Danielle Staub Wants Jake Pavelka to 'Grow a Pair' on 'Famous Food' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 25th 2011 12:58AM
Jake Pavelka, 'Famous Food'Poor Jake Pavelka. His smarmy grin and over-confidence doesn't work on Danielle Staub. She has no interest in his "charm" and calls him out for what she sees a serious lack of gonads on 'Famous Food' (Wed., 8PM ET on VH1).

The problem for Jake is that what he sees as his charisma and charm, many people instead see him as kind of a jerk. There's confident, and then there's arrogant, and he tends to come across as more the latter.

Danielle called him out after a discussion about what to do with the walls of the restaurant. After their first designer made the restaurant boring and bland, Ashley was prepared with another designer, but Danielle figured it wasn't in the budget.

Danielle Staub Sees Why Jake Pavelka Is 'One of the Most Hated Bachelors' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 4th 2011 9:45AM
Danielle Staub, 'Famous Food'Normally, it can get pretty annoying when Jake Pavelka is getting pretentious and preachy. But for some reason it was an absolute delight watching him turn those snarky retorts on Danielle Staub on 'Famous Food' (Wed., 8PM ET on VH1).

"Now I know why he might be one of the most hated Bachelors," Staub said of Pavelka, an ironic claim considering her popularity with 'Housewives' fans.

The fight came when they made changes to the menu without consulting Staub. She was incensed that Pavelka hadn't texted her and called him a snake. She then asked him if they had "some of those in Texas".

Designer Scott Argues Over the Floor Plan on 'Famous Food' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 28th 2011 1:52AM
Jake Pavelka, 'Famous Food'With seven famous people trying to work together to put a restaurant together in five weeks on 'Famous Food' (Wed., 8PM ET on VH1), we can expect some world-class clashing going on. And we have not been disappointed on that front.

But this week, they were able to unite for a common purpose: Trying to figure out what their designer, Scott, thinks he's doing. When they came to him with some concerns about the seating in the main dining room, they found out he'd already ordered furniture for a floor plan without consulting them.

What's worse, he didn't seem to care how they felt about it, or whether it was a breach of his contract or not. Probably because he'd already received a check for $42,500. He told them if they needed anything more, it would cost them more.

Danielle and DJ Paul Gang Up to Fight Ashley on 'Famous Food' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 21st 2011 5:45AM
'Famous Food'There's a lot of stress that goes into opening a restaurant, but nothing can be more stressful than trying to do it with business partners that you barely know. Maybe that's why the celebrities on 'Famous Food' (Wed., 8PM ET on MTV) seem to be at each other's throats.

That, and it makes for good television.

This week's big drama came after Ashley Dupre returned from an impromptu weekend vacation, or as DJ Paul put it, "You was going to have sex!"

Apparently, Ashley came back to find a bench that DJ Paul and Danielle Staub had purchased, and she wasn't too keen on the look. This might have been okay if she'd chosen a different way to approach them about it.

Particularly when you're dealing with Danielle -- who has a notorious temper -- and Paul, who showed that he also has a nasty streak. Ashley completely derailed any chance of having a calm conversation with Danielle after she hinted that she would never leave her kids to do something like this show, like Danielle has.

Danielle Staub Keeps Making Enemies on 'Famous Food' (VIDEO)

by Chris Harnick, posted Jul 18th 2011 10:30AM
Famous FoodDanielle Staub may have left those 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' feuds behind her, but 'Famous Food' (Sun., 10PM on VH1) is a whole new playground for clashing.

During the first episode, Staub clashed with 'Sopranos' star Vincent Pastore, so why should episode two be any different?

After getting into an argument with Eliot Spitzer's former call girl Ashley Dupre about hot dogs and hamburgers -- Dupre called Staub mental, which set off that famous temper -- Pastore started shouting at Staub over her questions about the kitchen. This sent Staub packing, and she headed for the street to make a teary phone call.

Danielle Staub and Vincent Pastore Fight Like 'Desperate Housewives' on 'Famous Food' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 11th 2011 6:31AM
Danielle Staub, 'Famous Food''Famous Food' (Sun., 10PM ET on VH1) is just getting under way, and already the celebrities are at each other's throats. More specifically, former 'Soprano' Vincent "Big Pussy" Pastore and former 'Real Housewife of NJ' Danielle Staub were at each other's throats.

The way they were going at it, if anyone tuned in and didn't recognize them, they'd just assume they were some bickering old married couple. The genesis of the spat was over what to do with the kitchen.

Staub said to gut it, while Pastore said they were planning to spend $200 toward cleaning it. Then Staub said he was interrupting her, and he should wait until she'd finished before he attacked.

'Famous Food' Cast Photo: Yep, This is Real

by Chris Harnick, posted Jun 14th 2011 3:30PM
Famous FoodWe've been chronicling the creation of VH1's 'Famous Food' as any self-respecting rubber-necker might do, and the latest tidbit from the trainwreck-in-the-making, an official cast photo, won't disappoint.

In what many (we) are calling a reality show apocalypse, Danielle Staub, Heidi Montag, Jake Pavelka are teaming to open a restaurant. The cast also includes Ashley Dupre (call girl to New York's former governor Eliot Spitzer, but VH1 lists her as a "singer"), Oscar-winners DJ Paul and Juicy J from the Three 6 Mafia and 'Sopranos' veteran Vincent Pastore.

The cast will have to complete tasks to get the restaurant (titled Famous Food) off the ground. Restauranteurs Mike Malin and Lonnie Moore of the Dolce Group will award one lucky "celeb" with a partnership stake in the new restaurant.

