by Catherine Lawson, posted Jul 29th 2011 7:30AM
Craig KilbornAs it gears up for its fifth and final season, spy caper 'Chuck' keeps adding to its impressive guest star roster.

Hot on the heels of signing 'Star Wars' legend Luke Skywalker Mark Hamill to appear as a baddie, it's been announced that Craig Kilborn will also be guest-starring as a villain.

According to TVLine, Kilborn will be feeling the force alongside Hamill in the Season 5 premiere.

He'll play Roger Bale, a charming yet conniving investor who's stolen money from some of the world's most dangerous people. Oh, and it turns out that Roger's rather dangerous himself.

Keith Olbermann and Dan Patrick Cast the ESPN Movie (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 29th 2011 2:57AM
Dan Patrick, 'Countdown with Keith Olbermann''Live from New York: An Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live' was an oral history of the late night staple, and turned out to be very compelling reading.

More surprising was that James Miller and Tom Shales' follow-up book about ESPN was just as riveting, and even led to a movie deal. So Keith Olbermann and Dan Patrick decided to cast it on 'Countdown' (Weeknights, 8PM ET on Current TV).

'Those Guys Have All the Fun: Inside the World of ESPN' went just as deep into the inner workings of the little cable network that could, and because it's players aren't big celebrities, it makes sense that this one was optioned for film over 'Live from New York.'

Stana Katic Shows Off Creepy, Murder-Themed Gifts From Fans (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Aug 4th 2010 9:35PM
Stana Katic Shows Off Creepy, Murder-Themed Gifts From FansStana Katic -- star of 'Castle' -- is an actress and an all-around good-looking lady. So it makes sense that she would receive odd gifts from semi-obsessive fans. On 'The Kilborn File' (weeknights, 7PM ET on Fox), Stana mentions the topic of the weird presents that she gets in the mail. And coincidentally (or not coincidentally at all, considering that this is a talk show), the actress brought along a couple of the strangest gifts she has gotten. Including a totally terrifying notepad.

One of the gifts that Katic got is a weird coffee mug that looks like a gun, sort of. A little odd, but Katic likes it and calls it "wicked." She also thinks the gun-motif is appropriate, since she appeared in a James Bond movie.

Another gift: a notepad featuring a bloody dead body with a pen "stabbed" through its heart. Yikes! A little more creepy. But to her credit, Stana also has nice things to say about the notepad, saying that she gets the reference -- because she plays a detective who investigates murders on 'Castle.'

Kilborn's 'Power Panel' Suggests Mel Gibson, Christopher Walken as New 'Idol' Judges (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Aug 3rd 2010 9:45PM
'American Idol' Replacements on 'The Kilborn File'As you may have heard, two 'American Idol' judges -- Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres -- are leaving the show after this season. And some of the other judges may be replaced as well. People! We're facing a desperate lack of 'Idol' judges! How can we solve this pressing problem?

Well, fortunately, on 'The Kilborn File' (weeknights, 7PM ET on Fox), host Craig Kilborn swooped in to save the day. During his 'Power Panel,' Craig had several guest comedians suggest possible new alternate judges. Among their suggestions? Mel Gibson and Christopher Walken. (Mel was mentioned because the show needs someone "foreign ... and mean.")

Cool! Mel and Walken! Sort of pretty terrifying. That sounds like the worst/best series ever, but we would definitely at least check it out. Also, during the suggestion phase of the show, comic Kevin Pollak did his Christopher Walken impersonation, which was pretty good. ... But for the record, we still think that this is the best Walken impersonation of all time. We're just saying.*

Bradley Whitford Shows Off His Porn Acting Skills -- and His Mustache (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 29th 2010 9:30PM
Bradley Whitford Shows Off His Porn Acting Skills -- and His MustacheYou might know actor Bradley Whitford from the sitcom 'The Good Guys.' Or perhaps you remember him from 'The West Wing.' But on 'The Kilborn File' (weeknights, 7PM ET on Fox), Bradley discusses the most important thing about himself -- the fact that he's from the great state of Wisconsin! (That's the Badger State, if you need a little help with that one.)

Host Craig Kilborn is a Midwestern boy himself -- he's from the great state of Minnesota. And while Bradley is on the show, the two of them discuss several important Midwestern issues, including how "horrible" Wisconsin accents are. Bradley points out that this is why there are no great female porn stars from Wisconsin -- because of the weirdness of the accent. Then, he does a impression of how a Wisconsin porn starlet might talk: "OHH GAWD YAH ... YAH, YOU'RE DOIN' GREAT DOWN THERE, Y'KNOW?" Good stuff.

