Nancy Grace and Dan Abrams Discuss the Casey Anthony Verdict (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 6th 2011 12:45PM
Nancy Grace and Dan Abrams discuss the Casey Anthony verdict on 'Good Morning America'Nancy Grace has spent the last several weeks railing against Casey Anthony, and the last twenty-four hours against the "not guilty" verdict in her trial. Appearing Wednesday on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM on ABC), Grace was more in control, discussing with Dan Abrams how testimony from Anthony's family influenced that case and what Casey's life might be like now that she is an infamous celebrity.

Abrams and Grace agreed that Anthony's family had been persuasive to the jury, especially Casey Anthony's mother Cindy's emotional testimony. "I think that they [the family] believed a conviction was coming down, but not a death penalty, if they could stop it," said Grace.

Rachel Maddow takes Dan Abrams' spot on MSNBC

by Allison Waldman, posted Aug 20th 2008 8:39AM
Rachel MaddowIf you watch MSNBC for the politics fix, no doubt you have seen Rachel Maddow. She's one of the talking heads, a politically savvy woman who has been featured on shows like Hardball with Chris Matthews and Countdown with Keith Olbermann.

In fact, she's been Keith's regular fill-in this summer, a sure sign that she's MSNBC's star on the rise. The network has just announced that Rachel Maddow has been chosen to replace MSNBC's Dan Abrams, bumping his show Verdict out of the primetime lineup.

Maddow is getting a great spot on MSNBC, right after Countdown at 9 p.m. Abrams is not getting kicked to the curb. Like when Tucker Carlson lost his show and remained one of the net's pundits.

I don't like MSNBC's new graphics

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 21st 2006 6:44PM

MSNBC logoIf you didn't notice (which is fine, people shouldn't obsess over things like this like we do), MSNBC debuted a new news crawl and new on-screen graphics this morning. So far, it's a thumbs down.

While CNN and FOX News have cleaner, squared off graphics, MSNBC has gone with funky, pointy boxes on the right hand side that show the time and the MSNBC logo, while the left hand side shows the stock report. It's great that they separated the time and stocks, so now both can be on the screen at the same time, but the way they've done the boxing, it looks odd (and the text on the screen sometimes overlaps the new graphics, which isn't good). The crawl is odd too, because it doesn't crawl across the entire screen, only half of it (the stocks block the rest of the screen), and since only so many words can stay on the screen at once, it takes several seconds to even figure out what the story is about (but maybe that's on purpose, to make you stick around longer).

The new MSNBC logo is good though. It keeps the colorful peacock but it's now a lot thinner. Too bad they didn't put good boxes and a better setup around it. And I think it's time to get rid of the "MS" part. Why not just make it NBC News Channel now?

Anderson Cooper vs. Dan Abrams

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 16th 2005 4:46PM

Anderson CooperWe love it when news anchors get into silly fights. First Anderson Cooper takes some time on his CNN show to dump on FOX and MSNBC for devoting so much time to the Natalee Holloway case. Then MSNBC's Dan Abrams takes some time on his show to fire back at Cooper, asking how Cooper can have that attitude when Larry King and Nancy Grace are all Natalee Holloway/Michael Jackson happy all the time, and when even Cooper has covered such stories.

I have to admit, even though I like Cooper's show a lot more, Abrams has a point.