The show premieres Sun., July 10 at 10PM and you bet your bottom we'll be watching this gem.

Jersey 'Housewives' Are Coming Back May 3

by Allison Waldman, posted Mar 26th 2010 10:47AM
real_housewives_of_new_jersey_standingIn anticipation of the new season of 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey,' the restaurateurs in the Franklin Lakes vicinity have decided to anchor all dining tables to the floor like McDonald's and Burger King. That way, Teresa can't be doing any table-flipping unless she's wearing a cape with a giant 'S' in red and has an aversion to Kryptonite.

No seriously -- and table-flipping is hardly that -- those Jersey women are coming back. Bravo's 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' returns Monday, May 3 at 10 PM ET. And unlike some editions of the 'Real Housewives,' all the principals are part of the action.

Hair-Pulling Drama Hits 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey'

by Amy Kuperinsky, posted Dec 4th 2009 4:15PM
Danielle StaubProviding a clue of what's to come in the second season of Bravo's 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey,' star Danielle Staub, the center of much of the drama last season, says another housewife's daughter pulled her (fake) hair out by the (fake) roots.

According to The Record newspaper of Bergen and Passaic counties in NJ, where much of the reality series is filmed, Staub filed a complaint in municipal court in Wayne, NJ, alleging that during a fight at a country club last month, Ashley Holmes, 19, pulled one of Staub's hair extensions out. Holmes is the daughter of Jacqueline Laurita, another housewife on the show who had previously demonstrated a friendship with Staub despite pressure from her husband's family -- including housewife sisters Caroline Manzo and Dina Manzo -- to cut ties with Staub.

Staub -- who arrived in court yesterday with three friends and Bravo cameras -- was the main event last season when it was revealed, via an uncovered old book penned by an ex-boyfriend, that she reportedly had a questionable past, including another name and an arrest on what she said were false charges.

Think the Real Housewives of Jersey is over? Fuggedaboudit!

by Joel Keller, posted Jun 18th 2009 11:29AM
Caroline Manzo during the Real Housewives of NJ finaleThe power of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is amazing to me. I normally can't stand the Real Housewives series. And, as a lifelong Jerseyan, the Sopranos-esque stereotypes of pampered Bergen County wives initially made me queasy. But dammit, the show hooked me and kept me watching the whole season; it even led me to write the hacky headline above. Why? Because this one had a plot.

The story of the creepily over-Botoxed Danielle Staub and how the rest of the Housewives found out about her sordid past was the thread that kept even Bravo-except-for-Top-Chef-averse people like myself tuning in. Oh, and the fact that they teased the "Last Supper" finale all season (showing matriarch Caroline saying "we're thick as thieves" about a thousand times) also kept me watching. And the finale didn't disappoint: people turning on each other, tables getting tipped over, exceedingly mature children horrified at their parents' behavior... it was great.

But if you thought it was over, think again. As the New York Post reports and Bravo has been promoting, the cable net will air four more episodes.

'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Finale: Jacqueline the Brave

by Andrew Scott, posted Jun 17th 2009 12:00PM
Jacqueline LauritaSix episodes later, 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' finally had their long-awaited catfight -- a tense, screaming, table-flipping finale unlike anything the franchise has ever seen (reunion episodes not included).

Even better, the fight ended with an unlikely victor: Jacqueline, 'Jersey''s perpetual pickle in the middle.

For much of the season, Jacqueline was caught between two sides: self-proclaimed best friend Danielle, the town villain with an alleged secret past, and her family, Dina and Caroline, who were convinced Danielle was trouble.

But in a gutsy, 11th-hour move, Jacqueline went against her blood (we take it she hasn't seen 'The Sopranos') by exposing Carolineand Dina's lie: they were the ones behind "the book," 'Cop Without a Badge,' which had somehow made its way into Franklin Lakes' inner gossip circle ("Family or not, what's right is right and what's true is true," she said).

'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Star Danielle Staub Exposed

by Andrew Scott, posted May 29th 2009 6:00AM
Danielle Staub'Real Housewives of New Jersey''s Danielle Staub is in for a major reality check.

The Star-Ledger has uncovered a copy of the now infamous 'Cop Without a Badge,' an out-of-print book that has been the center of a media firestorm after Bravo showed a preview of next week's episode, airing Tuesday at 10PM. According to the preview, 'Badge' allegedly holds the key to Staub's dark and scandalous past.

So what does the book actually say? According to the article, 'Badge' profiles a woman named Beverly Merrill, a promiscuous, drug-using stripper who in 1986 was charged with extortion, kidnapping and possession. The charges claimed she had ties to a kidnapping incident involving her drug dealer friend, who allegedly kidnapped, beat and starved a rich kid who owed him $25,000, before calling his father for ransom.

'Real Housewives of New Jersey''s Danielle Staub

Danielle StaubShe was one of the first women in New Jersey to have a black American Express card ... she's been engaged more than a dozen times ... she's connected to the Mafia ... she was involved with Columbian drug dealers and a kidnapping ...

Those are but a few of the rumors that have swirled around 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' scene stealer Danielle Staub since Bravo first unspooled the preview clips of the guilty pleasure reality drama.

After a couple weeks of Danielle dramas -- with her rival Dina, her ex-husband and her current dating life (who knew basic cable even allowed the utterance of the word she used to describe a certain part of her anatomy on last night's episode?) -- it looks like we may finally get some answers. Next Tuesday's installment promises to shed some light on at least a few of the Staub mysteries, namely those involving her alleged illegal activities.