Swimsuit Model Kelly Brook Discusses Getting Pulled Over by the Cops (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 28th 2010 11:00PM
Swimsuit Model Kelly Brook Discusses Getting Pulled Over by the CopsKelly Brook is famous in England, but most people have never heard of her here "across the pond" in America. She's been a model since age sixteen -- specializing in bathing suits and lingerie -- and has ranked as high as 5th on the 'FHM Magazine' list of sexiest women in the world. And here's a fairly racy photograph of her, in case you're interested.

Brook was in America to shoot her new film 'Piranha 3-D.' (Which sounds more like a bad movie that would be released in 1977, not 2010, but whatever.) On 'The Kilborn File' (weeknights, 7PM ET on Fox), Kelly discussed her attempts to drive away from the film shoot, in order to go party with her friends in Las Vegas.

While heading to Vegas, Kelly and her pals were stopped by the police. Now, in England, when you get pulled over, you get out of your car and walk over to the policemen. But this is not what you do in America. Still, it's what Kelly did. And after making that mistake, she was instantly surrounded by screaming cops, who pointed guns at her and yelled, "GET DOWN, GET DOWN!"

Jane Leeves Gets a Little Catty About Catherine Zeta-Jones (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 22nd 2010 8:40PM
Jane Leeves Gets a Little Catty About Catherine Zeta-Jones'Hot in Cleveland' star Jane Leeves was the guest on 'The Kilborn File' (weeknights, 7PM ET on Fox). While she was on the show, Leeves took the opportunity to unleash a little cattiness against Catherine Zeta-Jones. Ooh! We like it! A little British actress vs. British actress fight!

Craig Kilborn told Leeves that he had once read that she was the highest-paid English actress. " ... Well, that's what they're saying," Jane replied. "But that would be a bit sad wouldn't it, really? I'm sure, like, Catherine Zeta-Jones has outdone me." Then, Leeves paused for half a second. " ... Although she's going to have to probably wait a few years for that money."

"Was that a reference to divorcing someone?" Kilborn asked.

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no," Jane said.

This was, in fact, a fairly subtle burn, which referred to the fact that Zeta-Jones is currently married to Michael Douglas. And Douglas' divorce from his previous wife was one of the most expensive in Hollywood history -- costing him an estimated $45 million, not including the two houses that he had to give to his ex-wife.

Lucy Lawless Discusses Gay Rights, Getting Pinched on the Butt (VIDEO)

Lucy Lawless Discusses Gay Rights, Getting Pinched on the ButtLucy Lawless, star of 'Spartacus: Blood and Sand,' appeared on 'The Kilborn File' (weeknights, 7PM ET on Fox). On the show, she discussed her recent trip to Italy, which she made in support of gay rights. Host Craig Kilborn asked her about the behavior of Italian men -- who are known for "goosing," or pinching women on the butt. "Over here, [that's] called assault," he added.

Lawless reported that she was not actually pinched by any men: "I was there for gay pride; it didn't happen." She did express her disappointment that there was not an equivalent march in Italy for gay women. "All this for fabulousness for gay men ... but nothing for the women," she said.

The Ancient Art of "Kilbyashi" on 'The Kilborn File' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 19th 2010 9:30PM
The Ancient Art of 'Kilbyashi' on 'The Kilborn File'Perennial All-Star and potential Hall of Fame basketball player Reggie Miller was the guest on 'The Kilborn File' (weeknights, 7PM ET on Fox). While he was on the show, Craig Kilborn had him play a round of "Kilbyashi" -- which is an ancient Japanese-themed trivia contest that is, of course, entirely invented by Mr. Kilborn himself. Reggie's opponent? None other than Craig's sidekick Christine Lakin.

Below are some of the questions that the players got (as well as questions from a previous round of the game). See how many you can answer, while imagining that Craig is screaming them in your face. All questions must be answered instantaneously, in accordance with ancient "Kilbyashi" rules. No cheating, please!

1) Name a fruit besides a pear that's green!

2) Who recorded the hit song "My Humps"?!

3) How many NBA championships has Reggie Miller won?!

Missy Peregrym Talks About Shaving Her Face (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 15th 2010 10:45PM
Missy Peregrym Talks About Shaving Her FaceOkay, first things first. Let's just get this out of the way. And sorry if it's a little reductive and sexist. Missy Peregrym is really really good-looking! (Also, her name is weird. Is her last name Welsh or something?)

Missy is a former model who appeared on the latest episode of 'The Kilborn File' (weeknights, 7PM ET on Fox). She's also an actress on the new series 'Rookie Blue.' Excitingly, Missy has also appeared on a bunch of sci-fi shows in the past -- which makes her seem more accessible for those of us nerds who dream of someday going out with a supermodel.

