Josh GrobanThe angel sent from heaven to deliver platinum records unto us known as Josh Groban ("Who is Josh Groban?! Kill yourself!") is branching out into acting even more.

The multi-platinum singer, who recently co-starred in 'Crazy, Stupid, Love,' will travel to Scranton for a guest spot on 'The Office' as Andy Bernard's brother, Deadline reports. Sadly, his 'CSL' co-star Steve Carell won't be there anymore.

He'll join former '7th Heaven' reverend Stephen Collins and 'ET''s Dee Wallace, who were just cast as Andy's parents.

FYI, Dave Navarro Had a Condom Water Balloon Fight on 'One Tree Hill' Last Night (VIDEO)

by Jean Bentley, posted Jan 26th 2011 2:15AM
'One Tree Hill' is known for its out-of-left field WTF moments. Who could forget the time a dog ate a heart meant for organ donation off the floor of a hospital? But last night's show had the craziest one in recent memory.

What happened, you ask? Oh, you know, just Dave Navarro having a condom water balloon fight with a bunch of hot chicks in feather boas. Yes, that Dave Navarro, the one from Jane's Addiction. Your typical Tuesday night on The CW.

There's a semi-explanation (the girls ran into him while engaging in some 'Hangover'-style bachelorette party debauchery), but we think the clip really speaks for itself.

Just so you know, "What are you doing here, Dave Navarro?" is so the new "Stay out of it, Nick Lachey."

Dave Navarro to Rock on 'One Tree Hill,' 'Jonas L.A.' is Canceled (Maybe?) and More

by Jean Bentley, posted Nov 8th 2010 6:20PM
Dave NavarroThe 'One Tree Hill' wardrobe department is about to need a whole lot more eyeliner. According to Michael Ausiello, rocker Dave Navarro is set to appear as himself on the CW soap in an upcoming episode.

Musicians are no stranger to the show, since one of the main character owns a record label. In the past, musically inclined guest stars have included Pete Wentz and Michelle Branch, with Kid Cudi set to appear Nov. 30. Singer/songwriter Kate Voegele has appeared on the show for the past several seasons as Mia Catalano, and performs her own songs in the role.

Tim Allen is headed back to TV ... maybe. Over the weekend, ABC won a bidding war for the new comedy 'Man Up,' which could potentially be a starring vehicle for Allen. [Deadline]

Rebecca Mader will guest star on 'No Ordinary Family.' The former 'Lost' actress will play a coworker of Stephanie's with secrets of her own. [TV Guide]

The Jonas Brothers' Disney show is (possibly) no more. 'Jonas L.A.' director Paul Hoen tweeted about the cancellation this weekend, but has since deleted his 140-character statement. [Vulture]

Jenny McCarthy is returning to 'Two and a Half Men.' The actress will reprise her role as crazy con artist Courtney starting Nov. 22. [Hollywood Insider]

I saw Storm Large on the radio

by Anna Johns, posted Dec 15th 2006 7:02PM
storm largeI just had to drop a quick note to fans of Storm Large, one of the most popular contestants on last summer's Rock Star: Supernova. I got to see her perform live last night for a public radio program here in Portland, Oregon. The radio show is called Live Wire (it records once a month at the Aladdin for you P-towners), and it's sort-of like Prairie Home Companion, but for young people. Storm Large and the Balls, who are a very big deal here in Portland, performed three songs last night for the radio program. She sang two of her originals, "Beautiful" and the uber-popular, PG-rated version of "Ladylike". She closed out the show with a very sultry version of "I'll Be Home for Christmas".

I freely admit that I'm a Johnny-come-lately fan of Storm Large, but... damn, she rocks! I saw her on Rock Star a few times last summer and the television does her no justice whatsoever. You have to see this woman perform live. Her stage presence is captivating-- probably a combination of her self confidence and her amazing voice. I felt like I was in a trance as I watched her-- she's so damn commanding. Plus, she's drop-dead gorgeous!

For Oregonians, the Live Wire featuring Storm Large airs at 8 pm on OPB on December 23rd. The radio program also has a podcast version so I'll post a link to that when it comes out during the week of Christmas.

Rockstar: Supernova: Finale

by Deidre Woollard, posted Sep 13th 2006 11:55PM
supernova4(S02E22) Well, as was reported earlier, they won't really be called Supernova now that a judge has ruled they can't use that name but the ragtag rockers have picked their lead singer. Like Big Brother's finale last night, this one was a total snore resulting in a reveal that everyone already knew anyway (anyone who reads internet rumors that is).

