NFL Prospect Pelts Dave Price With Football (VIDEO)
Is there anyone on TV who takes more abuse than weatherman Dave Price? On 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM ET on CBS), Harry Smith convinces Rob Gronkowski, a college football player and prospective NFL draft pick, to throw a football at a bullseye target with Price's face on it, then lob a football at Price himself. Gronkowski's first throw hits the bullseye with a great amount of power and speed. "Oh, you can throw at me, but you can't knock me down," Price taunts.

Sarah Silverman and Dave Price Share an Intimate Moment (VIDEO)
Sarah Silverman dropped by 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM ET on CBS) to promote her memoir 'The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee' and learned that weatherman Dave Price may be harboring a secret crush. "Didn't you tell me that Sarah was your secret crush, like, your entire life?" Maggie Rodriguez asked Price.
"I never told you that," Price replied quietly. And yet, Price and Silverman then lean suggestively toward each other as if to kiss with Rodriguez sandwiched in the middle.

Dave Price's On-Air Flub on 'The Early Show' (VIDEO)
Poor Dave Price! The weatherman for 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM ET on CBS) forgets a date when reporting a factoid during a forecast, causing anchor Harry Smith to laugh loud and long at the on-air flub.Price correctly reports that the second highest wind gust ever recorded on Earth occurred on this date, but he can't recall the exact year. In fact, Price needs to consult his notes before he can accurately report that the gust occurred in 1934. "This is why I didn't do well in high school," he said.

Dave Price Injures Groin on 'The Early Show' (VIDEO)
Weatherman Dave Price lets loose on an inverted bungee jump on 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM ET on CBS), executing a series of back flips and apparently causing slight injury to his groin in the process. The unfortunate weatherman grimaces in pain throughout the entire segment. "You know, it's interesting. Harry had the colonoscopy last week live, and now I'm having a vasectomy," Price said, referencing anchor Harry Smith's recent on-air colon exam. "Bring me down, please, and call the surgeon."

Katie Couric Silences Dave Price During 'Early Show' Colonoscopy (VIDEO)
Remember, there's nothing funny about colonoscopies, especially if they happen on live television. Weatherman Dave Price attempts a bit of humor by forecasting a "full moon" during co-anchor Harry Smith's live colonoscopy on 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM ET on CBS), but Katie Couric fires back with a retort that firmly puts him in his place."I heard when they did your colonoscopy they actually found your head," Couric said to Price. "Is that true?"

CBS Early Show host is having a baby
What's a sure-fire TV winner? Having a baby. Remember when Lucy had Little Ricky on I Love Lucy? Even the reruns that have been running for 50 years are still favorites. So, with that in mind, don't you think America will be overjoyed that Maggie Rodriguez on The Early Show is having a baby?I do. I expect there to be a spike in the Nielsens as people tune in each morning to watch Maggie's tummy grow and check out her maternity fashions. On today's broadcast of CBS's morning show, Maggie broke the news to co-host Harry Smith, weather forecaster Dave Price and newsman Russ Mitchell. She told them they would all soon be uncles!
Drew Carey -- The right man for the job
No one will replace Bob Barker as host of The Price is Right. Not the statement you probably had in mind when you read the title of this post, but it is undeniably true. With 35 years and tens of thousands of episodes under his belt, Barker and TPIR became a single entity. And, at least in the short term, his successor would always be compared to Bob, no matter who was chosen to host the mother of all daytime game shows. Heck, the Pope could have been chosen to host and people would say 'Yea, the Pontiff is good, but he isn't Bob.'
With that out of the way I can say that Drew Carey is the right man to take the microphone as host of The Price is Right.
Could The Price is Right still be looking for a host?
There's an interesting little blurb on The Price is Right website which questions earlier reports that CBS weatherman Dave Price has been selected to replace Bob Barker when he retires at the end of the season. Here it is, straight from the site:
All fans of The Price Is Right, here is your chance to attend a taping on a Thursday as two non-air shows of Price will be taped on Thursday, January 25 at 12:15pm with John O'Hurley and Todd Newton and at 4:45pm with The Young and the Restless' Doug Davidson.
Hmm. Certainly sounds like an audition to me, particularly for Newton and Davidson, who have hosted other versions of TPIR. Todd has been hosting stage versions of Price Las Vegas and Atlantic City, while Doug hosted the short-lived, nighttime, syndicated version of the show back in 1994-95. O'Hurley may be there due to his recent hosting duties on Family Feud. So, if you live in the Los Angeles area you may want to stop by . . . you could be watching a try-out for the next host of The Price is Right. More information on tickets can be found at the show's website.
Dave Price to take over for Bob Barker?
Ever since The Price is Right's Bob Barker announced his retirement, game show fans have been bandying about names of possible replacements. The names most commonly mentioned are Todd Newton, who hosts the TPiR road show, Marc Summers of FoodTV's Unwrapped (and the late, lamented Nick game show Double Dare), and Rich Fields, the show's current announcer. But an unexpected name is coming out of left field, and may be a strong contender: Dave Price. The Early Show's weatherman and all-around goofball recently signed a new deal with CBS, and according to an article in the New York Daily News, that contract also calls for him to do "entertainment-based projects" for the network. In addition, the story reports that he was at the offices of TPiR producer Fremantle Media doing a mock run-through of the show for a small audience (who responded to a Craigslist ad, for crissakes). CBS is saying that it's too early to even talk about a replacement for Barker.
