CBS Chief Les Moonves Thinks 'Two and a Half Men' Could Last for 'Many Years'

by Laura Prudom, posted Nov 18th 2011 3:30PM
Les MoonvesYou could forgive CBS CEO Leslie Moonves for being a little stressed; after Charlie Sheen's acrimonious exit from 'Two and a Half Men' earlier this year, America's biggest sitcom was in serious danger of imploding, leaving the network wondering if they might have to slaughter their golden goose just to save face.

Against all odds, 'Two and a Half Men' bounced back bigger than ever with the addition of Ashton Kutcher this season, but lately it seems as though Moonves has simply traded one headline-grabber for another. From engaging in a war of words with the Village Voice over sex trafficking to making a twit of himself on Twitter with an uninformed comment about Joe Paterno, Kutcher is developing a reputation almost as noisy as Sheen's -- and his impending divorce from Demi Moore over rumors of infidelity won't help matters much.

Still, despite Kutcher's antics, Moonves apparently doesn't think his golden goose is in danger any longer. According to Deadline, the CEO spoke confidently about the future of 'Two and a Half Men' at the recent Hollywood Radio and Television Society Newsmaker Luncheon in Beverly Hills.

"With these numbers, I'm hoping this show will last for many, many years," he insisted, also praising Kutcher's performance. "We're more than happy with how well Ashton has done, other than his comments about Penn State."

Ellen Barkin and Demi Moore Choreographed Their Own Fight Scene (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 11th 2011 2:30AM
Ellen Barkin, 'Chelsea Lately'One of the tricks to any successful movie is the use of stunt men to protect the actors. According to Ellen Barkin on 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!), they are used for absolutely everything. Even something as innocuous as a shove requires a stunt professional.

But when it came time to choreograph a fight between her and Demi Moore for their film 'Another Happy Day,' the women told their stunt men that they could manage this one on their own.

"She didn't want to pull my hair or do any b****-girl things," Barkin said of Moore. "So she just strangled me."

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore Invited to Stay at the 'Divorce Hotel'

by Catherine Lawson, posted Oct 21st 2011 7:15AM
Ashton Kutcher, Demi MooreCougar Couple poster children Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore have been hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons lately thanks to his alleged infidelity. Now, amid all the divorce speculation comes an offer for the pair to divorce quickly, cheaply and efficiently. The only snag is that it might also be televised.

'The New York Post'
reports that 'Divorce Hotel' managing director Jim Halfens has written to the couple inviting them to be his first stateside guests. Divorce Hotel is a real company in the Netherlands (gotta love those down-to-earth Dutch), which offers affordable quickie divorces in hotels at either a fixed price or by the hour.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Halfens' company -- which is launching in the U.S. in the spring -- caught the eye of a reality TV producer. Mickey Stern ('Mega Cities,' 'Known Universe') says his plans for a 'Divorce Hotel' TV series has attracted interest from several networks, and that the show could be on the air next year. Hey, all those unhappy 'Bachelor' couples could just segue straight over to the 'Divorce Hotel' when they're done.

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 11th 2011 3:00AM
Rosario Dawson, 'Five'There's a certain stigma that's been attached, and rightfully so in many dreadful cases, to Lifetime Original Movies. But the ambitious breast cancer anthology film 'Five' (Mon., 9PM ET on Lifetime), is looking to change all that. The film empowers women at one of their most difficult times through five interconnected stories of five women at five different stages of life and cancer.

The film is a true anthology, featuring five different stars and directors for each vignette. Directing were Jennifer Aniston, Patty Jenkins, Alicia Keys, Demi Moore and Penelope Spheeris, while their stories starred Jeanne Tripplehorn at the heart of all the stories as an oncologist whose mother died from breast cancer.

Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore and Alicia Keys Preview Breast Cancer Film 'Five' (VIDEO)

by Stephanie Opella, posted Oct 7th 2011 6:30PM
Lifetime's original movie 'Five,' which premieres Monday night at 9PM ET, looks at the effect breast cancer has on womens' lives in five short, interconnected films. Jennifer Aniston, Alicia Keys and Demi Moore, who each directed an installment, stopped by 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) to talk about the project.