Rock Star: Supernova: Last Performance Night

by Deidre Woollard, posted Sep 13th 2006 7:06AM
rockstar4This is the last chance for the rockers to do their thing to impress the voting fans and they really do give it their all. But first a blast from the past. Ryan Star got the nod to do the encore based on fan votes and sings his original Back Of Your Car. His album will be called Dark Horse (after his name on the show) and he wins a car. Sometimes it seems like the ones who already left the show are getting the better deal.

Rock Star: Supernova: Week 10 Performances

by Deidre Woollard, posted Sep 6th 2006 1:40AM
(S02E19) This week we learn what the watchers of webisodes have known all along, Dilana can't write songs and Lukas doesn't think he needs to try too hard. Both Lukas and Dilana are talented and have been fan favorites since the beginning of the show but neither one of them has really had to battle too hard to stay at the top of the heap. That ends tonight.

Rock Star: Supernova: Week 9 Peformances

supernova6(S02E17) Dilana is still reacting from her bad night and her meltdown makes it worse. When the camera comes around at the house, she smashes a glass and runs off. The glass hits Magni on the forehead. All that drama comes to naught everyone is all business by song time. It was fan choice night for the rockers giving us an insight into how the voters really see each singer.

Rock Star: Supernova: Week 8 Elimination

by Deidre Woollard, posted Aug 24th 2006 7:45AM
dilana(S02E16) My my, Dilana has a high opinion of herself. She proved this week that she is no media darling. Boasting about her large fan base is not a way to encourage voting. Ryan feels that Dilana is not humble or kind to those who are not as popular ( conveniently forgetting his own treatment of Dana). When the rockers have their press day, Dilana says that Lukas is moody and Toby and Magni are not serious about the band. Honesty or total self-destruction, I'm not sure but she sure isn't winning any fans inside the house.

Rock Star: Supernova: Week 8 Performances

rockstar(S02E15) The song selection battle gives us a chance to see Dilana naked (nice abs) and Storm feeling angsty and sad until her magical Verizon phone makes it all okay. This week everyone gets a little more competitive. All of the real clunkers are gone but that doesn't mean that there aren't still a few shabby performances in the mix. Not that Dave Navarro and the Supernova guys would notice, tonight they seem to love everyone. Must be the calming influence of Gilby's dog Chopper.

Rock Star: Supernova: Week 7 Elimination

by Deidre Woollard, posted Aug 16th 2006 10:34PM
(S02E14) This week Supernova decides to play with one of the rockers. They ask the audience who should play and the response is loud. Dilana. Cut to a shot of Lukas looking deeply annoyed. Sure enough, Dilana gets the honor of being the first to test out a Supernova song. She's got the look and she definitely doesn't get lost in front of the boys. But will that raspy voice hold out for weeks and weeks of concert touring? Also, (and I hate myself for saying this) would the band be better served by having someone younger as the lead singer?

Rockstar: Supernova: Week 7 Perfomances

by Deidre Woollard, posted Aug 15th 2006 11:28PM
One of the problems with performance-based shows is that as the group of contestants gets smaller the amount of filler gets higher. Unfortunately since most of what we have seen of the "rockers" has been onstage, watching them cavort drunkenly is like watching strangers. Last season we got a bit more of the dynamics of the group. This season's crowd is both more seasoned and less fun. Even their letting off of steam looks like work.

Rock Star: Supernova: Week 6 Elimination

zayra(S02E12) On Big Brother, much of the talk is of getting rid of the "floaters" who are just coasting along. The same is necessary for Rock Star and tonight Supernova took another step in that direction. After all, the surviving contestants tonight get to go to Vegas and not everyone there is Vegas worthy. Check out Dave Navarro's blog, even he is getting restless. And so the double elimination is no suprise but who goes is.

Rock Star: Supernova: Week 6 Performances

dave and tommy(S02E11) Before the competitions begin we learn that no one in the house except Dilana wanted to play with Gilby this week. Dave has strong words about that and with good reason. Why wouldn't you want to play with the guy in the band you are supposed to be auditioning for?

Dilana, Won't Get Fooled Again--Gilby's no Slash but hey who is and he and Dilana make a pretty hot combo. Dilana's smart enough not to grind on Gilby's thigh like Jill did but she does sing with him and delivers a powerful and energized performance.

Rock Star: Supernova: Week 5 Elimination

patriceandtommy(S02E10) Two great ways to judge someone's character are how they react when things are going badly and how they react when things are going well. This is Ryan's week to shine. His performance was great but his attitude is still horrible. Every time they show house shots it seems like Ryan is being a jerk of some sort, especially with the women. Supernova gives him the encore which will unfortunately only feed that ego of his. By contrast, Lukas has been taken down a peg. He is keenly aware that his performance was subpar and admits that he should be bottom three but also thinks he can sing his way out of it. Arrogant yes, but not unbearably so.
