Tina Fey at 'Comedy Awards': I Was Crushing Helen Mirren at Acting (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 11th 2011 1:56AM
It was a good night for '30 Rock' and Tina Fey at 'The Comedy Awards' (Sun., 9PM ET on Comedy Central). Alec Baldwin won TV Comedy Actor, while Fey picked up a writing award for the show. She took home a second trophy in the Film Comedy Actress category for her work in 'Date Night.'She inspired a new activity for bored college students across the nation with her acceptance speech for the latter.
"The only thing that I knew for sure while we were making this movie was that I was f****** crushing Helen Mirren at acting," she said. "If you watch 'Date Night' side by side next to 'The Queen,' it's embarrassing for her."
Liz Lemon and Michael Scott on a 'Date Night'? Yes, Please
by Gabrielle Dunn, posted Apr 9th 2010 2:45PM
'30 Rock's' cat-lady-in-training Liz Lemon and 'The Office's' outrageously awkward Michael Scott seem like the perfect crossover comedy couple. In fact, they would make such a hilarious pair, we wish Lemon had been Scott's blind date on the most recent episode of 'The Office,' if only so we could have seen a harried Liz contend with Scott's alter-ego, 'Date Mike.'
The casting directors for the movie 'Date Night' must have thought so too when they cast Lemon's Tina Fey and Scott's Steve Carell as a married couple, in a move that overjoyed every die-hard comedy nerd.

Tina Fey and Steve Carell shared worst date horror stories while appearing on 'The Rachael Ray Show' (weekdays, syndicated) to promote heir new comedy 'Date Night,' a film which depicts a married couple on a date that goes horribly awry. According to Fey, her all-time worst date involved a man who insulted her weight. "I had one guy on a date tell me, 'Oh, you'd be really pretty if you lost weight,'" Fey said.

Steve Carell on 'The Daily Show' (VIDEO)

Steve Carell appeared on 'The Daily Show' (weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central) to promote his new movie, 'Date Night.' Unfortunately, even though they worked together for many years, host Jon Stewart had a little trouble remembering who he was. First, Stewart showed the wrong movie clip -- a clip from 'The Hangover,' which starred a different ex-'Daily Show' cast member. Oh well.Watch the video after the jump.
Fey and Carell Prove That The Gap Between TV and Movie Stardom is Disappearing
by Joel Keller, posted Apr 5th 2010 4:02PM
Let me start this post off by getting this out of the way right now: I have no idea whether 'Date Night,' the new big-screen comedy from Tina Fey and Steve Carell coming out on Friday, is any good, or whether it'll make any money. From what I can see from the ads, it isn't looking promising, but good movies have been victimized by bad ads for as long as TV and movies have co-existed.What has been the most remarkable about the promotion and marketing of this movie, though, has been this: Nothing, from the movie ads to the breathless previews on entertainment channels, to any of the print stories, are making a big deal that this movie is headlined two (gulp) television stars. And it's the career paths of both Fey and Carell that make this so refreshing.
Tina Fey's Likely To Do Sarah Palin On 'SNL' Again
by Allison Waldman, posted Feb 18th 2010 6:36PM
Just in time for the release of her new movie 'Date Night,' watch for Emmy-winner and '30 Rock' star Tina Fey to return to 'Saturday Night Live' to reprise her Sarah Palin impersonation. Tina told the AP that she expects to be back on 'Saturday Night Live,' but hedged her betchas about doing former Governor Sarah Palin again, saying, "It's inevitable that we'll try it, at least. We'll see if it makes it to air."Actually, this is the perfect time to bring out the Palin material again, only now Sarah has given Tina Fey and the writers a lot more with which to work. Since the last time Fey did Palin on 'SNL,' Sarah resigned from her elected office as Alaska's governor (for the good of the people since she felt she was a lame duck), prompting a lot of speculation about her future in politics.
