USA getting involved in Covert Affairs with Piper Perabo
by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 31st 2009 2:00PM
Piper Perabo's most recognizable roles have been in the Cheaper by the Dozen films, as well as a turn in Coyote Ugly. And yet, hers is one of those names unique enough to remember. Someone at USA recalled Perabo well enough to cast her in Covert Affairs, a pilot about a young CIA trainee abruptly called up as a field operative. While she thinks it's because she's so awesome and all, it turns out that it has more to do with some secret in her past.In other words, she may be woefully unprepared for the cases she finds herself involved in. At least she'll have Christopher Gorham (Harper's Island) on hand to help her navigate, though I wouldn't trust him. Plus, he's blind which limits his abilities in the field.
For those of you tracking which of the Harper's Island alumni would be the first to land regular work elsewhere, it looks like it was the most unstable of the bunch. I guess that means Gorham won't be available for that Weekend at Bernie's style reunion special.
So You Think You Can Dance: Atlanta Auditions
by Brett Love, posted Jun 1st 2007 5:15AM
(S03E03) With one last stop in Atlanta, the audition tour for season three comes to an end. I think that's a good thing. The audition episodes aren't terrible or anything, but the sooner the show can get down to the serious competition, the better. That is where So You Think You Can Dance really shines. Nigel and Mary were once again joined by Shane Sparks to take a look at what the South had to offer. All things considered, Dixie did pretty well for itself. There were a lot of good dancers, and a few not so good, but it all made for an entertaining night. The one thing that I thought stood out as being odd was the lack of contestants being put straight through to Vegas. It's probably more a quirk of how they decided to edit this episode than anything else. But it did seem like there were a lot more contestants that got the immediate yes in the other cities.
CMT readying Ultimate Coyote 2
by Brett Love, posted Dec 7th 2006 4:02PM
CMT (Country Music Television) is gearing up for a second season of The Ultimate Coyote Ugly Search. Auditions are currently underway to find the next group of potential coyotes. They've already stopped in Nashville and Memphis, but if you are a female bartender between the ages of 18 and 30-something, you still have a few chances. Upcoming auditions include Charlotte, N.C. (Dec. 9), New York City (Dec. 11) and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. (Dec. 14). The show will air in the spring of 2007.For those unfamiliar with the show, the girls are put through the paces by Coyote Ugly founder Liliana "Lil" Lovell and her team. They have to sing and dance on the bar, work the crowd with the microphone, and most importantly, they have to tend bar. Being a cute girl certainly doesn't hurt, but Lil has no patience for girls that can't count money or mix drinks. The winner gets $25,000 and a job at the bar, along with a lot of exposure. Last season's winner, Kassie Miller (pictured), is currently working on an album, and was in Steve Holy's video for "I've Got A Brand New Girlfriend." Find out more about the show at the official CMT site, and hear some of Kassie's songs on myspace.
