20th 2010 5:07PM
Anita Hill is back in the news, 19 years after her allegations that now-Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas had sexually harassed her scandalized the nation during Thoma's Supreme Court confirmation hearings.Apparently, Thomas' wife Ginny recently left a message on Hill's answering machine, asking Hill if she would apologize for what she had put her husband through all those years ago. Hill responded by reporting the call to the police.
On the Kelly's Court segment of 'America Live' (weekdays, 1PM ET on Fox News) Megyn Kelly wondered if Hill had engaged in "criminal abuse of emergency services" by alerting the authorities to what she described as a polite and non-threatening call.
"It might not be threatening, per se, but it sure is bizarre," argued attorney Jonna Spilbor, who believes Hill is within her rights. "This dog has been asleep for 20 years. Why all the sudden would she pick up the phone? It's not so much what she said, but when she said it."
Lawyer Mercedes Colwin disagreed: "The is abuse of process," she declared.
Hopefully, if this debate continues, we will eventually hear from Long Dong Silver, the notorious porn star who played a starring role in Thomas' 1991 confirmation hearings.
Judge Alex loses in court

By a vote of 8-1, the highest court in the land has ruled against Alex Ferrer, Judge Alex. Now, we're not talking the Emmy judges, ruling against the TV show. This is the real legal business, not the Let's Make A Deal-justice of the sort Judge Alex is all about. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled against him. Ferrer, star of the syndicated court show Judge Alex, a former police officer and Florida judge, had brought a case before the high court involving a dispute over commissions he supposedly owed to a former associate, Arnold Preston. "Is That Really Necessary?": John McCain wants to have a Christian president. We'll make it happen, McCain, we'll make it happen. FOR YOU. "Here Comes the Grudge": On the first day of the Supreme Court's return, Clarence Thomas' book was released, chock full of revealing information on how much Thomas really hates everyone and thinks that John Roberts dresses too provocatively. I think Daily Show only brought this up because they wanted an excuse to crack all the "Coke and pubic hair" jokes that they've had stored up since the last time they've had the opportunity to make fun of Thomas. Senior Legal Analyst Jason Jones stopped by to say some things. I honestly lost all memory of everything else he covered when he said "furry pop-top". Eww.
