Advanced 'Community' Studies: Recommend Your Favorite Episodes of the NBC Comedy
by Maureen Ryan, posted Oct 18th 2011 11:45AM
A week or two ago, I answered your question in an "Ask Mo" column, an occasional feature around here. But I'd like to reverse that formula and ask you a question, if I may be so bold.Last week, I watched 'Community' for the first time in a long time. And even though I was only partly caught up on the show's mythology -- I'd stopped checking in on the show about midway through season 2, but I'd read various stories about it since then -- I greatly enjoyed 'Remedial Chaos Theory.'
But my schedule in this timeline and every other one won't allow me to go back and watch all the episodes that I haven't already seen. So, dear readers, can you recommend a couple of your all-time favorite 'Community' outings?
Troy's Absence Leads to Chaos in Alternate Timelines on 'Community' (VIDEO)

'Community' (Thu., 8PM ET on NBC) is at its best when it steps beyond reality and into the surreal. Some of its most classic episodes have been completely unbelievable, but the strength of the characters sell it.This week, with the roll of a die, the cast explored seven alternate realities. In each timeline, a different one of them went downstairs to get the pizza. Which means we got to see the group dynamics between the characters in whole new ways, simply by removing one from the equation.
Annie Throws a World Class Temper Tantrum on 'Community' (VIDEO)

Annie found an arch-nemesis, and apparently an Asian doppelganger of herself, on 'Community' (Thu., 8PM ET on NBC). Annie 2 started showing her up in class, and then stole her idea to start a Model United Nations. To solve the dilemma, after Annie declared she was going to start her own Model UN, there was a UN faceoff to see which group could achieve world peace first. Yes, it is as ridiculous as it sounds, but no one have predicted Annie's reaction when things started going wrong.
'Community' Season 3 Promo: Dance Number Promises Less Weirdness, More John Goodman Goodness (VIDEO)
by Alex Moaba, posted Sep 1st 2011 11:30AM
A few days ago, we got a brief, glorious glimpse of what's in store for Season 3 of 'Community.' We met John Goodman's new character, Vice Dean Laybourne, the intimidating yet silly head of Greendale's school of air-conditioning repair, for the first time. Now, just as the awesomeness of that casting choice was beginning to sink in, NBC has released a longer 'Community' promo that features the rest of the gang performing a song and dance number promising to "have more fun and be less weird than the first two years combined" and more Goodman goodness, this time in the form of a fake laugh-off with Dean Pelton.
Check out the new promo after the jump, and don't forget to tune into 'Community' when it premieres Thurs., Sept. 22, at 8PM ET on NBC.
