'Glee' Season 3, Episode 4: Introducing Rory Flanagan & a Shocking Kiss
by Crystal Bell, posted Nov 1st 2011 11:30PM

After a three week hiatus, I honestly didn't know what to expect from 'Glee' this week. So to say that I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. It definitely wasn't as good as 'Asian F,' but it was better than a majority of Season 2, so I'll call this one a win.
Actually, call me completely shocked. To be honest, I totally didn't see that super awkward Puck and Shelby kiss coming this episode. Even though I knew it was headed there, that didn't make it any less creepy.
Not only did we get a bit of totally illegal Shelby/Puck action, we also met the much-anticipated new kid.

5 Things to Know About 'Glee' Newbie Damian McGinty

Gleeks, say hello to McKinley High's latest heartthrob: Rory Flanagan, played by 'The Glee Project' winner Damian McGinty.Fans of the Oxygen reality competition show swooned over the 18-year-old former Celtic Thunder singer, partly because of his dreamy Irish accent, but mostly because of his adorably clumsy footwork and his velvety smooth voice.
Next week's 'Glee' (Tues., Nov. 1, 8PM ET on Fox) marks the much-anticipated arrival of McGinty as McKinley High's new Irish foreign exchange student, but he's not exactly receiving the warmest welcome.
"Rory is very sweet and really innocent, and it's kind of sad because he wants to fit in and he always has a smile of his face, but he's just getting continually bullied," McGinty told us. "He's getting thrown off lockers and pushed into lockers. It's quite sad. He just wants friends and for people to like him." See? Adorable.

'Glee Project' Winners Talk About Their Experience on 'Access Hollywood Live' (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 22nd 2011 2:50PM
The 'Glee Project' finale had a surprise ending when 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy revealed not one but two winners -- Samuel Larsen and Damian McGinty. The pair appeared on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC) to talk about their road to the finale, and what the win means to them. The finale taped in April, which means Larsen and McGinty haven't been able to tell anyone about their win for months. "Oh, I told my mom and dad," said Larsen. "No, I mean, when they slap that kind of a contract in your face and tell you the consequences, you keep your mouth shut."
Larsen also said he had been tempted in the past to lose the dreads to get parts and pass auditions, but he's thankful he never cut them. "And I'm so glad I didn't because, you know, now it's kind of become a trademark thing," he said. McGinty was a bit more philosophical about the win. "To come out on top along with Samuel," he said, "you know, it proves the underdog can, you know -- which is what 'Glee's' about, which is even more incredible -- but it proves the underdog can come out on top."