While on the talk show, Missy tells host Craig Kilborn about the time that a make-up artist on a sci-fi series wanted to shave her face. Apparently, the pretty amazingly hot Missy had a "mustache," and so the make-up artist tried to use a razor on her.

Craig Kilborn had this response to Missy's story: "No! Don't shave it! It's gonna grow back fuller!"

Good point, Craig! Shaving hair does make it come back more bushy than it was before. That's a true scientific fact. You could look it up.

Lisa Edelstein Talks About Being a Cheerleader for Donald Trump (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 14th 2010 9:30PM
Lisa Edelstein Talks About Being a Cheerleader for Donald TrumpThe guest tonight on 'The Kilborn File' (weeknights, 7PM ET on Fox), was Lisa Edelstein, star of the hit series 'House.' Lisa discussed how -- at the tender age of 16 -- she was a cheerleader for a professional football team owned by Donald Trump.

Ms. Edelstein soon got in trouble at her job, though. She organized a protest, because the team was forcing the cheerleaders to go and stand in bars while wearing their tiny, tiny uniforms. Lisa said she felt this was "akin to prostitution." So she started a cheerleader strike. "I was a feminist," she said to host Craig Kilborn. "A feminist in hot pants."

So, now you know that. And now, let's enter the very brief trivia contest section of this column:

A) Lisa Edelstein was a cheerleader for Donald Trump's New Jersey Generals. What short-lived football league were they a part of?

B) Lisa Edelstein is a pretty good-looking lady, no? But can you guess how old she actually is?

Craig Kilborn on ESPN, Women in Late Night, and His Comeback

by Joel Keller, posted Jul 14th 2010 2:08PM
Craig Kilborn on the set of 'The Kilborn File'
When Craig Kilborn and I spoke last week, LeBron James hadn't yet told sports fans around the country that he was going to play in Miami. So it's not a surprise that the topic was still on the mind of a guy who came to America's attention as an anchor of ESPN's 'SportsCenter' in the mid-'90s.

"I'll tell you what's odd, if he does leave Cleveland, he's going to drag the city through this announcement and then kick them in the gut and say 'I'm leaving,'" he told me.

Kilborn has had an interesting career, to say the least. He left 'The Daily Show' in 1999 to take 'The Late Late Show' over from Tom Snyder; his successor, Jon Stewart, has become a superstar. And five years later, he stepped away from 'Late Late' seemingly into obscurity. Craig Ferguson took over and has become the new star of late night TV.

Six years after leaving CBS, he's back with 'The Kilborn File,' a show that's being syndicated by Fox to a limited number of stations this summer on a trial run. The show is a fast-paced half-hour that has a lot of what Kilborn fans have come to expect: headlines, Five Questions, and the signature Kilborn style.

I talked to Kilborn about what he thinks of ESPN these days, if 'The Daily Show' is truly anti-women, and why he's been away from showbiz for all these years.

Kelli Williams Talks About Selling Lemonade With Johnny Carson (VIDEO)

Kelli Williams Talks About Selling Lemonade With Johnny CarsonKelli Williams -- star of the drama 'Lie to Me' -- appeared on 'The Kilborn File' (weeknights, 7PM ET on Fox). There, she discussed her "normal" childhood, growing up in Beverly Hills as the daughter of an actress and a plastic surgeon.

Ms. Williams spoke of being a little kid in Hollywood, and having famous stars as her neighbors -- including Kenny Rogers, Sonny and Cher ... and Johnny Carson, who lived right across the street from her. Since tour buses stopped there to look at Johnny Carson's house, the young Ms. Williams opened up a business called "The Johnny Carson Lemonade Stand" -- in order to separate some of the tourists from their money.

The lemonade stand idea was Johnny Carson's own suggestion. While discussing the topic, host Craig Kilborn hinted that Johnny might have wanted a share of the profits from the lemonade. Ms. William neither confirmed nor denied this.

Wendie Malick Talks About Getting Drunk With Craig Kilborn (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 7th 2010 10:45PM
Wendie Malick Talks About Getting Drunk With Craig KilbornAs we've mentioned before, Craig Kilborn has appeared on many different television networks over the years. And he has interviewed many different guests. So it's understandable that he might not remember every interaction that he's had with every single celebrity.

On 'The Kilborn File' (weeknights, 7PM ET on Fox), Kilborn welcomes back guest Wendie Malick -- a woman he's met several times before. Wendie reminds him of a previous interview that they did, but Craig doesn't seem to remember it. A possible reason for this is the fact that he was drunk at the time. "The last time I saw you, what happened?" he says. "Where were we?"

Wendie gently reminds Craig that during their last interview, he played music, danced, and drank some Scotch with her. "You were pretty hammered, I think," she says to him. "It's all a blur," Craig replies.