None of the women are actually in 'Five,' and for Aniston, who also acted as a producer, that made it more appealing. "That was sort of what was exciting. It was also a year of taking off from acting," she said.

Demi Moore talked about directing 'Charlotte', the first of the five shorts about a girl in the '60s whose mother dies of breast cancer. "When I read it, it wasn't written from the little girl's point of view, but I felt it was essential that we bring it down to her level."

Demi Moore Talks Saving a Life Using Twitter on 'Tonight Show' (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Apr 9th 2010 5:40AM
Demi Moore Talks Twitter on 'Tonight Show'OK, everyone knows Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore are quite possibly the world's biggest Twitter fiends. But to be fair, the couple don't just Tweet to self-promote and/or proclaim their love for each other (though there is plenty of that). On the 'Tonight Show with Jay Leno' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC), Moore said that the social networking tool not only raises awareness for their charities, it actually saved someone's life.

The actress explained, "I had a young man, he'd only sent out four Tweets. One was just a general one, the others were to me and I wrote him back.... And people on Twitter responded, and [local authorities] got there in time and helped to save this man's life."

Julianne Moore, Maria Bello Among Big Name Talent on Nets' "Wish List"

by Audrey Fine, posted Jan 27th 2010 1:00PM
Julianne MooreOnce upon a time, hot shot movie actors would never have deigned to stoop so low as to appear on -- gasp --- TV, but thanks to big screen talent like Glen Close ('Damages'), Alec Baldwin ('30 Rock') and Laurence Fishburne ('CSI) having made the leap, more and more "A listers" have begun to think of the old boob tube as less, well, boob-y.

In fact, during any given pilot season, the networks compile a "wish list" of movie stars they'd love to get their mitts on and this year's no different. The Hollywood Reporter details that this time 'round, Oscar nominee Julianne Moore and indie darling Maria Bello rest atop the list for several of the more meaty female roles.

It seems that Moore, who's been dipping her toes into the television pool with a [much-mailgned] guest arc on '30 Rock' would be the dream addition to the Peacock net's take on PBS' long-running 'Prime Suspect.' ABC, too, has its eyes on Moore for its upcoming comedic drama 'Scoundrels' but has also approached Bello and former box office heavyweight-turned-compulsive-tweeter, Demi Moore about the role of a mom who tries to get her family of small-time criminals back on the straight and narrow.

Ten actors who helped make General Hospital shine

by Allison Waldman, posted Apr 20th 2008 12:02PM
GH logoIn honor of General Hospital's 45th year on the air, AOL came up with a terrific photo trivia quiz which was like a trip down memory lane for longtime fans like me. Seeing all those familiar faces made me realize that through the years there have been some wonderful actors who've called Port Charles home. Here's ten that were memorable and, in my opinion, let an indelible mark on General Hospital.

Amber Tamblyn (1995-2001)
When the producers and writers of GH realized the quality of an actress they had with Amber Tamblyn, they took this 12 year old girl and made her an important part of the Quartermaines, a core family. She appeared as Emily Bowen, the daughter of Page, a woman Monica befriended while they were undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. When Page died, Monica and Alan adopted Emily and she became part of the family, and eventually the conscience of the squabbling, occasionally unscrupulous clan (along with Lila). Amber grew up on GH, going through growth spurts and the emotions of the awkward years. She never failed to convey a reality and truth in her acting. She was a shooting star, passing through GH on the way to bigger things, like Joan of Arcadia.

Saturday Night Live: Ashton Kutcher/Gnarls Barkley - VIDEOS

by Annie Wu, posted Apr 13th 2008 12:26PM
Ashton Kutcher(S33E10) Considering the fact that Ashton Kutcher has hosted the show two times previous to this, I expected a lot more sketches that would let him cut loose and go crazy. We already know that he can be a decent host, and I felt like they didn't use him to his full potential. I also fully understand that I'm simultaneously talking about the importance of range and Ashton Kutcher of That 70s Show and Punk'd.

That said, this episode was mediocre, but at least it was consistently chuckle-worthy. There were only one or two sketches that were a bit painful to get through.
